Thanks for clarification, Jeri. Still makes no sense that the move is basically a hack around to 3X on a Pokemon that normally takes neutral damage, but I don't have a pony in this race, so whatever.

I'll edit damage accordingly. Apost, your move.

Okay, not to drag this out further. Which one of my attacks was a partial out of curiosity?

Freeze Dry #1 was indirect, Solar Beam slightly off target.

Okay. I cannot argue the partials, we can agree that it is up to ref's discretion.

Generally pokemon do not attack unless they can hit the target, even if they miss due to the opponent dodging. As you said, Zordon saw that Marshtomp is underwater, and under the ice. Attacking an already frozen surface and effectively wasting a move steps into the realm of pokemon being too dumb vs them just being dumb. Again, ref's discretion on that end, which is fine I guess.

A Great Aether should be enough to get you out. If it isn't, Brick Break again, if is enough to get you from the bottom of the pool, aim a Mud Shot at the snowflake instead

Round 4

Lt. Kipperz decides to cleave his way through the ice cap above him with his signature move, and forms a huge sword out of his Steel and Fire energy reserves. The sword materializes successfully, but the flames that were supposed to surround it are impossible to form under water. Lt. Kipperz slashes at the ice cap, leaving a great gouge in the ice, but not quite enough to break through. The Marshstomp glowers at the ice cap, charges his fighting spirit into his balled-up fist, and lets fly with a right hook. A hole roughly a meter wide is blown through the ice, and a slightly panting Lt. Kipperz clambers out of the water and on to the ice.

During this struggle, Zordon has been floating up to about 15 feet in the air and taking a breather. His order to utilize Recover while already near full health has earned his trainer a puzzled glance from the crystal-mon, but thinks his trainer knows best and utilizes a solid amount of energy to gain back the damage from that Surf attack.

End Round 4

Lt. Kipperz used heavy energy, but is still quite fresh. He is quite low on fighting energy. Health remains unchanged, a smidgen above half.

Zordon didn't do much of anything this round except watch Lt. Kipperz's struggle through the ice. Health is back up to full, and he used a solid amount of energy. He's had a nice breather. Zordon has used his one healing move for the match.

There is now a meter-wide hole in the ice cap.

Mud Shot, aim for the eyes. If you see either a freeze-dry or a solarbeam coming your way, Protect instead of attacking

Rapid Spin through the mud and strike. Freeze Dry after mud shot, which nullifies the chance of the conditional. Make sure you aim it so it hits Marshtomp from the bottom up, instead of freezing the pool further.

Round 5

The two 'mon face-off again, and Lt. Kipperz kicks off the round by releasing orbs of ground energy at Zordon, who begins spinning rapidly. As Zordon careens towards the Marshstomp, the orbs break against him, splashing harmlessly and the mud being deflected away. Lt. Kipperz looks on in dismay as Zordon barrels into him, dealing a good dose of damage and sending him skidding back a couple meters.

Zordon isn't done yet, however, and releases another icy gale towards poor Lt. Kipperz, who cries out as the imba attack blasts him full on for a severe amount of damage, and freezes over his left arm. Not good.

End of Round 5!

Zordon used a considerable chunk of energy, but is still looking peppy. No damage from the deflected Mud Shot.

Lt. Kipperz is now well below half health, closer to a quarter. Good energy use, and plenty in the tank. Left arm is frozen from the elbow to the shoulder.

Round 6: Type spam for all!

Lt. Kipperz, frustrated with his ass-kicking so far, channels Rock energy into an orb in a show of Ancient Power. Zordon sees this and makes ready to release yet another blast of frosty air.

The Rock-energy sphere shoots out towards Zordon just as he begins his Freeze-Dry, blasting the Cryogonal for some super-effective payback and causing his icy gale to go wide of Lt. Kipperz. Not pleased by that SE attack, Zordon goes right back to the same move a second time and buffets Lt. Kipperz with more icy doom wind for severe damage.

Lt. Kipperz is not a happy camper, and the ice on his left arm has grown to encase his entire arm now. Not out of the fight yet, he sends another sphere of energy shooting out at Zordon, this time made of water energy. The sphere blasts Zordon full in the face for a good dose of damage.

A few seconds after the attack, Zordon begins twirling in mid-air, much like a disco ball. It would appear the Water Pulse caused Zordon to become moderately confused. Dun dun dunnnn.

End of Round 6!

Another severe dose of damage for Lt. Kipperz, who is now just under a quarter of his health. Good energy use but still energetic and ready for some payback.

Zordon took a heavy amount of damage this round, but is still well above 3/4s health. Solid energy use. Moderately confused.

I had initiative for a pretty weak attack coupled with the ice's type SC or The token buffers confusion for the second half. A breather isn't suddenly going to make the pokemon lightning fast, and ice moves tend to slow down the opponent as a consequence of being chilled. Could you please share your rationale?

He isn't "lightning fast." Lt. Kipperz won the initiative. He used one weak attack the round before and was more ready than Zordon to attack. Yes, his arm was frozen partially, but he wasn't using his arm was he?

Sculptor Token says nothing about being immune. It was a RNG with a high difficulty.

Post your attacks.

I would suggest you redo a ref app. A lot has changed in six years. Pony by no means excuses your poor reffings. I will respect your choices because Im winning by a large margin, otherwise you are doing things that are arbitrarily wrong. Ask for guidance from the A refs if you do not trust my critiques.

Again, Sciz isn't entirely wrong (I think you overestimate Chilled/initiative here, DT), but this is a bit of a dubious situation.

But yeah Sciz you really probably should try to catch up on the rules before reffing again. Things have changed pretty significantly even since your last return and the rules are much more clear cut than they have been in the past.
