UPN PASBL: Gym Trainer Match - Snorby vs. SilentReaper

Quote:
Snorby (GT) vs SilentReaper (C)
4 vs 4
Singles
Equiall 2
72 Hour DQ
Switch = KO
Slapstick
Montage Cave
Spoiler: show
Montage Cavern is a massive cave off of a nearby highway, no more than 5 miles from the closest city. A great many people come here to train; Martial artists, Pokemon Trainers with Fighting-Types, even some wild Fighting-Types stop by to spar on occasion. All Fighting-Type pokemon find themselves feeling very comfortable here, even if certain aspects of the cavern would usually make them uncomfortable. There are 5 rings in the cave, along with various pieces of training equipment; punching bags, dumbbells, and the like. All battles fought by Snorby, the overseer of this cave, are fought in the main ring, situated in the center of the cave. It is about 30x30 feet wide, and thick ropes surround the perimeter. These ropes are somewhat painful, and if a battler is thrown into them, they will sustain minor typeless damage as a result. The entire ceiling of the cave is littered with hundreds of thick stalactites; thus, while the roof of the cave itself is a soild 30 feet in the air, these stalactites restrict most movement to 15 feet off the ground. The stalactites are rather sturdy, and cannot be broken by attacks or any other means. They are so sturdy, in fact, that adept climbers weighing less than 70 lbs may hang on them and even climb between them. These pokemon may position themselves so the stalactites weaken incoming attacks; however, no stalactite is wide enough to outright block an attack. Thanks to the caves close proximity to a large urban area, Fairy-Type pokemon that are not also of the Fighting-Type find themselves very uncomfortable here. Snorby's fights are very popular with the people who train in the cavern, so a great deal of people and pokemon alike watch every match he has. These onlookers love Fighting-Types, and when they see a Fighting-Type get a KO, they go nuts. The cheering will boost the enthusiasm of any Fighting-Type that gets a KO. Onlookers also have an important job, however- to make sure no battler leaves the ring. Any pokemon currently battling that leaves the ring, be it purposefully or on accident, will be grabbed by the onlookers and tossed back into the ring where they were before they tried to leave. The round time is paused while this occurs. The onlookers are always rather loud and rambunctious, which makes Psychic-Types that are not also of the Fighting-Type lose focus, and thus uncomfortable. Thanks to Montage Cavern's ties to Apollo's Fighting Gym, it has been blessed with the same artificial red lighting, putting the arena under the effects of foresight permanently. As a mainly indoor arena with hardly any actual sunlight, the weather cannot change, and attacks such as Solarbeam or Moonlight that would generally require the user to be outside will fail.
Welcome to the pain train kiddies, squad up before I squeeze you like a slim jim.

Good luck Silent! Thanks for picking this up Miror c:

Simmer: level 2 female Monferno
Hidden Power Type: Grass

Fugalior "Fugly": Level 2 male Hawlucha
Hidden Power Type: Ghost

Special Attack: Rulebreak (DK)
For this attack, Fugly rushes his opponent while cloaked in Dark-Type energy, and deals Considerable Dark-Type damage upon contact for Significant energy. As he attacks, he kicks out one of his feet to knock his opponent over, interrupting any attack they were charging or starting to execute. This attack may be used up to twice per battle.

Cobain: Level 3 Male Machoke (uplevel)

Special Training: Smells Like Teen Spirit [Grass/Dark]
Cobain can now use the moves Night Daze and Seed Bomb, and has the offtype to use each twice per battle. He never learned the moves Brick Break, Superpower and Hidden Power.

Buranimi: Level 2 Female Meditite
Hidden Power Type: Water

Special Training: Mentally Unlocked [PS]
Due to her intense mental training, Buranimi can use her psychic powers for limited levitation. The technique costs Heavy energy to perform, and gives her a flight ceiling of five feet. This levitation will wear off after four rounds have passed She has also learned the move Teleport. Buranimi can no longer use Bulk Up, Gravity, Psycho Cut and Seismic Toss.

Verana: Level 2 Female Croagunk

Musullo: Level 2 Male Scraggy

Gl Snorby, and thanks Miror

Minato: Level 3 Genderless Metang
Hidden Power: Dark

Heatproof: (fire)
Thanks to his training, Metang has gained a natural resistance to the fire type. Instead of being super effective to fire, he now only takes neutral damage. Due to his high resistance to heat, he is somewhat more vulnerable to cold, thus ice type damage is now also neutral.

Shinji: Level 2 Male Hawlucha
Hidden Power: Fairy

Playing dirty: (varies)
Hawlucha has learned how to use Play rough and Sucker punch with the off type to use each twice per match.

Rise: level 2 Female ralts
Hidden Power: Fire

Enemy Radar: (psychic)
All of Ralt's non offensive moves are 15% faster to preform, and her light screen and reflect can take up to extreme amount of damage. Her defensive moves also take up an extra minors worth of energy to preform. Since she is more of a supporter than a fighter her offensive attacks are about 10% slower to preform.

Marie: Level 2 Female Masquerain
Hidden Power: Poison

Type change:Water/bug
Masquerain retains her typing as a Surkit, but with all of the perks of a Masquirain, except she is only familiar with the flying type rather than having infinite flying energy. She is also a slightly slower flyer since she prefers to stay in water, where she is more swift and proficient. She can no longer use substitue, silver wind, whirlwind, giga impact, and air cutter.

Junpei: Level 2 Male Quilava
Hidden Power: Grass

Type Change: Fire/Ground
Cyndaquil is now considered Fire/Ground with all of the weaknesses and resistances of the type. Due to his time training in the desert he has learned sand tomb, earth power, bulldoze, and mud bomb. The blue hair on his back is now the same complexity as sand, so he can hide better in sandy environments. Cyndaquil will feel more enthusiastic in hot and sandy environments, however, he will feel unenthusiastic in rainy and wet environments. Despite the look of his hands, he is an excellent digger like any other ground type. He has lost the use of the moves thrash, focus punch, smokescreen, double edge, and inferno. As a Typlosion he loses the use of solarbeam and giga impact.

Yosuke: Level 2 Male Frogadier
Hidden Power: Ground

Wind Shuriken: (flying)
Frogadier forms an orb imbued with flying type energy. The flying type energy forms spikes around the orb of water much like a shuriken. The orb is then thrown much like a shuriken. Upon contact the shuriken engulfs the opponent and sends them about 10 feet in the air, where the wind in the attack slices at them much like air cutter. Once the attack reaches its peak the shuriken explodes like a water pulse and sends them spiraling back down. This attack does heavy flying damage for major energy. Frogadier has the flying off type to use this twice per match.

Shinji, it's time to play.

Fugalior, show your fellow Hawlucha a thing or two.

QC Sub, with the real Fugly hanging out on a Stalactite, if it won't count as a move. Follow with an Air Cutter.

Take out the sub with an Air Cutter, and once you spot the real Hawlucha , loop around the stalactite and nail it with a Sky attack. Try to bring it down to the floor, pinning it under you face down, if you can. If it's not on a stalactite, use Sky attack still with the same game plan.

Two spheroids fly like their occupants as this cave cage match begins, with both capsules revealing the same occupant in the Hawlucha-off of the century. Shinji and Fugalior, or Thing 1 and Thing 2, stare each other down, feathered wings crossed as they size each other up. Fugalior's visage flickers briefly, evident to the careful eye that he has just created a substitute, while a flutter of wings makes evident the original's departure. Shinji notices none of this, however, and flaps his wings determinedly as small cutters of hardened energy travel quickly through the air, smashing against the image of the Hawlucha which crackles and dissipates, revealing the real Fugalior hanging from one of the many stalactites above. He chuckles as he sends more air cutters down from his vantage point, striking against Shinji who has no barrier to protect himself, leaving him screeching with anger and pain. Jumping into the air, Fugalior takes to the proverbial sky, glowing with a white energy as he attacks. Fugalior is struck hard in the back, smashed against the stalactite. Shinji finds himself unable pin though, as it would not only be another move but sky attack isn't exactly then pinning type, as well as his opponent still being on the stalactite.

Shinji has taken an early lead, with Fugalior almost out of his first third already. Energy use was similar, with Fugalior holding a slight lead, and all should be good for two. Silent to order.

Charge in and Play Rough with him, keeping him pinned face down on the stalactite. Follow it up with a Thunder punch, but if he isn't pinned Sky attack instead of thunder punch.

Acrobatics off your stalactite, attempting to dodge the Play Rough and strike. See if you can land in front of the ropes without it costing a move. ST Agility away from the Sky Attack.

The luchadors charge, one screeching at the more static one with the idea of playing a little bit rough with his dangling brother. Not interested in being pummeled, Fugalior presses his feet against the stalactite as he leaps off, Shinji's fist striking against the rock as he does so. The Gym Trainer's Hawlucha continues flying quickly around his foe, his acrobatics evident as he makes passing blows, being met with some punches as well as he flies about. Breaking away a few feet, Fugalior watches as the other wrestler prepares another sky attack, glowing white as the energy propels him forward. Fugalior uses his agility to dodge quickly out of the way, and Shinji flies past but turns, stopping mid air as he glares at his opponent.

Fugalior has closed the lead somewhat, but Shinji still is comfortably above him. Shinji is tiring and would like a break, and has one more use of Play Rough. Fugalior is good for two. MMS to order.

Open with a Sky Attack, then follow up with some more Acrobatics, timed to avoid some of the incoming attacks, if possible.

St Agility away from sky attack, hiding yourself under a boxing ring for cover(If you can crawl under these). If you cant get under the ring, head for the stalactites for cover instead.

Pretty much rinsing and repeating parts of the previous round, this time its Fugalior who rockets forward in an attack from the sky, and Shinji uses a quick burst of agility downwards, but unlike the previous round he finds himself just clipped by the attack, which sends him into a bit of a tumble. Landing outside the ring, he sees the spade to climb under, but just being in the area has sent the patrons into an uproar, who grab the little bird and throw him bodily back into the ring. As he rises, he finds his opponent all over him, once again acrobatically beating his face in as the crowd roars their support. Reeling back from the pain, the round ends with Fugalior panting but confident.

Fugalior is now in need of a rest, and took no damage. Shinji is pretty much at the midpoint for health, but is good for two after the easier round. Silent to order.

Acrobatics, timed to avoid some incoming attacks, if you can. Followed by another Play rough, attempting to wrestle it to the floor under you, if possible.

Shinji, jumping now
Acrobatics in action
Attempts to close ground.

Fugalior stares
Waiting for his moment, and
Stomps, the tomb erect.

Rocks lock into place,
Sealing the Hawlucha in.
It is time to rest.

The Hawluchas halt,
No damage was exchanged.
How boring. Snorby.

Roost. If he escapes the tomb and you get a chance, give him some Acrobatics to think about, otherwise Bulk Up a bit

Scream a Taunt at him, and then buff yourself with a Swords dance. If it decides to break your tomb with acrobatics, hit him with your own Acrobatics instead of swords dance.

Considering how incredibly boring this round ended up, I will summarize with a single haiku.

Roost blocked by a taunt,
Shinji dances in his tomb.
Silent to order.

Climbing about on the stalactites all the while, send him a Rock Slide to crush the tomb onto him. Sky Attack when you see an opening.

Being up on the stalactites, Fugalior looks down at the rock tomb below, and decides it's time his opponent faced the limelight. Raising one clawed hand as his feathers wave gently in the cavern air, he opens his fist, and then closes it as his eyes flash, and in an instant the walls of the tomb slide down onto its occupant. Giving a screech of pain, Shinji takes to the air with a display of acrobatics, flipping upward and then flying towards his hanging foe. A battle cry tears from his beak as he collides with Fugalior, bouncing nimbly off of the other Hawlucha and swiping at him as he passes, though he shuffles around the stalactite enough to avoid some of the damage. Now smarting, Fugalior uses a swift kick to rid himself of his opponent, and then dives downward in a sky attack. Shinji shakes his head clear as he flies upwards, also shining with the white energy indicative of the same maneuver. The two wrestlers collide, and an explosion rocks the stadium because lolwhynotit'sjustforflavoranyhow, and the two fighters emerge as a roar from the crowd eggs them on, both looking rather battered.

Both Hawlucha will be good for two, and Fugalior holds a slight lead going into this next round. Both are pretty far into their final thirds of health. Snorby to order.

Considering Fugalior was diving in his sky attack and momentum says lol, although he got punched he wasn't able to be distracted out of it, and so Shinji can be seen lying on the floor of the cave, his blacked out form being carried to whoknowswhere by the roaring crowd. Luchador out.

Shinji is unable to battle! Silent, please send out your next Pokemon!

Fugalior took a punch to the face, and is a bit above critical. He should still be good for two.
