Staryu (Water): Starmie and Staryu are, technically, blind. However, they use their senses, along with an excellent sense of touch, to detect opponents. Starmie and Staryu are capable of limited flight by using psychic energy. A Starmie or Staryu’s core is its most vulnerable point. While not as adept at psychic abilities as Starmie, Staryu are considered familiar with psychic abilities, and can use Psychic to lift Pokémon.

What are the limits to its senses as in; what will make unable to see. Example, would rock tomb block its "senses" from detecting something beyond the physical block of the rocks? Or can it see beyond thin walls and paint a picture of what goes on in its "mind"?

It can basically 'feel' air currents and changes in pressure and movement around it and build up a mental picture, kind of like a subtle sonar. Physical obstacles will block this, since there won't be any air currents coming through solid rock.

Mimic (NO) -- The user copies the technique that the target last used (barring signature moves), and now has the ability to use that attack for the rest of the battle, though not always at normal power, if at all. If the attack is, say, a water technique, and the Mimicer is a fire type, it won´t work. This technique does not perform the attack itself, the additional order must be given for the attack to be used. After the battle, the user forgets the attack.

Mimic does not distinguish between what my pokemon last saw, vs what the opponent last used. The description is for the latter though.

Can I contend an unfair play as things are not being defined correctly?

Well no, common sense comes into play here. If you don't see or sense something, how can you mimic it?

Before you say 'but it says last move used!', no. This is how Mimic has always worked and again, common sense. If you can think of a reason for a Pokémon to copy an attack that it's never seen, you can try to convince me.

There are two faulty parts with your argument. First is the weak definition of "Senses" for the Staryu SC which I would like a citation to where it was previously ruled to it only a "sonar" effect rather than a painting of what is around it based on its "senses".

Second, there is a written statement to how mimic should work as "what the opponent used last", and it was not clearly defined as to what "the user last sees". Which one takes precedence what is written or what is "common sense"?

Yeah if you're going to use us piecemeal to judge a reffing for you, link us to the match. This is a waste of everyone's time.

If the pokémon did not detect the move being used, it cannot Mimic it. There's your ruling.

Even if it had the typical Psychic senses that it would gain upon evolution, that wouldn't be much more than sensing where the opponent is, rather than having a full-blown 3D mental vision of it. Staryu's senses explicitly mention touch, because it feels the air moving around it from the opponent's movements, which gives it a greater field of view. Which means it's blocked by physical obstacles.

And again, common sense. You can't expect to mimic something that you can't see.

so this creates a paradox. If i could not see the second move my opponent used, then my mimic is a fluke. I can get to move forward my if order, right?

Reading that match, you definitely don't get to Mimic Baton Pass, at all.

That's not what Im contending; since i did not see the last move my opponent used... mimic is a fluke, wouldn't my if order take place?

That's one possibility. What ended up happening is an unlikely but also possible result of your orders so we'll be siding with the ref. Personally I'd have reffed your Staryu getting confused and doing neither action.

I sigged my Swablu with Relic Song x3 and Kush approved it. So I'm a bit confused. Since relic song has a close to 100% sleep rate, does it mean I can put the foe to sleep thrice? From a sportsmanship point of view, it's pretty unfair and a bit broken. So, err LOs?

Sleep clause still applies. Any pokemon that naturally learns sing can use it as much as they want, but they ain't getting sleep more than once. Just because you can use it three times doesn't mean it's going to keep working.

So sleep works once but acts like any other voice moves except it calms after the sleep clause is ttriggered?

So for hypnosis to work eye contact is needed right? Exeggcute got multiple pair of eyes. Does only one egg need the eye contact?
