Advanced Trainer Battle: empoleon dynamite v. Psychopath
empoleon dynamite vs. Psychopath

A suspension bridge hangs approximately 10 metres above water level and spans from the river bank across to the four small islands situated in the centre of the lake. Trainers are permitted to stand on the bridge or the islands for the duration of the match, but Pokémon are not. All Pokémon who battle on this lake must be able to swim or fly. You guys know the rules, PM me your Pokemon team and first Pokemon, and also your first round orders. RNG determines that... Empoleon Dynamite will order first after the first round. You guys PM me. I ref. Emp orders. Psycho orders. I ref. Reverse. And..... GO! |

Weavile use mild energy with Ice Beam, and took no damage. Flygon used a small amount of energy (more than Weavile), and took no damage. Kingdra's Special stats are boosted, and he took no damage. A good amount of energy was used with the Protect, energy's approaching 3/4ths. Breloom's physical stats are boosted, and he took two good hits, placing his health at around 3/4ths. Energy usage is around what Flygon's is. It is important to note that if Breloom spends another turn in the water, he will be unable to battle, due to arena rules about being able to swim or fly without touching the bridge or islands. Orders please, Emp. |

"Ok then Reaver, you're gunna have to raft Breloom for the duration of the battle. Envelop their side of the field with a twister! As for you Fungii, wait for Reaver to finish before downing Weavile is Spores and doling out a sky-uppercut!"

Sweet! With the two pokemon becoming one target I can focus their attacks."Okay this match is dangerous, this guys rich! Digga' fly high to avoid his Twister, when you feel safe Firestream at Fungii! Weavile, Avoid the spores by going underwater, then when he's done with that hit Reaver with an ice beam to the face."

Note: The reason I applied the previous warning to Breloom and not Weavile is because Weavile naturally knows Surf, and therefore has some sort of affinity for being in water.
Breloom quickly jumps on top of Kingdra, holding on tight as the mighty beast begins to spin, rapidly forming a Twister. Flygon Flies up high in an attempt to avoid the tight, spiraling column of water, but is unable to get up high enough, screaming in agony as the combination of Dragon energy and water slams into him, sending the Flygon careening into the lake, unable to pull of the Firestream due to being completely waterlogged. Breloom shoots a bunch of Spores at Weavile, attempting to put him to sleep, but the opponent merely jumps into the water, washing off the spores instantly. Breloom looks around awkwardly, unsure how to Sky Uppercut a Pokemon that he's nowhere near, and is hit in the face with a powerful Ice Beam, freezing the area around his mouth. Kingdra took no damage and used mild energy, around 5/8ths now. Breloom took a good hit, health is now right above 1/2. Energy use was minimal. Flygon took a massive hit, and health is now around 5/8ths. Energy use was minimal. Weavile took no damage, and energy use was mild, probably around 1/4th now. Psychopath, orders please. |

"Digga', Fly into the air until you have a suitable position, Dodge any attacks that might go your way. Freeze, try to feeze them with an ice beam, if you can get a clear shot try to cover them in a wave you can surf."

"Looks like splitting up seems a good idea Reaver, just be sure to rescue Fungii if he drops into the lake... As for you my shroomyshroom, jump onto that weasel’s platform and use a stun-spore to lock up his muscles. Then try and sock him in the jaw once more with Sky Uppercut! Reaver, form a light screen to fend off most special attacks, then match Weavile’s surf with a surf of your own. Surely he won’t come up on top with a powerful water type like you with a boosted special attack!”

Flygon growls after being smashed into the ground and Flies up high, well out of the way of any attacks that might chance to come his way. Kingdra summons up a Light Screen in front of him as Weavile spits out an Ice Beam, the beam shooting to the left of the Light Screen and hitting Breloom again, knocking it into the water. Breloom gasps for air and leaps back onto Kingdra before releasing some Stun Spores into the air. Weavile, however is in the water and merely Surfs a wave into Breloom, only managing to wash the spores off of him due to Kingdra's massive Surf smashing through Weavile's smaller one. Breloom looks around again, searching for Weavile, but it seems that the Surf smashed Weavile into the metal girder of the bridge...
Kingdra used a good amount of energy, and once again took no damage. Energy is now around 1/2 (Light Screen is very taxing to create). Breloom took another good hit, and health is now at 1/3rdish. Energy use was minimal again. Weavile took a big hit, and health is now around 3/4ths. Energy reserves are around 5/8ths now. Flygon took no damage and used no energy. Please note that there are no platforms at all in the arena. Emp, orders please. |

"This dodging isn't very convienient... Reaver, taunt both opponants so they stop this evasion game. Fungii, use that spore-sky uppercut combo on Weavile oncemore. Finally Reaver, finish with a point-blank blizzard aimed at Flygon".

How is it point blank if she's flying?
He wasn't worried about the taunt, Digga' was probably too high up to see the it, but he needed precaqutions. "Digga', Fly the highest you can go, that should dissipate the blizzard and if it does come your way Firestream into the center of it so it doesn't hit you. Freeze, Taunt Reaver back, try to get her to hit you with the blizzard! If she falls for it do a dark pulse to keep both enemies at bay!" The strategy was crude, but he needed both his pokemon if he was to succeed.

Weavile uses his superior speed to Taunt Reaver right as the Kingdra starts to Taunt him and his teammate, forcing the Kingdra to focus his Taunt exclusively on Weavile. Digga' Flies up much higher, so high that he's just a dot in the sky right now. Breloom shoots some Spores at Weavile, and the evilthing starts to get drowsy, right as Kingdra fires a massive Blizzard at Weavile, pushing the Weavile back into the metal girder again and freezing a small platform around Freeze. Trapped in a layer of ice, the Weavile opens his eyes to a glowing fist Uppercutting him through the Sky, dealing massive damage and snapping the Weavile out of his drowsiness. Enraged, Weavile begins to Pulse waves of Dark energy outwards from his body, shattering the ice and forcing Breloom back onto Kingdra. Weavile gasps for air, and glares at his opponents angrily.
Kingdra's energy is now around 3/8ths. Health is now at maybe 7/8ths, perhaps a bit above that. Breloom's energy is now approaching 3/4ths. Health is at 1/4th. Weavile's energy is now at 3/8ths. Health is a little bit below 1/4th, and another hit will probably knock him out. Flygon's energy is still above 3/4ths. Health is at 5/8ths. Psycho, orders please. |

This was bad. Really bad. "Freeze, you need to get out of there! Digga', Create an electrical zap cannon and shoot it at the enemy. Dive down as you do so so you can create a diversion so that Freeze can get on your back. Freeze, help her with the diversion by shooting an ice beam at the enemy and once she's down, get on. Digga' after he's on fly back up. Freeze, give her cover by shooting an icy wind down at the enemy, speeding Digga' in the process."

"You plan on dodging all my attacks, very bold... Breloom, allow the light screen to soften the Zap Cannon, then quickly finish Weavile with focus blast. When Flygon arrives Kingdra, attack both opponants with a potent surf, eat your leppa berry if you feel fatigued. Breloom, finish with a giga drain on flygon."

Digga' starts to form a Zap Cannon as Weavile spits out an Ice Beam at Kingdra, who chuckles as the Light Screen intercepts the beam, although the attack does break it. Flygon fires off the orb of electrical energy, firing it from his perspective way up, and folds his wings in close to his torso, opting for a freefall in order to get to Weavile faster. The orb of electricity zips downwards quickly, while Breloom Focuses, Blasting Weavile with fighting energy, KOing the weasel before Kingdra Surfs him up onto the bridge, a red beam of energy summoning Weavile back into his Pokeball. The Zap Cannon zooms towards its target, but ends up hitting the water about ten feet from Kingdra, due to the difficulty it takes to aim from such a high altitude. The electricity disperses through the water, and Kingdra cries out in pain as the electricity flashes towards him using the water as a conduit. Breathing heavily, Kingdra chomps on his Leppa Berry and starts to breath a bit easier. Flygon flaps his wings quickly, breaking out of his nosedive and Flies out of range of the Giga Drain, eyes clouded with sorrow at the KO of Freeze.
Weavile is KOed. Flygon used a lot of energy due to his infamiliarity with electricity and the general energy cost of Zap Cannon, and is now at 1/2 in energy. Health is the same. Kingdra took a big hit, health is now around 1/2, although he avoided paralysis. Energy is now at 1/2. Breloom's energy is now at 1/2. Health is at 1/4th. Emp, orders please. |

With one Pokemon down, the battle seemed to be reaching its conclusion. Nonetheless, Wes bit his lip nervously - if there was one person who could turn a battle around, it was Tyson. "Kingdra, use the last of your energy reserves to taunt Flygon so he doesn't fly off, then finish with Blizzard. Breloom, use Seed bomb and follow up with ice punch!"
Crossing his fingers, Wes turned to his advasary with a slight smile, "Good luck Tyson. Corphish is doing really well by the way. She's really happy but I'm sure she misses you" |

He needed to beat them one at a time, and it was going to be hard. "Digga' kick up a sandstorm before it can taunt you, use that sand to attack them from up here." It was the best he could do, hopefully it would counter the blizzard.

Flygon flaps his wingthings hard, attempting to summon up a Sandstorm, but looks around fearfully as he notices nothing is happening... there is no sand in his range! Kingdra Taunts Flygon, and the dragon flies down a bit lower, attempting to Intimidate Kingdra, but is engulfed in a massive Blizzard as he dips down, screaming in agony as the ice causes massive damage. Kingdra groans and faints, KOed by lack of energy. A red beam of energy engulfs the seahorse, and Breloom leaps off his platform right before Kingdra is recalled, and fires a spray of Seed Bombs at the falling Flygon, pummeling the poor dragon's body with Grass energy but is unable to use an Ice Punch, due to not being near Flygon. Digga' crashes into the water, and surfaces, KOed. It's pretty lucky for Breloom that he did, too, as the Breloom promptly faints from energy use right after Flygon.
Flygon and Weavile are unable to battle! Breloom and Kingdra win this battle! Breloom and Kingdra recieve 2 levels each, and Breloom, the last Pokemon concious, recieves an Advanced Trainer Battle Trophy. Good job, both of you, that was an incredibly close match. |
