After abandoning ASB swiftly after joining due to being a massive bitch, Swift is finally back, this time pitted up against MMS, who's been an on and off ASB'er for a while, but is now starting to really feel it. Since Swift is new and a scrub, here's how the first few rounds will go.

Swift posts a squad of 6.
MMS posts a squad of 6 and releases his first Pokemon.
Swift releases his first Pokemon and orders.
MMS orders.
I ref.
MMS orders.
Swift orders.
I ref, and the order reverses.

Not gonna bother linking the PASBL since I know you already have the link to it, but make sure to use Veekun to find out what moves your Pokemon can use. Also, check this post for the only exceptions.

Anyways, let's get this underway!

Thanks for taking this Sparky, Good luck Swift! c:

Spoiler: show
Cobain: Level 4 Male Machamp (uplevel)

Special Training: Smells Like Teen Spirit [Grass/Dark]
Cobain can now use the moves Night Daze and Seed Bomb, and has the offtype to use each twice per battle. He never learned the moves Brick Break, Superpower and Hidden Power.

Novoselic: Level 3 Male Gogoat
Hidden Power Type: Ice

Special Training: Something In The Way
Novoselic has perfected the use of moves that involve tackling or charging into the opponent, and thus gets a x1.2 boost to moves that involve slamming into the opponent, such as Wild Charge, Payback, Aerial Ace, DC Earthquake, Horn Leech, Rollout, Double Edge, etc. All moves that are boosted cost x1.2 energy to perform.

Lord: Level 3 Male Linoone
Hidden Power Type: Fire

Sig: Special Attack: Judgment Needles (Various)
In a move similar to Pin Missile, Lord can shoot out a hail of energy quills from his fur. This does considerable damage for equal energy cost, and can be used of any type Lord has access to. However, he can only use a single type once, and he cannot use this attack more than three times per battle. Thanks to his inflated ego, provocation moves such as Taunt are much more effective on him. He never learned the moves Protect, Surf, and Substitute. He will not learn the move Giga Impact upon evolution.

Cotton: Level 3 Female Slurpuff
Hidden Power Type: Ghost

Signature Move: Cotton Constriction [Fairy/Poison]
This move costs mild poison energy and mild fairy energy to use. Cotton spits out a large, sticky glob of cotton candy laced with poison, which entangles the foe upon contact. It causes mild fairy damage and has a 10% chance to poison each turn the opponent is wrapped in it, and it also greatly hinders movement, similar to spider web. Rules for breaking out are also similar to spider web, except the victim can also eat through the cotton to free itself, but this will inflict them with Toxic poisoning. Cotton cannot use the move Toxic.

Arikara: Level 3 female Sigilyph
Hidden Power Type: Fighting

Special Training: Telepathic Hearing (PS)
As Arikara cannot hear in a conventional way, she uses her telepathy to "hear" instead. This means that she can choose to block out unwanted noise, making her very resistant to sound-based attacks. She also can focus her "hearing" on specific things, allowing her to find her opponent easily when she can't use her vision, and making her more likely to understand her trainer's orders when confused. She may not both block out sounds and focus her hearing at the same time, however. Blocking out sound costs a move, but does not cost energy, similar to closing one's eyes. She will not cease to block out the sound until ordered to do so, though this does not count as a move. Arikara focusing her "hearing" does not count as a move, but it costs a light amount of energy to perform.

Toneae : level 3 female Galvantula
Hidden Power Type: Ice

Toneae, you're up.

And to you, sir.

Knuckles, come on out!

Approach with the best move in existence, Swift . As you gain momentum from your run, transition into a Rollout.

Magnet Rise as high as you can to avoid the rollout, then give him an Energy Ball.

Round 1: Arachnophobia

As the battlers face each other, a whistle rings out, signaling the start of the battle. On one side, MMS deftly tosses his Pokeball outwards, revealing a scuttling yellow bug inside a flash of red. After pondering his decision a moment, Swift responds with a smirk as he releases a brown, spiky ball onto the field, the ball uncurling itself to reveal a Sandslash.

Immediately, Knuckles narrows his eyes on his foe, taking careful aim as he hops right into the fight. Opening wide, he propels a stream of multiple glittering, flashing stars straight towards the Galvantula. Toneae begins scuttling to the side, but the near blinding speed at which the compact stars zip through the sky results in the throughout battering of her side. In response, she channels electricity towards the tips of her legs as Knuckles sprints forwards, kicking up grass and dirt under his feet. Leaping out, he curls into a ball yet again, but this time, his momentum carries him forwards. As he nears, Toneae kicks off the ground, using magnetic propulsion to zip up in the air a few feet. Unable to see his now airborne foe, Knuckles simply rolls right past him. Feeling no impact, he reluctantly unrolls himself, but as he turns around to face his opponent, he's met with a face full of emerald energy to the snout, a sizable ball of it having been shot over from Toneae. Knuckles spits and grits his teeth, staying strong through the impact despite it's power. Both parties remain fresh, but Toneae has created a lead for herself. Her Grass energy is around half.

Entangle him in a Spider Web and then give him a Toxic while ascending higher if you aren't already at your flight ceiling

Dig to avoid the webbing and surface your head quickly every once and a while to bait out a whiff from the toxic glob. Once the spider misses, surface beneath it and propel yourself out of the ground as fast as you can to close the distance between you and the tarantula. At the apex of your jump, skewer the bug with the Edges of your sharp Stones. (Three)

Using Dig to bob up and down multiple times counts as extreme movement, therefore requiring a move. You'll need to either reorder or confirm a three mover.

Round 2: Diggers Gonna Dig

Peering down at her grounded foe, Toneae begins forming a sticky webbing in her mouth as Knuckles prepares for action. Hissing, Toneae fires off her trap and as it hurtles through the air, Knuckles tears into the grassy terrain beneath him, managing to take off into the earth just as the webbing touches down, his well-suited claws helping his escape. Arcing back up, he allows his upper body to poke above the surface, giving Toneae a target to hit. Hoping to stack on some damage in the long run, the spiders spits out a gooey stream of violet liquid. Seeing this nasty substance hurtling towards him, Knuckles wastes no time turning right back around and heading into the ground. Once more, he curves back up to the surface, emerging a little way away from his original position. He hops back out, summoning a ring of jagged stones around him. With a point, he sends the rocks flying up at the Galvantula, piercing her with the sharp rocks as she screeches in pain. Both are panting fairly heavily as the round comes to a close, and both would enjoy a break, Knuckles a good bit more so. Knuckles has managed to seize a health lead, but it's nothing too large. His Rock reserves still have a sizable amount left while Toneae's Poison energy rests at about half a tank. Swift to order.

If the arachnid tries to poison you again, Safeguard yourself from any toxins or ranged attacks. If it tries to drop in on top of you and hit you up close, toss up a concentrated Sandstorm in its face and make your exit.

Round 3: Flashbang

As the mole looks up towards his foe, the Galvantula swoops downwards, body covered in a blinding light. Suddenly, the glow erupts outwards in a painful flash, making Knuckles yelp as he shuts his eyes, unused to the intense light. Dazed, he shakes his head, and stumbles as he opens his eyes, revealing to him a blurry world of blobs of color. Preying on her disoriented opponent, Toneae releases a cluster of emerald tendrils from her body. They latch onto the ground type, rapidly draining his energy as he attempts to stumble away. Frantically, he allows waves of sand to seep out of his body, the sediment swirling around into a storm as the tendrils retract. Toneae makes some angry spider noises as they sands cut her, but luckily, she feels quite refreshed, and barely received any damage. On the other hand, Knuckles retains his lead, but he's utterly exhausted, and into his second third of energy. Toneae has no more Grass energy.

Dig to avoid the webbing and continue on as deep as you can to try and block out the sound waves. Don't bother with attacking, just kind of clear out a little cavern at the bottom of your tunnel and catch your breath.

Round 4: Dig a Tunnal, Dig Dig a Tunnal

Capitalizing on his foe's fatigue, Toneae spits yet another webbing downwards. This time, Knuckles is too exhausted to react fast enough, leaving him ensnared by the thick webbing. Struggling to move, he starts slowly clawing at the ground and the web, weakening it a bit, but failing to break it. As he starts to submerge himself, Toneae begins shaking violently as a buzz fills the air. Red sound waves zips towards the fleeing Sandslash, striking him moments before he manages to get underground. As his foe vanishes, Toneae finds her electromagnetic propulsion fading, and she lowers herself to the ground once more. Knuckles is still being slowed down by the web, but he's currently just below the surface. He's also fallen behind in the health race, but should be fresh going into the next round. The spider is starting to tire a bit, but managed to avoid damage this round.

Knuckles, Rapidly Spin your way out of the ground and wear that webbing to shreds. After you're free, pin that creepy crawly with a Rock Tomb.

Swagger him out of the Rock tomb, then give him a Hidden Power. If you find yourself trapped for whatever reason, replace either with an X-Scissor to bust out of that tomb.

Round 5: Do The Sandslash Things

Wanting to get back to the surface for some fighting, Knuckles begins shifting the dirt around him, spinning rapidly with his spiny back pointed out and claws slashing around. He fights his way to the surface, also managing to loosen and cut the sticky web in many places, leaving it just dangling from his body rather than restricting his movement very much. He surfaces just in time to see Toneae begin to wiggle back and forth in a red haze, inducing an immense rage in the Sandslash, now wanting to do nothing but hurt his foe. Grinning at the shadow of her foe in the sands disturbed by spinning, Toneae swiftly releases a cluster of shimmering, cyan orbs of energy. The spheres rush Knuckles, chilling his body as the harmful energy flows into him, causing him to wail in pain. He's now nearing the midpoint of health, but remains fresh energy wise. On the other hand, Toneae is beginning to tire, and the sandstorm has left her into her second third of health. Her Ice energy is gone (Fairly sure she doesn't get any Ice moves naturally, but I'll double check Veekun when I get home and have access.)

Find out where it's hiding with a Swift salvo of stars, then crush it with the Power of the Earth.

Round 6: Sneaky Spiders

Hoping to use his whirlwind of sand against him, Toneae surrounds herself with a strange energy which quickly absorbs its sandy surroundings, allowing the spider to fade into the storm. In an effort to catch her before it's too late, Knuckles fires a flurry of golden stars into the storm just as Toneae begins to scuttle away. The majority of the stars crash into her behind as she vanishes into the sand, though a few crash into the ground due to less than desirable aim. While he can see through the sand better than most, Knuckles is still unable to spy exactly where the Galvantula disappeared to, and she doesn't seem to want to give him any hints, though she does cringe a bit from the sand around her, even with it beginning to die down. Luckily, both are feeling pretty refreshed, but Toneae's entered her second third of health.

Strengthen your Storm of Sand to keep irritating that bug. Keep a low profile, use your better visibility to stay wary to any attacks through the stream of sand. If you sense any attacks or approaches, Curl yourself into a ball and shield yourself with your raised Defense. If no approaches are made, just keep laying low in a crater or something.
