UPN PASBL: kingofthestone vs. biggggg5

Kingofthestone (C) vs biggggg5 (A)
Exhibition:
Triples
3v3
24 hour DQ
Equiall 4
Switch=KO
Arena: Icy Path
Ice Path: Situated to the East of Mahogany Town, Icy Path stands as the sole barrier preventing many trainers from reaching Blackthorn City. Battles here take place at the expansive entrance way. The battle field stretches out wide on either side, with the floor below being comprised of a thick, unbreakable layer of ice, meaning most Pokemon will struggle to find stable footing. Rocks jut from the ice here and there, and Pokemon can use these as means of support to belay their slipping. The air within the cave is also incredibly cold, and this will have an effect on the battling Pokemon not accustomed to the conditions, causing them to become tired at a slightly quicker pace. As always, within reason, if one of the batters mentions positioning of an object, the battler is considered to be correct unless it contradicts a previous statement. This arena is outdoors only.

Get your squad up kots.

Having consulted the almighty RNG, Kots will be ordering first after this round. Consider that his squad slightly dwarfs big's in terms of size and whatnot, I'm ok with this.

In the frigid north of Johto, two trainers lock eyes and prepare themselves for an exciting triple battle. One of them, Kots, is dressed casually, in a light t-shirt and jeans. The ice doesn't bother him; used to the Ice type and longing to command it in a gym setting. His opponent shivers a little, but is dressed more practically. Neither trainer will give an inch as their Pokémon appear on the field, with Kots clutching a Mega Charm that dangles around his neck. On one side, a Gyarados appears to the trainer's left; facing off against a Skarmory who is on his trainer's right. In the middle, Orithya the Mamoswine glares at an arrogant-looking Sandslash. And to Kots' right/big's left, we have a stalwart Golem against a floating Eelektrik. Let's scan the stats.

Oh, and bringing this:
-----------------

Gyaradosarite
Quote:
Gyaradosite (0 SP) - This item allows Gyarados to Mega Evolve into Mega Gyarados when held during battle.
[Mega]: Pokemon in their Mega Form are considered one level higher than their base form. In Mega Form, they therefore have all the benefits and drawbacks of uplevels. If a pokemon which is already an uplevel Mega Evolves, it can trigger disobedience on its own. Transforming to Mega works like conventional switching; it does not cost a move, but must be the first thing done in a round and (if done going second) allows the opponent a re-order. Once in this form, pokemon may not change back until they faint.
Gyarados (Water/Flying): Gyarados are terrifying and their fear based attacks are much more effective than normal. Gyarados are equally at home on land or in the water. They are not particularly agile in either medium despite their Flying typing, however. They can see in the dark. In its Mega Form, Gyarados becomes Water/Dark typed. Its appearance gives off an extremely intimidating aura, causing smaller and timider Pokémon to cower, reducing the willingness of its foes to attack.
Attached to: Scylla the Gyarados

------------------

Scylla

[Female Gyarados]
[Biography]
Scylla is a truly vicious individual, and she takes pride in this fact. For her, a match is not successful if she has not properly roared at least three times and scared the living daylights out of her foe(s). She decided, however, that the ability to simply scare her foes was not nearly enough. She wanted to put the fear of god in them, much like the fear sailors felt when they encountered her ancient Greek namesake. This being the case, I sent her to train with Connor and his own Gyarados, Destroy. They worked with her, teaching her their ways and helping her to perfect her own special technique.

Gyarados (Water/Flying): Gyarados are terrifying and their fear based attacks are much more effective than normal. Gyarados are equally at home on land or in the water. They are not particularly agile in either medium despite their Flying typing, however. They can see in the dark.
[Water]: Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon. They have slightly more Ice-typed energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
[Flying]: Flying-type Pokémon are faster and more agile in their chosen mode of transportation than other Pokémon. Because of their skill in controlling their movement, they are more difficult to evade when using physical moves and more likely to succeed in dodging attacks. Flying type Pokémon are affected normally by the damaging effects of Ground-typed energy and take neutral damage from Ground type moves in the ASB. They fight more enthusiastically in spacious arenas but are not put off by cramped conditions.

[Hidden Power]
Ground

[Signature Training: Fear the Strait of Messina]
Whenever Scylla uses Roar, not only will the intimidation effects be much more potent, with even the most stalwart of Pokemon such as Sceptile being intimidated by her battle cry, but all enemy Pokemon will be so shaken that their defenses will drop by 10%. This is subject to standard boosting stipulations, but will last for 5 rounds at full potency. Scylla now uses Considerable energy when she uses Roar. Scylla never learned how to use Thunder as a result of her training

---------------------------

Orithya

[Female Mamoswine]
[Biography]
Orithya first joined the team as a lowly Swinub. For some reason, she was quite the avid fan of the cold, even moreso than most Pokemon of her kind. In fact, while she isn't adversely affected any more than usual by hotter arenas, she is by no means happy in them. This being the case, during our training she began practicing a technique that would grant her the cold air she so much desired.

Mamoswine (Ice/Ground): Mamoswine are large and sturdy, making them difficult to knock over. When they starts charging, they are difficult to stop, and their ramming attacks are more effective than usual. Mamoswine have a large amount of fur, which keeps them warm in otherwise unbearably cold temperatures and slightly reduces damage from Fire and Ice attacks. They have an excellent sense of smell which allows them to track opponents and tell the real clone in a Double Team. Despite their size, they are adept at hiding in blizzards and can see through them easily.
[Ice]: Ice-type Pokémon are highly resistant to cold fight more enthusuastically in cold environments. However, they hate hot temperatures, and will not fight as enthusiastically. Ice-type attacks which have a secondary effect such as Icy Wind and Ice Beam are slightly more likely to have their effects triggered when used by Ice-type Pokémon, though they are often resistant to such effects themselves. Ice-types are generally sure footed and difficult to knock over. They tend to have slightly more Water energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.
[Ground]: Ground-type Pokémon are considered to be immune to electricity while standing on the ground. If a Ground Pokémon is in the air, they take 0.75x the usual damage from Electric-type attacks. If a Ground-type is wet, electric attacks affect it normally (unless the Pokémon is naturally wet/slimy, like Quagsire). Ground types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. Ground-type Pokémon are more adept at manipulating outdoor and 'natural' environments than other Pokémon and will spend less energy using Dig, Earthquake etc. They typically have slightly more Rock energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.

[Hidden Power]
Electric

[Signature Technique: Brittle Bones (Ice)]
Upon being sent out, Orithya unleashes a horrifyingly cold blast of air, greatly chilling the entire arena. The incredibly cold temperatures cause the defenses of all Pokemon on either side not used to the cold to drop severely, resulting in them taking 20% more damage from all physical attacks (before modifiers). This tactic is similar to Stealth Rock, with all new Pokemon to enter the battle also subject to the effects. This acts as a standard debuff, with the effects decreasing over time, generally taking 4-5 rounds to wear off completely. This technique utilizes a considerable amount of energy, but does not count as a move.

---------------------------

Kronos

[Male Golem]
[Biography]
TBA

Golem (Rock/Ground): Golem have extremely hard shells and take only 80% damage from physical attacks. However, they are weighted down by their girth, and are the slowest of all the Geodude family. That said, their Rollout attack is as fast as any other Pokémon and deals 1.2x damage. Golem can see in the dark. Their Defense Curl attack will give them much more protection than most Pokémon.
[Rock]: Rock-type Pokémon generally have hard bodies, which makes them resistant to physical hits and projectiles. They are difficult to burn or poison and prefer hot environments to cold ones. Most are so heavy that they will sink in water, so they stay away from deep-water sources if possible. They are adept at controlling rocks and will use less energy than other Pokémon when using Rock Tomb, Stealth Rock etc. to manipulate the arena. They have slightly more Ground energy than other Pokémon if they naturally learn attacks of that type.

Fairy

---------------------------

Scylla, begin by immediately Mega-Evolving, then loose a sig-boosted roar to fill their hearts with fear. Follow up with a magic!surf, targeting whoever Orithya attacks.

Orithya, if you're met with a Charizard, blast it with a stone edge. If not, slam your closest target with an ice beam. then follow up with a stone edge on the same target, making sure to stay out of Orithya's way.

Kronos, hit Orithya's target with a double dose of rock slide.

[Electric]: Electric-types, in general, prefer areas where their electric attacks are most accurate. Thus, while hot temperatures don't bother them, the fact that heat refracts electricity doesn't appeal to them. They are resistant to paralysis inflicted by Electric-type moves, though they may be paralysed as normal by other methods. Electric types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water.
I was at my first concert which was for my favorite band Rush. the projection screens were all garbled up. they took out a mike and asked if there were any pokemon trainers in the audience. i was the only one there young enough to be one. There was an eelektrick chewing on the lines. i battled and caught it and named it after the lead singer Geddy Lee. While i was battling him he used a strange move i could not identify. I decided to name it after a lyric from one of Rush's songs.
Special Attack: Thunderheads are Rumbling (Electric)
Hidden power: rock
Geddy releases a small black cloud which floats up into the sky and waits there. a few turns later a lighning bolt strikes the opponent pokemon. It is basically an electric type future sight doing the same damage and using the same energy except not psychic energy. This move can be used twice a match

Sonic: Level 3 Male Sandslash
Sandslash (Ground): Sandslash have powerful claws, boosting claw based attacks by 20% and making them excellent diggers. While not 'bouncy' in Defense Curl, they are spiky and any Pokémon which come into physical contact with them will take minor damage when they are so curled. Sandslash can see in the dark and have bodies full of sand, letting them produce Sandstorms without relying on the sand in the arena. They fight more enthusiastically in sandy or dusty areas.
Sonic is the fastest being on the planet. He makes Rapidashs and Arcanines look like Slugmas. His back is blue. He is best friends with Tails the two tailed fox and Knuckles the echidna and likes chili dogs. He has been on many adventures. One of my favorites is when he saved the Arabian Nights.
Hidden power: fire
Special Training: Super Sonic Speed (Normal)
Sonic can use quick attack and extreme speed but cant use bide, focus punch, detect, protect, curse, rest or counter as they would require being still too long.

Captain Jack Spearow: Level 3 Male Skarmory
Skarmory (Steel/Flying): Skarmory are used to living in harsh environments so piercing or scratching attacks do less damage than normal against them. Their wings also provide slight resistance against physical attacks when tucked at their side. The undersides of their wings are sharp, granting them a 1.2x boost if used to attack.
Jack Spearow was the best pirate in all the Caribbean. He has fought cursed pirates, regular pirates, the British navy, Davey Jones, his fish crew, and came back from the dead. He is an alcoholic, a superb swordsman, and has a knack for crazy unorthodox plans such as knocking over light houses and using cannon pulleys.
Hidden power: ground
Special Training: "Why is the rum always gone?" (Normal)
Jack can use teeter dance but loses double team.

Jack: Start off with a teeter dance. and then Fly to gain Altitude
Sonic: After the dance is done (make sure you arent looking) loose off two earthquakes. If the first earthquake doesnt work on the ice use rollout one as many enemies as you can instead of the second one
Geddy: Do two charge beans at the closest not ground enemy

sorry for taking so long
As kots' Pokémon touch down into the field, the Mamoswine (who is one of kots' uplevels, thus affording her TL5 status and allowing her final form) lets out an intimidating roar that makes the cold winds blow around us even harder. Golem and Gyarados seem distinctly unenthused by their team-mates' shenanigans, but none of their opponents are either. Damn near everyone suddenly has a considerable defense drop. As the battle begins, kots activates his Mega Charm; surrounding Scylla the Gyarados with a pink shield, breaking to reveal a significantly less serpentine creature with a hideous and dark aura.

Jack Spearow the Skarmory attempts to open proceedings with a strange, and bewitching dance but Scylla immediately cuts this off, Roaring even louder than the Mamoswine to her right and petrifying the enemy side! Their defenses fall even further from the intimidation, and it looks like kots has a huge advantage going forward. The intimidation gives Orithya and Kronos the opening they need to rock Sonic the Sandslash (doesn't have quite the same ring to it) with an Ice Beam/Rock Slide combo; with Kronos using local rocks from the arena to smack Sonic about. He doesn't drop rings at least. He's deeply unsatisfied by this, but having been waiting for his time to strike after the Teeter Dance, was not intimidated enough to be disrupted from his attack, and strikes the ice with seismic energy, sending shockwaves through kots' whole team, especially Kronos, who is far from pleased with the results.

Sonic's levitating teammates grin, knowing that they need to push their assault and push it now. Geddy the Eelektrik Rushes (ehhhhhhhh) to put a Charge Beam through Scylla while Jack rises up, getting ready for next round - could an aerial offensive be on the cards? And while Sonic uses a second Earthquake, team kots realises how badly they want him out of the picture, sweeping him down the field with a barrage of rocks from a Stone Edge and a second Rock Slide before Scylla waves goodbye to him with a Surf attack!

After a big first round, team big holds the overall lead, with Geddy and Jack undamaged. Sonic, however is almost to the final third. In terms of energy, all of them can go for two. On kots' side, all Pokémon have been damaged, with Scylla and Kronos taking some big hits that leave them through most of the first third. Orithya has two thirds of her Rock energy left, but has used the most energy so far. Everyone is good for two.

Kots.

Scylla, tackle Sonic with a Surf, followed by a hydro pump.
Orithya, give the eel whatfor with a DC EQ, then an earth power. Swap the latter for an ice beam at Sonic if he's somehow still up.
Kronos, follow suit. DC EQ and Earth Power, both aimed at the eel

Sonic, Extreme Speed to put the Golem between you and the Gyarados. Keep the Golem between you two at all costs and try to use your claws to keep traction if you need to.

Geddy use Magnet rise and agility to dodge everything as high up as you can.

Captain, Use the momentum of the drop to get two steel wings on Mamoswine.

Can you imagine 4/6 triples? Holy shit. That would be the most hideous abomination.

... I wanna do it tbh.

Ok, so as battle recommences, Sonic realises that he's basically buttfucked; but damn, if he's going down, he's taking Kronos with him if he can. Breaking the sound barrier as his leviathan opponent summons water around him; Sonic repositions himself on the other side of his rocky opponent; using his speed, especially in comparison to the Golem's sheer... not-speed to use him as a Pokémon shield. Jack is the next to act while his opponents shove Ground energy into their fists and tusks; he dive-bombs straight out of the sky to smack into Orithya - it's a great hit, and he takes off before his opponents can react, ready to dive again - not that they were planning to attack him anyway. They're both firmly focussed on Geddy Lee and rush him down! The Eelektrik realises he's in deep poo poo and forced his own electromagnetism to become stronger, repelling him from the earth to give him a superior flight ceiling - Kronos can't reach, and Orithya only manages to graze him with her attack! All the while, Sonic is darting around Scylla, trying to keep Kronos between the pair.

As it turns out, Scylla doesn't really have much care for her team either way - Gyarados are a nightmare to work with, and her magical surf washes over the field! Sonic braces himself for the impact, but this was an unwise decision as it transpires! The waves smash into Kronos first, who takes awful damage, but is carried right into Sonic! The two are smacked into an icy boulder, with Kronos crushing the Sandslash against it. Kind of an accidental Body Slam!

Captain Jack is back again, bouncing off Orithya with considerable force; but she has no time for him - she's got bigger fish to fry, as does Kronos! While Sonic has kind of had the wind knocked out of him by that accidental Body Slam/Surf combo, Geddy once again goes on the defensive; using Agility combined with the toughness of the ice to channel Ground energy through to dodge the vast majority of the streams that erupt from the floor.

But for Sonic, it's lights out. He once again attempts to use his speed to keep the Golem between him and the Gyarados, but disaster strikes! His windedness combines with the ice to force him to slip and fall flat on his face; leaving him very easy prey for Scylla's mighty Hydro Pump!

Sonic is unable to battle!

Scylla and Jack both went untouched this round. However, Orithya is almost to the mid, while Kronos fell past it. The icy arena is wearing on everyone's fatigue though and they will definitely appreciate a breather sooner rather than later - Orithya included, who's used the most energy so far.

Big to order.

Great job Sonic.
Both of you stay up high and evasive. Geddy send a discharge at scylla. Jack send a flash cannon at Kronos

I was really hoping you'd offer up a double thunderbolt at scylla. Oh well.

Scylla, send a pair of thunderbolts Kronos' way. Then roast the skarmory with a flamethrower.

Kronos, bide after the flash cannon. Aim the beam at skarmory.

Orithya, give the eel a mud bomb. If Skarmory's still up after Scylla's flamethrower, send it a Hidden Power. Elsewise a second mud bomb for eel.

Potential 3.

... Oh Lord.

Reeling from the loss of their teammate, Geddy and Jack attempt to rally; flying higher than their opponents and ready for their oncoming assault. However, they know for a fact that the best defence is a good offense, rounding on their targets weak to their STAB attacks. Geddy Lee grumbles something about how Mega Evolutions are the devil, causing Kush to appear in the background and become a Rush fan. He'd be hitting a 3x weakness if it weren't for this... But he shrugs it off and Discharges a buildup of electricity towards the Mega-Gyarados, who does likewise - the shrugging I mean. She manages to avoid paralysis. Jack, however is targeting the mighty Golem, blasting him with a beam of mighty white light that blows him well into the final third! But now it's time for their plan to go into action - Kronos starts glowing red and braces for any incoming impacts. His teammate Scylla charges her own energy - her first Thunderbolt crashes into the Golem and is absorbed harmlessly by the Bide aura.

While she charges her second, Orithya moves to assault Geddy Lee, launching a barrage of mud high into the air. Geddy is able to evade a good proportion of it on the way up, but what goes up must come down... It rains into the Eelektrik from above, but he does dodge at least a small fraction of the mud! Team Kots is really beginning to tire now unfortunately, and as a result, Scylla's second Thunderbolt is a tiny bit weaker - though her Mega Boost does compensate for this somewhat. But as that's a base of major energy reached, it's time for the Bidebeam to fire! The power of the beam makes it difficult to aim, but nonetheless it scores a direct hit on the Skarmory; bringing him in to critical ranges! What a massive hit! The Golem is massively drained afterwards (understandably) but the assault isn't over yet! Scylla and Orithya move in for the kill on their respective foes; both really tired and having their attacks weakened... But a weakened Flamethrower from a Mega Pokémon is still a Flamethrower and even though the Skarmory evades most of it, he goes down for the count.

Captain Jack Spearow is unable to battle!

Meanwhile, Orithya's second Mud Bomb is slightly weaker and more reliably dodged, though still far from perfectly. Geddy ends the round alone...

Geddy is now below his midpoint, but still able to fight. Very very fresh. Team Kots is exhausted across the board. Any attacks next round WILL be weakened and slower and easier to dodge. Scylla is out of Electric and half out of fire. Kronos is now deep into his final third and Scylla is into her second.

Kots to order.

Worth it.

Scylla, scald.

Kronos, smack down.

Orithya, Mud bomb.

KABOOM! is the sound of yet another beam of bright white light smashing straight into a truly exhausted Kronos the Golem, bringing him to his knee. He is deep into critical now, and with Geddy Lee holding the freshness advantage by a long long way because lol what am breathers amirite kots, the Eelektrik is easily able to get off his second attack long before Kronos or his teammates can even properly react, knocking the Golem out for the count.

Kronos is unable to battle!

Now, however, the team finds it within themselves to take revenge, and round on the Eel with a blast of scalding hot water and more mud. As his Magnet Rise wears off, Geddy finds himself much lower to the ground, making him an easier target for the Mega-Gyarados and Mamoswine, who capitalise on his weakened defences with their respective uplevel, evolution and mega boosts. It's a brutal assault for the lamprey, but he manages to hold on by the skin of his teeth!

Geddy is hovering just above critical and is out of Steel. Scylla and Orithya are fairly refreshed and went untouched. Geddy has also lowered since his magnet rise has ended. Defenses return to normal next round.

Big to order.

Scylla, roar him out of the first thunder then take the second before blasting him with a scald.

Orithya, a pair of earth powers, if you would.

Scylla's final roar of triumph frightens Geddy Lee enough that he completely forgets about his Thunder! Even had he not done so, it wouldn't have finished the Gyarados, and either way, Orithya has the opportunity to come in for the kill with one last Earth Power, blowing the lamprey sky-high and cinching the match for kots!

Geddy Lee is unable to battle!

kingofthestone, Scylla and Orithya are the victors!

Kots receives 6 TP and 3 KOs for his victory.

Big receives 3 TP.

I get 7.5 SP for fast refs.

Awwwwwwwww shit son.

GG. Should have been more aggressive and had a bit of bad luck on type match ups

Good match, Biggggg. My defensive stat combo didn't help you at all, either. Triples is weird, so not much else to say.

Thanks for reffing, Josh
