Bug and Ice are not a good mix per se. Ice, with the proper arena has too much advantage over bug pokemon so it is not quite the equal neutral match. I recommend an actual scenario against anyone in the top 15 or Alto to get your feet wet (maybe you will be able to freeze the competition!)

You like Dedenne, but that does not change the fact that it is not stellar. I'm making sure that with some modifications, you get to keep your sig or I in the future can add something similar to my own Dedenne
