Desert: The Desert arena is situated amidst huge sand dunes. The elevated sand will provide unstable footing at best for those unsuited to navigating the arena, and the intense heat will render Water and Ice type Pokemon uncomfortable, while the arid conditions will leave Grass type Pokemon unfamiliar with the environment uncomfortable. Beneath the surface of the sand are numerous large rock suitable for use in attacks like Stealth Rock, and there are likewise boulders jutting from the surface of the dunes which can provide cover for smaller Pokemon and be used to fuel attacks such as Rock Slide. Within reason, if one of the batters mentions positioning of an arena aspect, the battler is considered to be correct unless it contradicts a previous statement.

The hot desert sun bears down harshly on the two trainers gathered beneath it. While their sweat is made apparent by their matted down hair and dampened clothing, the calm looks on their faces shows both are feeling quite at home in this environment. Which they should be, since on one end is our resident Ground GL and LO Connor, while the aspiring Dragon GL Mew stands on the other. Will he be able to pull of the reverse of what Connor did only a few months back?

Mew The Gato 04-07-2015 04:31 AM

Thank you for refereeing, Sparkbeat! Good luck, Connor, but I probably need it more right now.

Just a note before I post my squad, though; we decided on changing it to Switch = Gym.

Connor 04-07-2015 05:00 AM

Oh yeah. Should have mentioned that. I suck, and all that.

Mew The Gato 04-07-2015 05:51 AM

Fírnen: Level 7 Male Flygon (Uplevel) (Feer-nin)

Spoiler: show

Flygon (Ground/Dragon): Flygon are not as proficient at digging as their basic form but can still conceal themselves well within sandy environments and fight more enthusiastically in them. Flygon’s shielded eyes are adapted to seeing in a sandstorm and such are not hindered in heavy sand or fog. Flygon can see in the dark and are resistant to light based attacks targeted at the eyes such as Flash. They are agile fliers, though not exceptionally fast, and are familiar with the Bug type. Because they flap their wings so quickly and produce a near ultrasonic but distracting noise, attacks which use their wings to strike have a 10% flinch chance against its targets.
Fírnen, as expected, had lived in the desert for a long time, and was born in those harsh conditions, having to deal with the lack of water, and arid, hot weather. During his younger years, he struggled to keep up with his burning feet and eyes, his only place of relief being the cool sand inside the burrows that he made. He had to often work extremely hard in search of food, a lot of the desert Pokemon being extremely wary, making sure that they do not get trapped in the traps in the sand that he made. Starvation was constantly a problem, and he had to go without food quite often. Not only that, but the predators were a threat, too. In his weak form, most other desert Pokemon could eat him up.

These conditions, however, only served to make Fírnen tougher. By the time he joined the squad, he was an extremely determined Pokemon, and always made sure to make things that he wants happen. Although his courageous behaviour was hard to cope with sometimes, it was also a source of inspiration for the shier members of the squad, who were not as willing or enthusiastic about performing dangerous deeds. Fírnen has now become a source of hope for the whole squad when things do not look good.

Hidden Power: Steel

Special Training: Persistence

Whenever he takes first super effective damage from an attack, Fírnen shall have his physical Attack boosted out of frustration, depending on how powerful the move was. If the move is super effective (Grass, Ice and Water in the case of Trapinch, Dragon and Fairy in the case of Vibrava and Flygon), he shall get a boost similar to the boost from Power-Up Punch. If he is hit by a doubly super effective attack (Ice in the case of Vibrava and Flygon, not applicable in the case of Trapinch), he shall get a boost similar to one from Swords Dance. Standard boost stipulations apply. Fírnen can only get a boost from this once per match. Due to spending so much time in the desert, Fírnen never learnt how to use Giga Drain, Toxic, Hyper Beam, along with Swords Dance and Giga Impact as Flygon.

Saphira: Level 6 Female Sapphire Blue Dragonite (Suh-fear-uh)

Spoiler: show

Dragonite (Dragon/Flying): Despite their short wings, Dragonite can fly well. However, they are more speed fliers than finesse fliers and need a good distance to turn at high speeds. On the ground and in the water, they can move and dodge at a decent speed. They have decent vision in low light environments.
Saphira used to be a very timid and weak Dragon Type, nigh useless in a battle despite her species' reputation of being incredibly powerful Pokemon. This stemmed from the fact that she was not very sure of her capabilities, which prevented her from battling to her full potential. More and more losses only added to her despair, and she started to consider herself inferior to other Pokemon. This troubled and saddened her a lot, and the more doubtful about herself that she got, the worse the problem became. She seemed to grow more and more distracted in battle, always expecting the worst outcome and worrying about the consequences prematurely.

A few of the squad members concluded that the best way to restore her confidence was to provoke and anger her. A few of the prank-loving squad members started teasing her. Although Saphira did not pay attention to them at first, she eventually grew so angry that she started attacking them, genuinely scaring them enough to run away. After she calmed down, the squad pointed out that her display of power had been quite extraordinary. This incident managed to remove Saphira's insecurities, much to the relief of the rest of the squad.

Hidden Power: Steel

Special Training: Confidence

Saphira is much less prone to negative mental effects, including but not limited to confusion and sleep. She is more difficult to intimidate than other Pokemon, and is less vulnerable to flinching. However, Saphira can no longer use Draco Meteor and Hydro Pump.

Neela: Level 6 Male Druddigon (Knee-laa)

Spoiler: show

Druddigon (Dragon): Druddigon are very cold-blooded. In the sun and warmer temperatures, they will fight with great enthusiasm, but in cold temperatures or if chilled, they will quickly grow sluggish. Their skin is very tough and scaly and their body is covered in spikes; both of these factors will cause 25% recoil to physical attacks against it.
Neela has been living for an unusual amount of years, having an incredibly long lifespan, like most Dragon Types. Before meeting the legendary Mew and joining the squad, Neela used to live in a dark cave, one rich in metal ores. He did not live in the cave previously, but had had a great battle with another Druddigon over territory. After being defeated, he had come to the cave in order to recover. Neela found it difficult to see in the darkness, and often roamed around, lost and looking for hunt down. He survived by making short work of travelling Pokemon, his presence eventually causing the population of Pokemon in the cave to decrease, the Druddigon often breaking through entire groups of Pokemon to hunt.

Neela often dug in the cave floor, intending to find some small Bug Types. Digging with his sharp claws, he found an abundance of metal ores. These greatly fascinated him, and he would often spend his free time observing them. Due to this, he hoarded and carefully guarded a lot of metals which were considered extremely valuable in the past. The few travelers who survived an encounter with him often spoke tales of how a huge, draconic creature jealously guarded treasure and struck down any who dared to trespass, their stories being exaggerated due to their fear. This was a source of many legends, others making up stories of how particularly Aegislash or Escavalier went to take down this Dragon Type. Of course, all of these were made up.

Eventually, Neela determined that he had to restore his lost honour due to his previous defeat, and went to reclaim what he considered his territory by challenging the other Druddigon. The fight was extremely intense, but this time, Neela used his observations of the ores to his advantage, managing to use some Steel Type energy to empower his own attacks, and manage to tank through those of his opponent, managing to finally seize victory, and reclaim his territory, until Mew visited, and he joined the other members of the squad.

Hidden Power: Ground

Special Training: Steeling One's Will

Neela can choose to expend light Steel Type energy to give any of his physical attacks a coat of metal, which allows them to break through other attacks with greater ease, similar to an usual Steel Type move. However, he can only take advantage of this as long as he still has Steel Type energy remaining. Charging a move with this metal coating does not count as an additional move. Along with this, Neela has slightly more of Steel Type energy than other Druddigon, enough for two Flash Cannons. These charged moves do not deal more damage than usual, or change Type in any way. As a drawback that he developed during his time in the cave, due to his affinity for the Steel Type, Neela is no longer resistant to the Fire Type, but neutral to it.

Terrainium: Level 6 Male Garchomp

Spoiler: show

Garchomp (Dragon/Ground): Garchomp are capable of limited flight, though this is essentially high speed gliding. They can fly moderate distances and at a good height but are not very maneuverable in the air. They are also very quick when digging near the surface of the ground and will deal slightly more damage with Dig. They can see in the dark. Any Pokémon that strikes Garchomp with a physical attack will suffer 25% recoil damage from their rough skin, unless their bodies are particularly hard. Their biting attacks are more effective, dealing 1.2x more damage than usual. They are able to disguise themselves well in sandstorms and sandy arenas.
Terrainium was always considered to be out of place. He resembled a mighty Sharpedo in appearance somewhat, but was nowhere as powerful, or capable of swimming. If he tried to swim, he sank like a rock. He was the only Gible in the society of Pokemon, so no one knew anything about the species, and thought that Terrainium was a mutant Pokemon, since he resembled a shark, yet could not swim. A strange fact was that Terrainium could not swim despite the fact that Dragon Types are generally considered good swimmers.

Terrainium wanted to get to the bottom of this. Why was he the only Dragon Type in the society who could not swim? Finally, he decided that he had to learn how to swim, after all. His self esteem depended on it. He, however, did not want anyone to see him while doing so, since the fact would embarrass him greatly. Instead, he chose to practice swimming alone.

His first attempt went horribly. He hopped into a pond, thinking that he could finally manage to swim. Having seen the other Pokemon, it did not seem to difficult to him... that is, until he began to swim. Terrainium struggled, and somehow managed to reach the shore, panting heavily. For several days, Terrainium was traumatized by this event, too scared to attempt again. Just seeing any water body made him shudder, and so did any Water Type moves. He had nearly escaped death, and this was just too much for a Pokemon as young as him. The worst part was that he could not tell anyone about his experience without the risk of being humiliated in public.

However, a thought suddenly struck him while he was digging through the soil a few days later. He could traverse through the soil so well, yet had never tried to utilize the same movements for swimming. Following this, he finally gathered the courage to try again... and this time, actually managed to start swimming slowly.

His speed, however, was too slow. This was similar to traversing through the soil, but not quite the same. Once again, Terrainium was discouraged. His hope was washing away just like the water he wanted to swim well in. What could he do? Without anyone else, he would never be able to swim properly, like other Dragon Types.

That is, until he was joined by Draco, the Dratini swimming gracefully in the water near Terrainium. The older Dragon turned her head to face him, an expression on her face indicating calmness, but also surprise at Terrainium finally having learned to swim. As it turned out, Draco had been overseeing Terrainium all along, being the best Dragon Type swimmer of all the ones Terrainium knew about. The Dratini kindly offered to help Terrainium out.

At first, Terrainium was embarrassed that his secret had been revealed. Quite apprehensively, he asked Draco to not tell anyone else, neither Pokemon, nor human. Draco wholeheartedly agreed, which led to Terrainium accepting her offer. The female gracefully showed Terrainium the ways in which he was supposed to move his body through the water. Having limbs was a boon when it came to swimming. It was not difficult to maintain balance because of them.

Terrainium grew better and better as time passed, eventually even matching Draco herself in terms of swimming. Terrainium was grateful to Draco for all the help that she had provided him, and overjoyed to now have overcome his fear. As for Draco, she was proud to have managed to have taught Terrainium enough for him to turn one of the best at the skill.

However, despite what you would think, this did not have a direct role in making his Signature, no. What actually shaped it was the fact that Terrainium now swam more than he dug underground. His body changed to match this new environment, the water having a strange effect on it.

Hidden Power: Steel

Special Resistance: Water Body

Terrainium, due to having taken so many dips in the water, is now neutral to Ice Type Moves, as opposed to weak to them. However, due to the water's effect on him, Terrainium has lost his resistance to Fire and immunity to Electric, becoming neutral to both.

Sunhairi: Level 6 Female Shiny Altaria

Spoiler: show

Altaria (Dragon/Flying): Altaria's song-based attacks are slightly more effective than normal. On a cloudy day, Altaria can be sightly difficult to see in the air. They are strong fliers and surprisingly fast.
Sunhairi, in the past, was a huge, magnificent Altaria, who constantly glowed with an aura of light. She, along with Vishaal and Prithviraj, had lived in ancient times, having existed even before the birth of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. However, a most terrible disaster befell her home in the sky. Unlike Vishaal and Prithviraj, she was unable to retreat to safety. With all her strength, she endured the disaster... before she could take no more. Even her fearsome might was overcome by the catastrophe. While she sung a hauntingly beautiful, yet extremely sad Perish Song, her body was destroyed. Her life force, however, managed to endure, taking the form of a golden Pokemon Egg, in which form she rested for years to come.

Until recently, the Pokemon Egg had not been disturbed. It had remained in its place. However, while flying through the sky, Greeny noticed it. Due to the Egg's colour, he thought it was his favourite kind of berry, but when he touched it, the Pokemon Egg suddenly exploded in a burst of golden light. From it rose Sunhairi as a Swablu, who Greeny decided to take back to the squad. Still remembering the past before she "died", Sunhairi is a wise and proud Pokemon. She still glows with a blinding aura during battle, being able to control its intensity and make it die down when not threatened. Truly, among the Pokemon of the squad, she is one of the most graceful and majestic.

Hidden Power: Electric

Signature Trait: Bird of Light

Sunhairi constantly glows with a blinding, scorching aura during battle. Due to this, Sunhairi can be difficult to aim at, considering looking at her directly only serves to debilitate vision by a good amount. Furthermore, the heat produced by the aura weakens Ice Type moves that go through the aura by a fair amount. However, physical contact with this aura will not have any adverse effects. Due to having turned back into a Pokemon Egg, however, Sunhairi has forgotten how to use some of her moves, namely Power Swap, Tailwind and Heal Bell. As an Altaria, Sunhairi shall not be resistant to the Fire Type, but neutral to it.

Item Attached: Altarianite

Drago: Level 6 Male Green Tyrantrum

Spoiler: show

Tyrantrum (Rock/Dragon): Tyrantrum have powerful jaws, giving a 20% boost to all biting attacks. They are also rather temperamental, making them more vulnerable to rage-inducing moves, but they will have a greater attack boost as a result.
Drago, like most of his species where he used to live, is completely green in colouration, including his claws and underside. The exception is the yellow stripe under his neck.

Drago was a Tyrunt born on the Drago Plateau. Most of his species is temperamental, territorial and easy to anger. However, the Tyrunt and Tyrantrum living on the Drago Plateau were not so. They lived secluded, peaceful lives. They were gentle creatures who rarely exerted their immense strength. There was harmony between the different families of Dragon Types that lived there. Even small Pokemon and inexperienced trainers were permitted there to marvel at the appearance of the rare, giant creatures, which would never be so had they lived up to the reputation of their species. They welcomed visitors readily, and while the Tyrunt played, the Tyrantrum simply looked on at the amusing sight.

The Drago Plateau hosted not only Pokemon from the Tyrunt line, but also many others, including, but not limited to, the Skorupi, Vullaby, Bonsly and Phantump lines. There are also Pokemon from the Aron lines present, but like the others, they are generally docile. Although the Tyrunt and Tyrantrum do not hunt, mostly feeding on berries, they also often feed on iron ores, which are abundant in the area. This is especially emphasized during the Tyrunt stage, where the Pokemon are constantly growing larger and stronger.

However, the large amount of iron ores present in the area also attracted people to set up mining industries, disturbing the Pokemon in the area. However, due to their peaceful nature, they did not attack. Noticing the fact that the Drago Plateau was home to rare and powerful, yet docile Pokemon, many of which would be very useful as beasts of labour and doing manwork, many of the Pokemon were captured. This included Drago. His task was to regularly dig underground and help out in mining. However, this also led to an even greater exposure to iron ores, which the Tyrunt sometimes sneakily ate up, something that the people did not quite realize. This allowed Drago to maintain his strength despite the tedious, exhausting work that he had to do everyday.

Eventually, the small minding industry developed a lot, becoming the largest in the vicinity. The Drago Plateau was still full of wild Pokemon, however, the industry fortunately being distanced enough from their natural habitats. Due to its prosperity, however, it was targeted by criminal organizations. Due to the Pokemon being so docile and peaceful, they were not suited or used to battling. Because of this, the criminal organization managed to bring even the great mining industry as their own, even going so far as to claim the Pokemon.

The criminal organization carried on the mining activities for its own advancement, but the Pokemon were not working fast enough for the greedy criminals' liking, with the Pokemon wary of their new owners. They were mistreated and malnutritioned, turning ravenous and restless. In an attempt to force the Pokemon to obey, many experiments were conducted on them. Many of the Pokemon sustained brain damage due to the experience, and lost their formerly peaceful natures.

In Drago's primal desire to eat and with him no longer the playful Pokemon that he once was, he went berserk, consuming an unnatural amount of the iron ores that the criminal organization had accumulated. With Pokemon that were usually so docile, the organization was not ready for this eventuality, and were unable to capture the Tyrunt, who destroyed his own Pokeball.

The experiments conducted on Drago resulted in his body developing and changing much faster, and his unnatural consumption of iron ores caused a change in his physique. The left half of his face, as well as his lower jaw, right hand, left leg and tail, were clearly covered with a material that was similar to Pokemon such as Aggron and Steelix. The rest of his body went through more subtle changes, more like the body of a Lucario.

Drago eventually ran away far from the Drago Plateau, going on a terrifying rampage. When he encountered the squad, Masked Man the Scizor battled him, despite him having the reputation of being an extremely aloof and quiet Pokemon, acting unusually fierce against the Tyrunt for some unknown reason. Drago, despite his ferocious, chaotic nature, was defeated and calmed, although he is still prone to occasional violent outbursts.

Hidden Power: Steel

Type Change: Steel / Dragon

Drago is now a Steel / Dragon Type, with all the associated weaknesses and resistances. The left side of Drago's face, his lower jaw, his right hand, left leg and tail are all covered with a metallic substance. These are silver in colour. These are the only places where he gets the defensive boost that comes with being a Steel Type, and the other places do not receive the Steel Type boost. Drago can now use Iron Head and Heavy Slam. He has lost the ability to use Dragon Dance, Sandstorm, Rock Polish and Draco Meteor, never being taught these moves. As a Tyrantrum, he shall lose Head Smash. Drago is considered Rock familiar. Unlike most Steel Types, he may be poisoned as normal, with the exception of the metallic parts of his body. He is also not immune to the Poison Type, but neutral to it, this time including the parts of his body covered with the metallic substance, which are also neutral to the Poison Type.

Completely skipped over this being Equiall Highest. This will kind of diminish how good this looks but hey, beat me and it'll look pretty good either way. Let's do this.

Bringing Altarianite, attached to Mine.

Bringing Monolith Badge.

Monolith Badge
Attachable Badge

The Monolith Badge is awarded to those who best the very stones beneath their feet and the leader of the Rock Gym, Haymez. The badge is composed of diamond, cut in such a way as to catch light and appear to glow. This round cut mineral imbues the wearer with tremendous resistance, enabling them to face their biggest weakness without fear.
Badge Effect: Rock Solid
When attached to a Pokemon this badge hardens their resistance, enabling them to face their greatest weaknesses with solid determination. Any double weaknesses naturally held by the bearer will be reduced to single weaknesses while this badge is attached. This does not affect weaknesses unnaturally obtained through sigs or other effects, only those given by the bearer's natural typing.
Attached to Lenessia

Bringing Candymaker's Token.

Candymaker's Token - The Candymaker's Token drips with syrupy sweet sugar and hums with the pleasant aroma of fresh baked poffins. It can be attached to Fairy-type Pokémon only and greatly enhances their natural abilities. The bearer will become acutely attuned to almost any arena and use techniques which manipulate the environment for half the usual energy cost and with much greater effectiveness than usual. Techniques which aid an allied Pokémon are similarly diminished in cost and enhanced in effect. This item causes the move Fling to deal Fairy type damage if it is thrown. This token may be purchased during the Christmas 2014 event and may be purchased up to one time per trainer.
Attached to Gaia

Level 7

http://www.upnetwork.net/fb/sprites/pn464.gif Scunner: Male Rhyperior
Rhyperior: Rhydon are extremely heat-resistant and can survive in hot liquids (such as lava) for extended periods of time. Any ramming attacks they use are more effective, as they will be able to hit the Pokémon and keep running, adding a little “trampling” damage. They are not great at changing direction or slowing down once up to speed. Electric attacks which are deliberately targeted at its horn have a 5% chance of dealing neutral damage. Any electric attack used in the presence of a Rhydon is 100% accurate, but regardless of where it’s aimed, will go toward Rhydon. They can see in the dark.
Biography: Scunner. The name enough strikes fear into friend and foe alike, the roaring catastrophe that is his existence bringing nothing but destruction to this around him. Once, he would be defeated easily, the trivial matter seeing him fall to even the most demure of foes. No longer. Aeons of hatred and rage have malformed his body, his determination to become stronger resulting in him locking himself away in the deepest recesses of the Earth. There, he happened upon the most devastating of foes. Roars which threatened to destroy the very core, intense rage which looked to consume Scunner himself. Groudon.
At first, it was all Scunner could do to escape with his life. Battered and bruised, his hardened hide having proven no match for the almighty Legendary Pokemon, he instead turned to becoming more accustomed to his surroundings. They, above all else, had resulted in his downfall. Constantly training amongst the molten rocks of the Earth, he began to understand. Develop an appreciation for the shifting tectonics. Where once his easily shattered persona stood, now emerged a fearsome entity. One which could match Groudon himself blow for blow. One which managed to subdue the rampant continent builder, and escape to the surface once again.
Emerged once more, Scunner began to wage war. His fiery hatred burned strong, his simple minded determination bringing wreck and ruin to everything which dared come across him. All but one. Faced against the odds, the monstrous behemoth was confronted by a young trainer, unknown to but a mere few. An epic clash unfolded, wherein the trainer came to a shocking realisation. Scunner was more feral, more aggressive, more calculated than every other of his species. But he was also fundamentally different, in ways nobody could have expected.
Signature Training - Category V:
Scunner is now considered to be a pure Ground type, with all the resistances and weaknesses associated with it. His Rock- type reserves have dropped to the standard familiarity of other Ground- type Pokemon, and will require an extra Light amount of typeless energy to perform. As a Rhyperior, his hide, while no less thick, is no longer quite as resistant, and Super Effective attacks will deal standard damage to him. Scunner is also no longer able to create rocks from his hands as a Rhyperior.
Hidden Power: Ground

Level 6

http://www.upnetwork.net/fb/sprites/pn423e.gif Lenessia: Female Gastrodon East
Shellos: Gastrodon have two different forms, although they are not different from each other other then looks. Gastrodon move at a decent speed on land, and a respectable pace in the water, though they prefer shallow, slow water to deep, fast currents. They are coated with a slimy substance, which makes them harder to grab and prevents them from being affected by Electric attacks when wet. They are also able to stick to the ground. Any weight attack used against them will when stuck will have them considered to be double their weight. This stickiness also allows it to scale some vertical surfaces.
Biography: Lenessia loves water, and wishes to remain wet at all times. In order to do this, she has crafted some rather fantastical properties for her body and energies.
Signature Move - Why Does It Always Rain On Me?
When ordered to 'Make it Rain', Lenessia will hurl a huge orb of water skywards, creating a localised, airborne maelstrom. This will create effects identical to Rain Dance, with a few key differences. Water and Fire attacks are boosted and diminished by 20%, respectively. Solar Beam will always fail, and the effects of this technique will be put into action immediately after use. The maelstrom will dispel naturally after five rounds, and Lenessia will use Considerable energy to enact this technique. Lenessia can 'Make it Rain' in any arena, irrespective of the conditions, including indoors.
Hidden Power: Flying
Attached: Monolith Badge

http://www.upnetwork.net/fb/sprites/pn282.gif Gaia: Female Gardevoir
Gardevoir: Gardevoir's empathic abilities make them very in touch with them opponent. Attacks that deal with the opponents mental state are more effective. They also have a very good sense of balance and are hard to knock down. Teleporting also requires slightly less energy.
Biography: Gaia is, as her name suggests, obsessed with the shifting of the Earth. Her very essence begs to become one with the ground beneath her, and eventually she began to train to become as close as possible. While never quite attaining the permanent type change, she attained a mastery over the Ground that she had never before experienced.
Signature Training - Tectonic Might:
Gaia has now learned Earth Power and Earthquake, and has type energy enough to use Earth Power three times per match. She no longer has access to Wonder Room, Thunder Wave, Energy Ball, Shock Wave, Trick Room or Pain Split.
Hidden Power: Fairy
Attached: Candymaker's Token

http://www.upnetwork.net/fb/sprites/pn260.gif Konayuki: Female Swampert
Swampert: Being a wet and slimy Pokémon, attacks involving grabs or holds are difficult to execute and prevents them from being affected by Electric attacks when wet. They may also use their fins to detect things happening in the arena, allowing a better idea of where foes are even when disguised. Their mud based attacks are more effective than normal. As starter Pokémon, their Water-type attacks are slightly more powerful when they drop below 1/4 health.
Biography: Konayuki is a rather young Pokemon. Being born to a tribe of Swampert well known for raising immensely powerful members, the fledgling Konayuki had to deal with the loss of her family to poachers at an incredibly young age. Having lost the majority of her family when she was simply a child, she grew up amidst hardship, and her body had to grow to adapt. Eventually, she stumbled upon a tribe of Emboar. Though these Pokemon naturally possessed an aversion to the watery techniques of this strange new happenstance, they took pity. Raising Konayuki as one of their own, they remarked at her incredible ability to adapt, at the way her muscle tone quickly grew to reflect that of their own kind. Verily, she became a fully integrated member of this society, although this led to a few changes in her own physiology.
Signature Training - Will to Adapt:
Konayuki will now benefit from a permanent Bulk Up boost thanks to the rigorous toning of her muscles. This boost will not sap any extra energy from Konayuki. In addition to this, her Water- and Ice- type attacks will not suffer in extreme heat, nor will she feel uncomfortable, the naturally hot habitat she was raised in giving her a defined resistance. However, Konayuki may no longer use Hydro Pump or Blizzard, the techniques requiring too fine a control of lower temperatures for Konayuki to perform. Konayuki also has a permanent 25% speed reduction similar to Curse.
Hidden Power: Flying

http://www.upnetwork.net/fb/sprites/pn334.gif Mine: Female Altaria
Altaria: Altaria's song-based attacks are slightly more effective than normal. On a cloudy day, Altaria can be sightly difficult to see in the air. They are strong fliers and surprisingly fast. In its Mega Forme, Altaria becomes a beautiful fairy, now Dragon/Fairy type. Despite losing its Flying type, they are still strong fliers, but may now also float in addition to their flight capabilities, able to both levitate and fly. The large fluffy clouds surrounding its body give it a slight boost to its defenses. Using a move, it can coat its body in Fairy energy making any physical attacks listed as XX Fairy-typed for the duration of the battle.
Biography: Mine has, for as long as she could remember, possessed excellent sight for a Pokemon of her species. Looking to focus on maximising the potential of this talent, she began to train in the ways of a sniper. She quickly found she had little to no proficiency in this trade despite her innate ability, but she refused to throw the towel in. Eventually, Mine turned to firing Flying- type energy, a substance she was intrinsically familiar with, and her prowess with sniping skyrocketed. Her higher ups began to take note of, more than anything, how her skill seemed to evolve even further whenever she was placed within a tight spot.
Signature Move - Pumpkin:
Opening her beak wide, Mine spews forth a condensed beam of energy. This attack scales in damage depending on how healthy Mine is, but will always cost High type energy. If Mine is mostly fresh, this attack will deal Good damage and holds a 30% chance to inflict Confusion. At half health, this attack deals Considerable damage and holds a 15% chance to inflict Confusion. When Mine enters her final third, this attack will deal Major damage, and will never inflict Confusion. Pumpkin can be ordered either as Flying- or Fairy- type.
Hidden Power: Fighting
Attached: Altarianite

http://www.upnetwork.net/fb/sprites/pn429.gif Momo: Female Mismagius
Mismagius: Mismagius will usually stay in the gaseous state but can switch to solid if required. They cannot achieve the ethereal or invisible states. Mismagius levitate by default. Mismagius use chants and spells to augment its abilities. At the cost of slightly more energy and more charge time, Mismagius can increase the strength and potency of their mind-altering attacks (e.g. Confuse Ray).
Biography: Momo has, for as long as she remembers, always had an almost crippling gift. No matter what she does, she never seems to be able to shift attention from herself, and it has led to those around her becoming unnecessarily adoring of her, willing to shower her with gifts at every opportunity. Although initially begrudging of this, Momo eventually learned to use it to her advantage in the heat of battle.
Signature Training - All Eyes On Me:
When Momo is first sent into battle, she may select one move from one of the members on her team. Momo is granted use of this move for that battle, and will have access to type energy enough to use it twice, regardless of whether she naturally has access to energy of that type. In return, Momo must select two moves within her own movepool to render unusable for the duration of the match. Both of these attacks must be damaging, and must deal at least Significant damage to be eligible to be dropped. The move selections made when Momo is first switched in are locked in for the entirety of the battle.
Hidden Power: Fairy

So, I'm obviously not going easy on you, but then you have a solid squad and frankly ridiculous Signatures. Momo, you can start this off. Appropriating Ice Beam from Konayuki, dropping Foul Play and Thunder.

Mew The Gato 04-07-2015 06:47 AM

Oh, I forgot to say: my Altaria has an Altarianite, too.

"Terrainium. Start with a Sandstorm, and then give her an Earth Power."

Connor 04-07-2015 06:49 AM

Err, I completely forgot to select my Mismagius' moves. You can reorder, edited it in.

Mew The Gato 04-07-2015 06:51 AM

Orders stand.

Connor 04-07-2015 06:56 AM

Get in nice and close, Sucker Punching to prevent him from getting that Sandstorm up. Clock him with an Inferno, abusing the close range.

Round 1: So Much Pink
With their warriors chosen, this battle is ready to get underway. From the side of the acting GL comes a massive Garchomp, who looks around him to find this location suits him well, making him smirk as a Mismagius floats out on the other side. Immediately, the Garchomp looks to make his environment even more favorable, and using his legs and tail, he sweeps up large amounts of sand into the air as Momo darts towards him, her right wisp darkened. Just as the winds start to spin the sand around him, Terrainium spots his foe's incoming attack, and focuses intently on the tar colored ribbon-like appendage only to be socked in the gut by Momo's left wisp, the Mismagius cringing slightly upon contact. Stuttering backwards in shock, Terrainium halts his movement, leaving the somewhat weak winds to continue whirling, but without a power source. Now angry, the Garchomp stomps the sand beneath him with his hulking foot, currently surrounded by a loamy energy. This energy seeps into the ground, traversing the loose sand, but only for a few feet before it erupts from underneath Momo, surrounding the ghost in a column of tan colored energy much more thick than the storm around them both. However, as the energy dissipates, it reveals Momo yet again, but now with a wide grin. With a powerful exhale, a massive polygon of flame fires from her mouth. It shoots through the air before it connects with Terrainium's chest, the swirling sand being too weak to really do much, and the distance doing few favors. The fire spreads out upon contact, and as the fire dies down, a giant burn mark is revealed on the wailing Garchomp's chest as Momo takes a pittance of damage from the small stones around her. Currently, the two are very few feet apart. Momo's leading in health, but it's still quite close. Both are still fresh as well, but Momo's Dark and Fire energy pools are around the halfway mark. The pitiable sandstorm will probably peter out sometime in the next round.

Connor 04-09-2015 05:37 AM

Clock him with a Dazzling Gleam, followed by a Spite.

Mew The Gato 04-09-2015 05:48 AM

"Protect yourself from Dazzling Gleam. Then show her a Dragon Type Twister."

Sparkbeat 04-11-2015 01:42 AM

Round 2: Da Presha
Hoping to use her closeness to her advantage, Momo's mouth briefly illuminates a pale pink before a bright flash erupts from her entire being. As the flash clears, it reveals Terrainium still standing, but surrounded by an emerald barrier erected just before Momo fired her shot, pink energies still trickling along the dome from the attack. As the sands around them die and Terrainium lowers his shield, Momo drifts back a bit, whispering an ancient incantation. Briefly, violet energy surrounds the Garchomp as he slouches a good bit, fatigue beginning to set in as his energy leaks out of his body. Nevertheless, he attempts to power through his sudden exhaustion, lurching forward as a spiral of royal energy spins out of his mouth, striking Momo's side as she veers to the side, Terrainium's sluggishness giving her just enough time to react. Sadly for her, she's beginning to tire, and a break would be appreciated for both of them, though Terrainium would enjoy one ever so slightly more due to the taxing round. Luckily, he wasn't damaged outside of the burn, yet he's still trailing a bit in health. Momo's Fairy energy is around the halfway mark.

Mew The Gato 04-12-2015 04:23 AM

"Dig underground with all haste, resurface behind those huge, tall sand dunes in an attempt to hide. If you fail to get away, though, go for a Dragon Type Twister, blow her away."

Connor 04-12-2015 04:26 AM

Give him a Confuse Ray before he can retreat.

Connor 05-10-2015 04:43 PM

Should we get a new referee or what?

Sparkbeat 05-10-2015 05:19 PM

I actually gave Kamen the notes a while ago. Idk whether he still plans to pick this up or not.

Round 3: Almost lost to the sands of time
I'm so sorry you two, I got swamped with assignments. Funnily enough, I've actually had the reffing on my computer for a while, but I always forget to post in this one. >>;

As Spark flies away on a magic carpet, the two battlers wait for his replacement. And wait. And wait.

"Oh welp, I'm stupidly late, aren't I? Let's fix this, shall we?"

*time travelling shenanigans*

Momo continues to observe her opponent, both dragon and spectre almost matching with their weary breaths, but eager to continue battling! And then Terrainium prepares to take a nose dive into the sand, attempting to escape! However, the Mismagius is ready for this cowardly tactic, (but is retreating really cowardly?), scattering a fine ray of light as the Garchomp banks towards her right! Shimmering into his eyes briefly, Terrainium's mind becomes slightly cloudier than before, vision splitting and blurring as his mind tries to piece everything back together! His instincts call upon him to keep his course, plowing through the sand and resurfacing behind the dunes to the west! However, he didn't do it as stealthily as intended, alerting Momo with regards to his position!

Burns continue to chip away at Terrainium's health, with that mild confusion potentially being a problem in the future. The short round gave both a slight breather, but they should be careful with energy use still if they want to be refreshed some more. Visibility of Terrainium is somewhat low for Momo, but she has a fair idea of his whereabouts.

Connor 05-14-2015 06:00 AM

So he's confused, so move forwards enough to get a better vantage as you fire a Dazzling Gleam. Follow by spewing an outrageous Hyper Voice.

Mew The Gato 05-14-2015 06:20 AM

"Try to Quick Charge Substitute immediately. If you are hit by Dazzling Gleam before you can do this, fight back with a Dragon Pulse instead. Then Crunch down upon her."

KamenAeons 06-09-2015 09:03 AM

Round 4: Lights and bites
As Terrainium tries to make sense of his trainer's orders, Momo draws in closer, hoping to captivate him with a spectacular light show! The Garchomp just isn't able to conjure that Substitute in time to save himself from the blast of light! Momo's body glimmers brightly before radiating the light of fae, snapping the land shark out of his addled state of mind and dealing some nasty damage! Recalling his orders, Terrainium's maw begins to shine as brightly as Momo did before, before spewing a dragon-like fume of energy right into the spectre! As she wails in pain, her cries grow to loud proportions, a wave of sound booming as sand kicks up and forces Terrainium to stagger! His eyes are locked on target though, with Momo having been forced solid earlier. His maw now takes on a darker hue, fangs dripping with pitch-black energy as the Garchomp takes a massive bite out of Momo's hat! If that is actually a hat. That really stings.

Momo is still in the lead, just edging towards the midpoint now, while Terrainium draws closer to that final third. Quite drawn on energy, but the Garchomp still has a bit of Dark in the tanks, while Momo is fresh out of usable Fairy.

Mew The Gato 06-16-2015 10:07 AM

"Dragon Rage. Shadow Claw."

Connor 06-16-2015 12:24 PM

Me First Dragon Rage.

KamenAeons 06-29-2015 06:39 AM

Round 5: IN FLAMES
The wind howls across the desert as Terrainium's fangs finally loosen their grip on Momo, the Garchomp's maw flaring with the fury of the primordial dragon. However, his breathing chokes for a moment as Momo mirrors his actions, her lack of contact with the Dragon-type energies clearly not hindering her as the orb of dragonflame crackles to life from her gem! Firing off the blazing sphere, Momo cackles at Terrainium's grimace, the dragon himself responding with a fully-fledged original of Dragon Rage that sails over the ghostly rendition. Both ghoul and land shark screech in pain as the fires explode over their bodies, Terrainium in more pain as they lick over his aggravated burns and abuse his draconic heritage! However, Terrainium rushes forward, eager to return the favour by raking a pitch black claw across the Mismagius's body! However, Momo manages to phase into the ethereal plane to mitigate the damage, thanks to the Garchomp having forced her to remain in the corporeal world in the previous round!

Momo's lead has been cleaved considerably, but the two are practically slivers apart in terms of energy. Ghost and Fire have been used up a bit on Terrainium's end, enough for a Fire Blast and a Shadow Claw each. Momo on the other hand has pretty much no flames in the tank left. Both are starting to tire, the Garchomp's breath a bit more ragged compared to Momo.
