As they ascended the flight, they noticed that the surroundings were a little more lavish than the lobby area; no expense had been spared when it came to decorating this area, with intricate gold decorations hanging along the length of the walls and glinting gently in the somewhat softer lighting of the surroundings. Finally, the pair come to the head of the stairs, pushing against two large, wooden doors. They move open with ease, a little creak resonating around the room, and Keith steps inside. He finds himself in an incredibly spacious room - likely situated just above the main room of the Casino itself, and certainly as large as the main floor. Numerous tables sporting different games were spread around the area, but much more interesting were the people - rather, the distinct lack of. The area was barely occupied, and every participant seemed to be dressed up in their absolute best, each sporting fancy apparel and dripping with an air of higher society. Keith is brought to his senses by a deep grunt, turning to his right to see a Machoke with his arms crossed, eyes narrowed and staring at Keith. After a while, the tensed Pokemon simply nods, turning back towards watching the others in the room, and at this point Keith notices others climbing the stairs now behind him, a rather weird group in their own right.

Bill and his Squirtle, Error the Magneton, Hyrem and his Froslass, Athena and her Snubbull all stood in the doorway, frozen in place by the beady eyes of the Machoke. It was clear that the Fighting type was becoming suspicious of such a large gathering of people, so it would likely be best for the group to split up as soon as possible. As those within the group look around to take in more of the surroundings, they realise three corridors leading deeper into the floor - with the door behind them situated at the south side of the room, the corridors each led off in the other three cardinal directions, north, east and west.
It was quite the brilliant plan on Ginny's part, to stay separate from the others, so as to not draw suspicion. A brilliant plan, with but one minor flaw- aforementioned brilliant plan was bound to occur to the others as well, and there were only so many different ways they could all go. Ginny felt like facepalming (faceblading? That sounds painful) as she realized that some of the others had followed them.

Keith had been looking around at the exceptionally lavish upstairs area, in which he looked quite out of place, considering he was in his usual Trainer attire. He had met the eyes of that suspicious Machoke, and seemed to successfully convince it that there was no reason to be suspicious of them. Only now, Keith noticed the group coming up the stairs behind him. He recognized Bill, who had spent a good chunk of years raising the Totodile that grew up to be Keith's Feraligatr, Gold. He recognized Hyrem, of course, though decidedly less familiar to him was the Froslass accompanying him. Athena he didn't recognize, though her Snubbull seemed startlingly familiar to him- wasn't that Jaws, the Snubbull Keith himself once owned? And to add to the familiar faces, if Keith had to guess, he would say that that Magneton belonged to his friend Jake.

Any other time, Keith would have been rather glad to see such a gathering of familiar and unfamiliar faces, happy to reunite with old friends while making new friends. Any other time, that would've been the case. Not so much while trying to avoid rousing suspicion in the Casino staff. And indeed, the Machoke from before? The arrival of these newcomers was not lost on it. Keith kept his cool, however, exchanging brief glances with his Pawniard as he looked around casually, barely acknowledging those in the doorway. The less reason the Machoke had to be suspicious, the better. He could see there were three other corridors besides the one through which Keith had entered. He looked around at them as though his intention the entire time had been to go through one of them, for that was exactly what he was trying to convince Machoke the case was. After a moment, he casually strolled off towards the west corridor, with Ginny by his side. What the others did was their own business, of course, provided none of them made Machoke even more suspicious than it already was.
