Actually, they are. I was able to use a TM Sky Attack to teach the move to my Swoobat even though Swoobat only get the move as an MT move. The only exception to this is teaching a TM move in the Calendar on a Pokémon's birthday- there, the move must be learnable via TM.

Silly question, and I probably know the answer. Purchasable TMs: are the interchangeable for move tutor/egg moves if they can obtain the TM move by those means? The answer is probably no.

Well, no item is required for HM learning. You can drop off Pokémon to learn multiple HMs at once, though it has to stay one week per HM it's learning. For example, if I drop off a Weezing to learn Flash and a Victreebel to learn Flash and Cut, I can drop both off at the same time, but I can only pick up the Weezing the next week- the Victreebel has to stay a total of two weeks because it's learning two HMs.

I see people drop off pokemon for multiple HM with no special item. Can I do this along with depositing two pokemon for training?

Don't forget to remove your signature from the shop posts. Also, you'll need to provide a link to the Pokédex entries of the Pokémon you're using TMs on or dropping off for HMs, to prove they can in fact learn those moves.
