How did Spite go off after Rock Tomb?
Rock tomb isn't exactly a speedy move, especially on a non-rock field by a non-rocktype.

Spite worked on rock tomb because it says once the curse is cast, the past move used would be the one doubled.

Yeah but Spite says normal levels would make you feel you've used two. You already lost half of that due to the previous round and then you would feel like you did it again. But in my situation, 3/4 instead of the usual Earthquake

So instead of losing two EQ's of energy, I'd only lose 3/4 of one?
