UPN PASBL: Eliteknight vs. Snorby

Eliteknight vs. Snorby
Turn order Preserved after KO Test
4 vs. 4
72 Hour DQ
Switch = OK
Equiall 6
Cave of Orgin
Spoiler: show
The Cave of Origin, the shrine to the clashing forces of land and sea, located deep below Sootopolis City. The shrine exists as a symbol of the constant battle between these forces, made even clearer by the clash that now exists within the cave itself. On one side, a flow of water cascades into the arena, meeting a floe of lava on the other, creating a significant stone platform in the center where the battlers fight. Both of these cascades have created small, shallow pools that can be used for fighting (though the magma has a Team Magma's forcefield over it to prevent accidents!) or used in moves.

Special test meant to see how something functions. Get your squads in and we'll get this underway.

Eliteknight 12-23-2016 10:39 AM

Good luck snorby! Thanks for taking this up connor

Bringing Swampertite

Level 7:

http://pasbl.upnetwork.net/xy/466.png Beric Dondarrion: Male Electivire
Species Characteristics: Electivire (Electric): Electivire are able to use their tails to channel Electric attacks. Direct contact with the foe using its tails will give a slight boost in the chance of paralysis for the attack and will make paralysis in the contact area far more likely. If hit by an Electric attack, Electivire will experience a surge of power and gain a slight boost to its speed for about a round. Electivire are able to recharge themselves more efficiently than other Electric types and, whenever they use only one attack in a round, they will automatically recover moderate energy at the end of the round. They are easier to anger than most Pokémon. They are resistant to moves which induce sleep or drowsiness and will recover more quickly from these conditions.
[Electric]: Electric types are resistant to paralysis inflicted by Electric-type moves, though they may be paralysed as normal by other methods. Electric types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. They have a high degree of control over their Electric type attacks, and as such they will suffer less from attempts to redirect them.
Biography: Beric is the leader of the brotherhood without Banners. He is a formidable warrior capable of being revived following being killed in battle. The red god which he follows with devotion giving him gifts in order to increase his strength. Once such gift was the great sword of ice he is capable of crafting using energy!
Signature: The Red God’s Gift! [Ice]
Using Significant Ice energy Beric summons a sword of ice energy, approximately 5 feet long in length, and slashes at his foe for significant ice type damage. Berics foe will feel chilled akin to icy wind after being struck with the Red God’s Gift. Beric has enough energy to use “The Red God’s Gift” Twice per battle. He can no longer use Shock wave or Wild Charge. Following the attack the sword vanishes.

Hidden Power: Ground

Level 6:

http://pasbl.upnetwork.net/xy/376.png Alarak: Genderless Dark Metagross
Species Characteristics: Metagross (Steel/Psychic): Large and bulky, Metagross now prefer to walk than to levitate. They can levitate but are slower than their pevious forms, with a lower flight ceiling. They are inorganic. Metagross are extremely intelligent and are more difficult to confuse or trick than normal. In its Mega Forme, Metagross's body doubles in its size and weight yet again, incorporating 4 new arms. In this Forme, it constantly levitates, though it is able to ground itself if desired. It can levitate with a good deal of speed, roughly at the same speed as Metang. Its claw or arm based attacks are x1.2 more effective.
[Steel]: Steel-type Pokémon generally have tempered bodies, meaning they take slightly reduced damage from physical attacks. Their Steel type attacks are more proficient at cutting through energy, allowing them to reduce damage while breaking through them, unlike other Pokemon. Most are so heavy that they will sink in water, so they stay away from deep-water sources if possible, though they are not bothered by water to the degree Rock-types are. Most Steel Pokémon prefer cold temperatures to hot ones. Steel-types are resistant to XX and take neutral damage from the damaging effects of Normal-type energy in the ASB, as opposed to resisted damage in the games. They are immune to the damaging effects of Poison-type energy and are difficult to poison.
[Psychic]: Psychic-type Pokémon are much more proficient with telekinesis than other Pokémon. Thus, they can use Psychic to move and manipulate targets with ease. Psychic type Pokémon are resistant to flinching, having higher levels of focus and concentration than other Pokémon. They are resistant to attacks which induce confusion or other mental effects. They have limited ability to read minds and are thus more adept at dodging attacks than might be expected and able to mitigate the effects of accuracy reducing attacks. This extends to GMs, where they will have a slightly better impression of Pokemon within their vicinity. Their Psychic support moves (such as Gravity and Magic Room) cost slightly less energy.
Biography: Alarak is the first ascendant of the Tal’darim. As first Ascendant he is able to learn more about how to manipulate his surroundings. And through that he was able to absorb dark energy into himself allowing him to become far more powerful!
Signature Trait: Alarak has learned how to use Stone edge and Dazzling Gleam, with enough energy to use each twice per battle. However he forgot to use psyshock, telekinetic psychic, pursuit, Zen Headbutt, Brick Break, grass knot, brick break, rock tomb he also can no longer use cubic versions of reflect or light screen
Hidden Power: Fire

http://pasbl.upnetwork.net/xy/89.png Qyburn: Male Muk
Species Characteristics: Muk (Poison): Muk are made up of poisonous substances made of liquid slime. Thus, toxic or polluted chemicals heal them instead of harm them. The same is true for poison attacks. Muk can see in the dark. Muk also leave poison in their path, poisoning the ground and leaving a substance that can cause minor poisoning to Pokémon if they come in contact with it. They are also very flexible, and can fit through gaps that most Pokémon of their size couldn't. Their bodies absorb physical blows, and physical projectiles, making all attacks in these manners 80% effective. However, as the slime is liquidized, they take slightly more damage from electric attacks.
[Poison]: Poison-type Pokémon are immune to poisoning. Their Poison-type attacks are slightly more likely to succeed in poisoning their targets than those used by other Pokémon and the effects will be slightly more potent. They also have an additional 10% chance to poison the target when using physical attacks with their most venomous appendages e.g. a Seviper’s tail, a Nidoking’s horn.
Biography: Qyburn has spent his life wondering why does he have a move ocean no containing sucker punch and water gun. His ocean has expanded with the tide, but decreased in another area.
Qyburn can now use sucker punch and water gun having 2 Ice beams of energy for each. Grimer has lost the usage of sludge wave, body slam, fire punch, fire blast, confide, haze, shadow punch and taunt.

Hidden Power: Ground

http://pasbl.upnetwork.net/xy/272.png Doran Martell: Male Ludicolo
Species Characteristics: Ludicolo (Water/Grass): Though able to swim and stay underwater for a fair amount of time, Ludicolo are not the best swimmers and prefer to stay near the surface of the water. They benefit from rain much more than other Grass Pokémon and fight more enthusiastically in the rain. Dancing-related moves used by Ludicolo are slightly more potent, and a Rain Dance performed by Ludicolo will last one round longer.
[Water]: Water-type Pokémon are generally able to hold their breath and/or breathe underwater. The time varies, from several rounds in the case of birds, mammals and reptiles to indefinitely for fish and squid like Pokémon. They are generally good swimmers, with fish excelling the most, and are better at manipulating Water for moves like Surf and Whirlpool than other Pokémon, using less energy to do so even outside of water. Their Surf and Whirlpool attacks do not lose potency when used without a water source.
[Grass]: Grass-type Pokémon live anywhere that can support vegetation and are adept at concealing themselves in such places. They enjoy both bright sun and rain and fight more enthusiastically in the day time, though they are not put off by fighting at night. Rainstorms will heal them slightly every round the rain falls, while very bright sunlight will regenerate their energy instead. Their healing moves cost slightly less energy and their draining moves will heal them by a greater amount while suffering only half of the usual diminishing returns. They are immune to spore based techniques like Sleep Powder and are more adept at using such attacks themselves, creating denser concentrations of spores which are harder to disperse and more potent in their effects. Any attack used by Grass-types manipulating the environment is slightly more potent, and their Grass-type attacks which utilise plant foliage (such as Razor Leaf) are more efficient in natural environments.
Biography: Doran is the king of Dorne, to his foes he appears to be a very passive leader. However he is incredibly cunning and is the Grass that hides the Viper. He however has had to take up arms against his foes and learned some new powerful techniques.
Signature: The King of Dorne [Various]
Doran can now use earthquake and stone edge having enough energy to use each twice per battle. He however can no longer use water gun, bullet seed, rain dance, water pulse, double team, brick break, blizzard and razor leaf

Hidden Power: Default

http://pasbl.upnetwork.net/xy/260.png http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/260-m.png Bon Scott: Male Swampert
Species Characteristics: Swampert (Water/Ground): Being a wet and slimy Pokémon, attacks involving grabs or holds are difficult to execute and prevents them from being affected by Electric attacks when wet. They may also use their fins to detect things happening in the arena, allowing a better idea of where foes are even when disguised. Their mud based attacks are more effective than normal. As starter Pokémon, their Water-type attacks are slightly more powerful when they drop below 1/3 health. In its Mega Forme, Swampert has turned into a very powerful, muscular brawler. Its increased upper body strength allows fro more powerful grapples and punches, increasing the power of melee moves by x1.2. They have also become extremely powerful swimmers, able to outspeed and outmaneuver the average bipedal swimmer in the water.
[Ground]: Ground-type Pokémon are considered to be immune to electricity while standing on the ground. If a Ground Pokémon is in the air, they take 0.75x the usual damage from Electric-type attacks, and will take neutral damage from Electric when wet. Ground types do not suffer from recoil damage when using Electric attacks in the water. Ground-type Pokémon are more adept at manipulating outdoor and 'natural' environments than other Pokémon and will spend less energy using Dig, Earthquake etc. This allows them to use Ground attacks on any surface, with the exception of Dig. They can also cause the ground to shake more vigorously when using Earthquake and Bulldoze.
Biography: Bon is the former lead singer of AC/DC. He is sings on legendary songs such as Whole Lotta Rosie, Highway to Hell, T.N.T., and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. His former life of crime made him the perfect frontman for the dangerous rock and roll group. His screaming vocals provide great emotion into many a song he has sung. Hidden Power: Flying

http://pasbl.upnetwork.net/xy/474.png Dr. X: Genderless Porygon-Z
Species Characteristics: Porygon-Z (Normal): Porygon-Z are created entirely of programming code. Due to data corruption, they have slightly higher offences than other Pokémon at the cost of lower defences. Porygon-Z are also capable of separating their heads and moving independently of their body (including full 360-degree rotation without having to turn), but the head cannot go beyond or be forced more than half a foot away from its body. They levitate by default, their sleek design and advanced technology making them faster and more agile most levitating Pokémon. They are inorganic and fight most enthusiastically in man made environments. They are familiar with the Electric type.
[Normal]: Normal-type Pokémon are able to use support moves to greater effect than other Pokémon, with them being performed slightly quicker and being slightly more potent. Being beings of great balance, they benefit more from the positive effects of weather and other arena affecting moves, but will not suffer as badly from the negative effects. In the ASB, Normal-types take resisted damage from the damaging effects of Ghost-type energy.
Biography: Dr.X is the leader of the revolutionary group within the album Operation: Mindcrime. He is a master of manipulation being able to manipulate his surroundings. His goal to eliminate all in his path by any means necessary.

Hidden Power: Fighting

Snorby 12-23-2016 10:54 AM

This should be fun. Good luck EK, thanks to Connor for reffing.

Bringing the Metagrossite and the Buffer Badge and Reaper's Token; if you're gunning hard for a gym, I should be taking you seriously c;

Buffer Badge
The Buffer Badge is bestowed upon all those strong enough in both mind and body to overcome the Gym of Enlightenment. The badge itself is a translucent, blue pane of glass that rests atop a similarly translucent pink cube. Light refracts off of the badge when looked at from most angles, and the badge has a strange effect in that it will repel slightly from your hand, just barely grazing the palm rather than resting comfortably.
Badge Effect: Screen Enhancement
When the Buffer Badge is in use, the owner's Pokemon will all find themselves more adept at using the moves Reflect, Light Screen, and Barrier. Cubic Screens will last for an extra two rounds, while Pane Screens are now able to take an additional light amount of damage before shattering. All screens will also go up instantaneously, similar to the abilities of a Mr. Mime.
Pangari: Level 7 Female Gengar (Uplevel)
HP Bug
Reaper's Token Attached
Special Attack: SLAMDUNK!!! (GH)
Pangari conjures a basketball hoop tailored to the size of the opponent with Major Ghost energy as her hands rush out to grab the foe. Her hands move incredibly fast and will outspeed most attacks, even interrupting current attacks thanks to the sudden force of the grab. The hands will pick the opponent up, fly them through the air at an incredible speed, and then slam into the hoop, dunking the opponent through it and sending them crashing down to the ground below. This attack deals Major Ghost-Type damage. While Pangari is lifting her opponent for this attack, her opponent will feel no heavier to her than a Basketball, so this attack may be used on any Pokemon, even if Pangari would normally be unable to pick them up. This may be used, at most, three times in a a given battle.

Mercury: Level 6 Male Gallade
HP Fairy
Special Training: Don't Stop Me Now! [XX]
Mercury's Special Attacks hit Ghosts as though they're in the ethereal state, and his Physical Attacks hit Ghosts as though they're in the solid state. Mercury cannot use Thief, Shadow Sneak, Disarming Voice, Dazzling Gleam, Magical Leaf, Psyshock, and Secret Power, however.

Guildmaster: Level 6 Male Wigglytuff
HP Ground
Special Training: The Guildmaster's Rage (XX)
Guildmaster's damaging sound-based attacks deal x1.2 the damage they normal would. The effects of non-damaging sound attacks will be more potent, working as if all foes had sensitive hearing. Guildmaster never learned Hyper Beam, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, and ThunderPunch.

Tartar Sauce: Level 6 Female Tyranitar
HP Bug
Type Change: Why does Rock suck so much? (DK)
Tartar Sauce is now a pure Dark-Type, with all weaknesses and resistances associated with that typing, though she retains a weakness to Grass-Type moves. She is now simply familiar with the Rock type, and has lost access to Stealth Rock, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, and Rock Polish as a result of his type change. Her body is no longer filled with sand, disallowing him from generating his own Sandstorm attacks. She may no longer use the moves Whirlpool, Focus Blast, Earth Power, Dragon Pulse, and Iron Tail. This sig has no effects in the Larvitar and Pupitar stages.

Frieda: Level 6 Female Goodra
HP Ghost
Special Attack: Flash Bomb (NO)
Using Heavy energy, Frieda forms an orb and hurls it toward the opponent. Once nearby the opponent, it will explode, dealing Considerable damage and having a 20% chance to Burn, a 30% to Paralyze, and a 40% chance to Confuse the target. Only one status may occur at a time. Flash Bomb has a fairly sizable blast radius, making it difficult to dodge. This attack may be used three times in a given battle. Frieda cannot use Shock Wave, Focus Punch, Outrage, and Muddy Water.

Foo: Level 6 Genderless Metagross
HP Grass
Metagrossite Attached
Special Attack: Tactical Retreat (ST)
Using Heavy Steel energy, Foo slams one of his legs into the ground, creating a shock wave that will strike the opponent. This will drop both their physical and special defenses by one stage, though the attack deals no damage. This drop fades the same way any other would. Foo uses leftover energy to switch out for a teammate, even if the match is Switch = KO. Alternatively, Foo may use this attack directly on the opponent, rushing them and striking them directly, for the same effects. This is a rather fast attack and its therefore difficult to outpace. If the attack does not affect the opponent, Foo will still switch out, but the attack instead costs Major energy.

Edited b/c forgot to mention that Gengar has the reaper's token. EK okay'd this.

Eliteknight 12-23-2016 11:00 AM

Dr X floating at the top of your height ceiling!

Hit her with a Tri attack then follow up with a Tri attack! Be wary of their fighting moves if it uses one make a qc sub in order to protect yourself

Snorby 12-23-2016 11:07 AM

Dragonbreath. If he's paralyzed, Toxic. If not, take his second Tri Attack and fire back with a Focus Blast

Connor 12-23-2016 02:01 PM

The air in the cavern hangs heavy, humidity meeting intense temperature to create a dizzying mixture. The sticky sensation of the air only manages to add to the heady tension which has taken hold of the area, with two trainers standing off against one another. One framed by raging sea, the other by ferocious lava, the pair lock eyes and quickly conjure their first combatants into battle. Thudding down with a stalwart stance, Frieda wears a wide grin as her senses take hold and she easily locates the target, Dr. X erratically jutting his head through the air as he floats down over the lava.

Wasting no time, the movements of Dr. X become abruptly still as his eyes focus in on his foe, a mechanically unnerving titter escaping from his body as his systems kick into gear. Gathering energies, the Porygon creates a triad of spheres out of thin air, each shining with an intense aura. These constructs whirl around one another to create a single, flashing ring, before Dr. X projects a beam directly into the chest of his foe. Though she grimaces, Frieda bats barely an eyelid, and opens her mouth wide to retaliate. Spewing forth a faint mist of turquoise flame, she chuckles as it washes over Dr. X, leaving the Porygon shuddering with his typical, frenzied movements. He soon manages to take control of his faculties once again though, focusing on Frieda. Taking a moment to decide on the best course of action, he once again creates a whining ring of energy, flashing a spiraling beam into the body of Frieda, but this time the Goodra guffaws despite the pain. Opening her arms wide, she creates a small sphere of dark blue energy which abruptly bursts into a much larger, distinctly dangerous orb. With a cry, Frieda hurls the mighty construct through the air, shrieking with laughter as it bursts over the body of Dr. X and sends him into a wild thrashing of pain.

Dr. X trailing by a ways already, creeping into his second third while Frieda remains in her first. Both pretty fresh, Frieda with about Rock Smash of Fighting remaining.

Snorby 12-23-2016 02:19 PM

Infestation to disorient him, then blow a Dragonbreath

Eliteknight 12-23-2016 08:48 PM

Just stating that im editing in a signature approved prior to this threads creation that i somehow missed. Snorby has given permission via discord.

Connor 12-24-2016 04:41 AM

Am already aware, don't worry.

Eliteknight 12-29-2016 01:52 PM

Send the infestation back with a dragon!twister then follow up with an ice beam

Connor 01-18-2017 09:55 AM

Not wanting to give her opponent much room to breathe, Frieda spreads her arms wide, her eyes flashing with a dull beige colour as she calls upon unfamiliar forces. Buzzing into the air around her, numerous orbs of pale energy flicker into existence, their chorus thrum causing Dr. X to twitch with irritation. Still, the Porygon manages to focus his mind, spinning his head erratically as he gathers a raucous crimson energy around himself. As Frieda sends her curtain of beige orbs towards him, Dr. X unleashes a forceful blast of roaring energy, the funnel managing to dispel a good deal of the incoming orbs. Despite this, a number manage to latch onto Dr. X all the same, leaving the Porygon stuttering in mid air. Finding amusement in this, Frieda rears her head backwards, allowing a pale turquoise mist to begin flowing from within her clamped jaws. With a demure groan, she sends a flowing mist out over the field, the attack engulfing Dr X entirely. As it begins to fade, it becomes painfully evident for his trainer that Dr. X is caught in the throes of paralysis, small orange bolts jumping across the surface of his body.

Dr. X is paralysed and trailing slightly, though he cut well into Freida's lead this round, knowing her into her second third. Freida good for two while her foe is fresh as he can be. Infestation will take a slight effect, inducing some of the irritation while not quite managing the damage output.

Eliteknight 01-21-2017 05:01 PM

Tri attack twice, if there is a screen going up use a QC sub instead

Snorby 01-29-2017 01:06 PM

Switching out for Mercury.

Focus Blast while he's paralyzed, then follow up with a Brick Break.

Eliteknight 01-30-2017 05:27 PM

Flying! Twister then follow up with a Zap Cannon as he comes in for the brick break

Connor 02-07-2017 11:44 AM

Deciding her job done for now, Frieda is called back to her Poke Ball by her trainer, replaced by the eager figure of Mercury. Wasting no time, the bladed Fighting type brings his arms together, creating a roaring sphere of intense blue energy. Dr. X tries to gather his own attack, but his movements are slowed, and before he knows it the orb is hurtling towards his body. With a sickening crack, the energy explodes over the body of the Porygon, and Dr. X hisses in protest. He is quick to respond, creating a whirling column of compact wind and sending it roaring towards Mercury, but the Gallade manages to take the incoming blow like a stalwart. Lunging forwards, Mercury raises one of his arms high into the air, but as he does so Dr. X creates a vicious orb of crackling yellow energy. With a garbled cry, the Porygon sends the orb crawling through the air, and the slow pace combined with the distance between the two allows Mercury to shuffle to one side, still landing his blow thanks to his extending arm. However, unfortunately for him, his reactions were not quite good enough to see him avoid the entirety of the incoming blast.

Mercury took a fair hit already and looks fairly paralysed, but Dr. X was knocked well into the final third this round. Mercury fresh while Dr. X is good for two.

Eliteknight 02-07-2017 11:56 AM

Shadow ball twice, if you see some sort of screen go up switch the latter for a qc sub

Snorby 02-07-2017 02:03 PM

Smack him with a Drain Punch the second the paralysis leaves you. Vacuum Wave if he's still standing.

Connor 02-08-2017 06:40 PM

Not one to take a beating without handing some of the pain back himself, Dr. X creates a roiling orb of darkest purple, the foul energies quickly folding together. Dark bolts of lightning dance across the surface, and with a garbled cry the technological feat sends the orb hurtling forwards. It smashes into the chest of Mercury, showering the Gallade in the spectral force, but he grunts, gritting his teeth. Launching forwards, he slams a glowing blade into the body of his foe, sucking the last dregs of Dr. X's vitality. With a feeble whine, the Porygon drops to the floor in defeat.

Dr. X is unable to battle! Eliteknight, your next Pokemon please.

Mercury remains looking peppy enough, just about to enter his second third.

Given the nature of the battle, I need Eliteknight to select a Pokemon to send out first, then Snorby to provide orders, and finally EK to provide orders.

Eliteknight 02-09-2017 10:42 AM

Holy Shit Gallade is Bonkers

Snorby 02-11-2017 02:46 AM

Fire Punch if he gets in close, Shadow Ball if he keeps his distance. End with a Night Slash either way.

(no 3 obv)

Eliteknight 02-14-2017 01:21 PM

Get in nice and close setting up a reflect then follow up with a dazzling gleam as you back away

Connor 02-16-2017 11:52 AM

With Dr. X having fallen, his trainer calls Alarak into battle, the hefty Metagross grunting as he thuds down into the arena. His small eyes narrow as his gaze falls upon Mercury, and the cumbersome beast lurches forwards across the ground. As he moves, the cross shaped over his face begins to pulse with a vibrant pink energy, and Mercury, having readied his own attack, notices all too late what was about to occur. As the Gallade lunges forth, his arm blazing with a flickering cloak of flame, he finds himself met with intense resistance. His arm jars as it comes crashing into the screen conjured by Alarak, cracks flitting across the surface despite the construct remaining intact. Hissing his indignance, Mercury brings his left arm swinging around, already encompassed by a darkened aura. The energy shimmers in the air as Mercury brings his bladed arm across the surface of his foes' protection, the screen shattering, but Alarak counters in due time. His body shines with an intense pink light before a glaring sphere smashes into the body of Mercury, causing him to take a few staggering steps back.

Mercury knocked into his second third, Fire and Dark at roughly half but good for two. Alarak went unharmed and is fresh enough, Fairy at half.

Eliteknight 02-28-2017 06:58 PM

Continue backing away while launching a pair of flash cannons. If a screen goes up switch one for a meteor mash

Snorby 02-28-2017 11:08 PM

This is why you don't order at 3 AM kids.

Shadow Ball, DC Earthquake, Night Slash

3 moves, 0 mercy.
