I am not going to bother with a description, because 1) I don't feel like it. and 2) Anyone who is even going to bother posting here knows what Touhou is.
I just put this because we are kind of spamming my suggestion box, and I don't want that. Anyway, here, we will continue mine and Suigin's conversation about IaMP, and I will probably destroy this place with the things I have found in Touhou. I think I will also talk about all of the Touhou games/pictures/doujins (they are clean)/videos I have played, saw, or read.
I won't say much now because I have an IaMP tournament to train for. Go Youmu, Marisa, and Remi ^o^ (those are the three I will use)

Check here first, (http://forums.upnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?p=214983#p214983) but this is a summary of points I'd like addressed:
1- Check out the screencap. Notice I am in Japanese mode (you can see the kanji on the window). Notice: no version 1.11. Notice: I have the version 1.11 dat file in the folder. (th075b.dat) What gives?
2- I've unlocked Remilia Scarlet. How many more do I have left to unlock? How many times more must I beat Story Mode?
3- It told me I got the "Reimu Bad End." Will this affect my unlocking people? If so, what must one do to obtain "Reimu Good End"? Does it involve never needing a continue? (I needed one in the final fight, so I can imagine improving beyond that.) Does it involve never dying? (In which case, HOLY SHIT. -_-; O_O -_-; ) If it doesn't affect my unlocking people, then I guess I don't care.

I attached a screencap of what it should look like (you have caster wrong). Never mind! I will give you a link at the end of the post. God damn message board. "**** you! We don't allow extension bmp's."
1) Are you positively sure that when you extracted everything, you chose the folder your game was in? Just placing the update there isn't enough. I did that and it didn't work.
2) God, Remi is a pain in the ass. Anyway, you have to unlock, Yuyuko, Yukari, and Suika. I will answer how to unlock them in the next section.
3) Yes it will. You see, if you use a continue other than when fighting Suika, you will get a bad end. If you didn't use a continue, you would've fought Yukari Yakumo, and then Suika Ibuki. After you beat those two, they will be unlocked. Also, if you use a continue against Suika, you still won't get a bad end because she's the last opponent. Now, to unlock Yuyuko, you must go through story with someone else (I used Sakuya.) I don't know who all fights against Yuyu, but I know Youmu and Raymoo doesn't.
Now for my screencap. Some things to ignore. Ignore the caster_src and the replay stuff (those are for rewatching matches.)
Here's the screencap. (http://img31.picoodle.com/img/img31/4/1/13/superfreddyjacksonman/f_1m_a10c262.png)

First, you don't need to keep the extractor in that folder. In fact, you have a lot of redundancy and waste in your folder. (Like, having the source code and having the executable is a waste of space. You either need one or the other, not both; and in your case, I doubt you're compiling anything, so the source code is dead to you.)
Second, you tell me, "Talon, pfft, you have the program in the wrong folder," but like I said, I'm pretty confident it's working just fine. People on the Touhou forum I linked you to suggest that if it's in the wrong place, it won't work at all. Yet this is what I see. (http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/7105/casterom0.png)
Third, I'd appreciate it if you could show me a screencap of where you're seeing this "1.11" indicator when you open the game itself. You told me I should be able to see a 1.11. I don't see a 1.11. I believe I ought to be able to see a 1.11. So there are two possibilities:
1) I'm not looking in the right spot, or
2) I don't have 1.11 working after all
Best way to figure that out right now would be to see where the 1.11 shows up in a properly-upgraded version.

Yea, I do have alot of waste @_@ I have been too lazy to start deleting stuff.
I apologize if I sounded arrogant when saying you had caster wrong. I didn't mean it that way. Anyway, even though caster will pop up, it doesn't mean it will be able to connect to anyone. I had to move it to the game folder to connect to anyone. Trust me, I have already been through this.
Oh, and okilee dokilee. Here's the screen (I was about to start a match anyway.) (http://img37.picoodle.com/img/img37/4/1/13/superfreddyjacksonman/f_12m_1443e4c.png) Jeez. I need to clean up my desktop too @_@

Thanks for the image. It was much appreciated; and because of it, I solved the problem in 5 seconds.
BBB: O_o ... um ... okay ...
Well, I guess knowing for certain that I had done something wrong drove me into action, so here's what I did.
1- I re-extracted the patch.
2- I noticed that I had two copies of the executable th075.
3- The one I had been using was 2.06 MB, but the new one was 2.45 MB.
4- When I tried using the new one, it didn't work. Because it was in a different folder from the rest of the files.
5- When I copied th075, th075b (well, that was already there thanks to the patch), and th075bgm over, that solved the glitch that kept auto-closing the program. And sure enough ... (http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/6850/screencapoftouhou2iu8.png)
6- So I just went ahead and moved the old 2.06 MB executable into a folder called "oldfiles," and replaced it with the new, slightly larger executable.
7- Loads perfectly.
8- And I have Remilia still.
So, that's one problem solved. Now, it'll probably take me quite some time to get good enough to be able to beat the game myself, and to unlock all the girls who are there to be unlocked, but I'll probably be able to join you guys come ... I dunno, March? Hopefully sooner, but it's not like I have as much time available to play this as you guys do. Probably just on Fridays and Saturdays (and Sundays if I get greedy :P :x). I think I'll just try and master Reimu and Marisa, since those are the two I like most out of the already-unlockeds. Cuteness-wise, I like Yuyuko, but I have no idea if I'll like her personality or moves. In fact ... I don't really know any of the girls' personalities. @_@ So, I'll need to work on that, as well.
Once I get good enough, then we can worry about Caster. Sounds good?

Alrightey. Take j00r time. Besides, it might be best, since I might have a new computer by then =D (the lag on my computer pisses people off. I am almost positive that it will piss you off.) It would be great to fight in a nice lag-free fight.
I am sure you will be a pretty good opponent. How do I know? You had no problem with Youmu. Everyone else has tons of trouble against her in story mode. Actually, alot of them just plain can't beat her ;_; (I use Youmu, so I know her weaknesses better than most people. In other words, I had no problem with her.) They just can't beat her clones.
As for Yuyuko, she's alot like Raymoo in fighting style, except she's more projectile heavy. As for her personality, she's actually not much different from the walfas flashes. She is a goofy girl with a heavy appetite. They also imply that she eats Mystia in Imperishable Night. I love her lines during Imperishable Night as well. Like after they have all those different species as bosses, she wanted a dragon next level to eat. I'll upload a great pic. of her.
Oh, if you didn't look closely enough at one of my screencaps, I was reading a doujin called "Advent Cirno." It was great. It's pretty much a FF7 with Touhou characters. It's so stupid that it's funny. It's also pretty cool. You see, Cirno is Cloud. Reisen (the purple haired rabbit girl) is Vincent. China is Tifa. The art is surprisingly good as well.

I thought Youmu was really easy. Not saying that to brag, either. Here's my rundown of characters when playing Reimu's story mode:
Marisa: Difficult. It's surprising, considering she's the very first boss, but even with the addition to my arsenal of D-combos, I still lost two lives to her (one per stage). Her laserbeam is easy to block, as is her broom, but she never uses those. Instead, she uses the "I'll spread tons of stars into the atmosphere" move, and this makes it impossible for me to pull off Down, Down-Towards, Towards + D because I either:
a) get hit by a star,
b) my orbs vanish devouring stars instead of devouring Marisa, or
c) I get hit by Marisa using a speedy type-A projectile[/*:m:1sbxpgoq]
Alice: Easy, formerly Difficult. What a difference the D-Combos can make! o_o I used to lose 2 lives to Alice (sometimes more), but last night was the first night I ever made a flawless win in Touhou. Alice didn't stand a chance. o_o[/*:m:1sbxpgoq]
Youmu: Easy, formerly Medium. Not much to say. She's really, really at a disadvantage against projectile users. That, and her green swords takes too long to swing, so every time she got ready to use it, I would just jump over her head, turn around, and melee combat her. Yeah, melee with Reimu, I know. Well, that's because the one good thing about Youmu is her ability to close distance gaps really quickly. So there's no point in dashing to the edge of the screen, because she'll be there pretty soon. You have to melee her first, and then when she falls or something, then you can widen the distance between you, and just projectile-death her to death.[/*:m:1sbxpgoq]
Sakuya: Medium, formerly Hard. Sakuya used to be a bitch for me. I think she is like the anti-Reimu, really. She's still tough, but (for whatever reason) she seems incapable of blocking my 2nd Orb Ultimate when she's airborne doing her own 2nd Ultimate, so every time she tried to do her Ultimate, I just had to let her get in the air, and then execute mine before she floated back down to the ground. I think I still lost 2 or 3 lives here, though.[/*:m:1sbxpgoq]
Remilia: Very Difficult, formerly Forfeit-Impossible. The first time I got to Remilia (and was using the keyboard, which meant I couldn't use combos, never mind I didn't even know about D-combos yet!), I was screwed. She's so fast and so powerful you can't use normal projectiles on her. I ... seriously have yet to develop a valid strategy against her that doesn't just involve me dodging attacks constantly (since blocking seems to be worthless against her as it drains the magic meter from 100% to 20% in one hit) and then trying to hit her with a regular melee attack when she's within striking range. Oh, and using my own Ultimates when she's going crazy doing her own stuff. Still ... this girl had four lives! WTF! She just kept getting stronger and stronger each round ... I was like, ;_; . The first time I fought her, 5 deaths, and then the Continue screen. The second time I fought her, 4 deaths -- with 1 death per "stage", so it was spread out very evenly. (She killed me, I killed her. Repeat this 3 times. Then by some miracle, after I KO'd her the fourth time the game said, "Okay, I'm done. I'll give you the win. Even if it is a Bad End. :P" I still think if I had died even one more time, it'd have been another Game Over -- Continue? scenario. -_-; )[/*:m:1sbxpgoq]
My goal is to get good enough to defeat Marisa without losing a single life. I think this is a realistic goal (and one which can be easily practiced in CPU Vs. mode), and so if I can manage this, then I should be able to manage flawless victories against CPU Alice and CPU Youmu as well. Maybe even a 1-death-only win on Sakuya's stage.
My second goal will be to get past Remilia's bad end, period, and reach Good End status. This will require me to reach a higher plane. So ... this'll be the one that really takes me till March, if I had to guess. Still, once I accomplish this, here's hoping I can defeat (and unlock) Yuyuko and whoever else was left over.

So you came up with a method to fighting Youmu. Here's what everyone was like on my first try.
Reimu: Medium. The first round, she was a pushover. If I corner her, she's ****ed. As for her first special, all I had to do was charge through it and knee her in the face. The second round was another question though. God it was annoying. She kept teleporting away when I was going to destroy her, and dropped orbs at me. Even when I cornered her, she did the same. Of course, I eventually just found the perfect opening and started unloading on her.
Marisa: Medium. First round. Pfft. Just beat the **** out of her. The next one though...that god damn broom attack. She doesn't flinch when she's about to do it, so when I knee her in the face, it does nothing, then I get a broom and an assload of stars in the face. I eventually learned a way around it and started punishing her with my super-quick slash when she lands. The next round when she unloads with stars wasn't much trouble. I just had to dash through them and attack her.
Patch: Easy. Patch is just a giant punching bag. Her projectiles are easy to dash through and all of that. The final round was a pain the ass, because she blew me away, meaning no in-your-face fury.
Sakuya: Medium. Like most first rounds, beat the **** out of her. Her specials didn't cause much trouble either. Well, all but the last one where she shot assloads of knives at you while still fighting. Dashing through them and getting to her was annoying.
Remil: Hard. Good god, she was annoying. I have yet to beat her on Lunatic (with my annoying computer, I am usually discouraged from trying). She's the first person I had trouble against in the first round because she's the only character faster than me. I attack, she hits me even faster. I eventually came through. first special was also annoying. It was unblockable, and the debris behind the attack didn't help in avoiding it. Like the first round, I eventually came through. Then that god damn spear! Not only is it unblockable, but you have to run behind her to avoid it. In other words, I almost died here. However, I stayed close to her and prevailed. Next round, WTF!? How the hell am I supposed to beat this? I can't dash through the onslaught of satan powes, nor can I block it. There's also a really small and unpredictable place where you can avoid them. I just kept my distance and then started hitting her when she used the orbs. Last round wasn't much trouble. I was surprised I didn't use a continue the first time.
Yukarin: Very hard. First round, pushover. Second round....OMFG. How do I get to you!? I can't attack through your orb thingy. I lost two lives against this. Her others weren't that bad, but I ended up using a continue against her and on my second try, I barely beat her.
Since I used a continue, I didn't get to Suika, and I had to go through it again. I also played through it again with Sakuya to unlock Yuyu.

I forgot! I've been meaning to ask you this.
How can I get Mountain of Faith?
If possible, I'd like to purchase it from a store like YesAsia. I have found it on a few sites (see links below), but I don't know if they are trustworthy. (And one of them doesn't even accept credit cards, which would make it tough to do.)[/*:m:2hrrs0c1]
Still, before I spend any money on it ... these games look infuriatingly difficult. Is there a known torrent (i.e. one you've already used) for either Imperishable Night or Mountain of Faith? I'm sure I can find some right now if I go looking, but it's safer to ask you first to see if you've obtained your own working copy.[/*:m:2hrrs0c1]
And before I would buy Mountain of Faith, there's the question, "Do I even want to buy it?" After all, it could be inferior to previous titles (like, it seems like a lot of Touhou fans love Imperishable Night, and I have to admit that the story for that game does sound the most intriguing ... plus it has Reisen and Kaguya, double win). I don't want to buy two of the same game (admittedly, all these games of ZUN's look pretty much the same), so I'd rather just buy one and have it be, quote unquote, "the best one."[/*:m:2hrrs0c1]

Mountain of Faith? Aren't you a little far in the series? I would suggest starting with The Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil, since it's the first Touhou game that is compatible to the current version of Windows. I will get to that later though. I will tackle your questions first.
* I don't know of a place to buy it to tell the truth. I probably should, considering I have like 12 gigs of Touhou stuff ^_^;
* Well, there's this website for them. http://www.doujinstyle.com/touhougames.php. This is to all of the Touhou games out. I downloaded every one of them from this. This site also includes any patches that come with them, and for the earlier games, it comes with a emulator that you use to play them. Well, it doesn't for Imperisable Night. I can get into specifics for what I did with that a little later.
* Like I said earlier, I would recommend starting with Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil. I started with Highly Responsive to Players, but I'm not sure if you are willing to start there. They are also pretty difficult. After playing it for a few weeks, I STILL can't beat them on normal without continues. Of course, if you want to go for Mountain of Faith, then hit it first. I haven't been through it because I have been playing the others (Imperishable Night is my favorite =3). I DO have it though. Also, Mountain of Faith introduces Nitori =D I also heard that MoF was pretty funny, so actually, you might want to. Unfortunately, I can't understand a damn word they are saying -_-;

The versions of Touhou on that website all seem to be too small. :? I stopped my torrent of MoF to give your site some bandwidth, but I noticed ...
my torrent was 379 MB[/*:m:3do1x0fl]
your guys' direct download was 320-something MB[/*:m:3do1x0fl]
people on GameFAQS seem to have either a 379 MB version or a 412 to 414 MB version[/*:m:3do1x0fl]
I've also noticed discrepancies with Imperishable Night. Sigh.
I'm really worried about installing a torrent of this game and it being a virus. Can you ask your chat buddies if they know if the 379 MB version of MoF is safe? Can you also ask them if they know why your site downgraded it to 320-something MB, and what consequences that had? I'd like to know what the hell's going on! @_@
1- 320 is the real deal, 379 has extra padding and possibly spyware, and 412 has even more of that
2- 320 is missing some stuff, 379 is the real deal, and 412 has the extra padding + spyware
3- 320 is missing a TON of stuff, 379 is missing some stuff, and 412 is the real deal
Also, if you have a copy of Imperishable Night ... *doink* (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=678.0), this is from right around the time you got into Touhou, so you may already have this, but it's worth a look, because all pre-existing English patches for IN were either betas or just not as good as this one. (Or so it sounds.)
big bad birtha
01-13-2008, 06:08 PM
That just means that your torrent wasn't compressed as tightly as doujinsoft did. The game itself is 412 MB. I downloaded the 320 and it plays everything fine. I have found differences like this all of the time.
As for Imperishable Night, I already knew of it. I had problems with it earlier because the ****ing update it required would NOT install. However, I found a version 1.00d I could install the patch with, so it was all good. The funny thing about the patch is that it was released by the same people who are doing the Kanon translation patch ^o^
Talon87
01-13-2008, 06:20 PM
Then based on what you've said ...
1- I'll go ahead and stick with the 379 MB MoF.
2- Later today, I might look into downloading IN from your site.
3- In the event that I do, do you think you could link me (now) to where you got the patch update that was compatible for you? (since I'll be using the same IN as you) The version of the patch I have right now is the 1.00b --> 1.00d patch from Zun's site. I also saw a 1.00a --> 1.00d patch, though. If either of those is correct, tell me and I'll get it. If it's something else, then I'll want your link for sure!
So ... you're pretty confident, then, that this 379'er I'm downloading right now isn't a virus? I hope not. In case your curious, here's where I found it. (http://www.tokyotosho.com/details.php?id=87641) The original seeder's comment made me hopeful that he was genuine, but now I'm paranoid that he could just be a dirtbag who wrote that to lure people in to a trap. >_> I dunno. I'll take the sign that 13,000+ people have downloaded it and it's still up to be a good sign. You'd think somebody would have bitched to Datorrents to have it taken down otherwise.

I downloaded IN from somewhere else because I had problems installing the updates. I downloaded IN from this torrent. (http://datorrents.com/download.asp?id=9657&name=%5BShanghai%20Alice%5D%20Touhou%2001-9.5.torrent) This torrent had the full-blown 1.00d update already installed. I also downloaded Phantasmagoria of Flower View (Touhou 9) from this, because the download was so darn slow in doujinsoft. Anyway, I don't know if I would recommend the others, because I'm not sure if they have the english patches or not. You can go the easy route and try it if you want, because this comes with every Touhou game except for MoF and IaMP. I downloaded from this, and I can assure you that this is virus free.
Here's the place you can download the IN English patch. (http://radicalr.pestermom.com/game.html)
As for your Mountain of Faith torrent, go ahead. I highly doubt that there would be a virus from something so many people have downloaded and enjoyed.

Well, I managed to download Mountain of Faith and get it installed. It says it's version 1.00a, so if I need to patch it, then I need to patch it. But for now, it works just fine. Installed smoothly. Even prompted me to check for DirectX updates just in case I needed them, which was nice because (since I never game anymore) I haven't updated DirectX manually since I put the machine together in July. So that was good of the game to do me that favor.
Anyway ... I got destroyed. ;_; My first time playing the game, I made it all the way to the first boss before I lost a single life. (On replays, I have no idea how I managed that -- must have been beginner's luck.) Anyway, the boss killed me 3 times, and so that was Game Over for me. The second time, I died pretty early, so I decided for the third time we'd try Easy. Yet I still died at the first boss. (I got exactly as far as I had before on Normal.) At this point, I laughed at the frustrating situation and decided to take a break to explain things here. The music of the main screen + demo movie is playing in the background. Really nice bgm music for such a simple game, I must say!
Anyway, can you explain to me what the difference is between stuff?
What's the difference between red, blue, and green spell tags?[/*:m:1urbnq0z]
What's the difference between blue orb pellets and red fusiform pellets (the two most common)? And what about yellow orb pellets and other various pellets fired at us? Are they just different geometric shapes but they all deal the same damage? or do some deal more damage than others?[/*:m:1urbnq0z]
How much damage can the player take?[/*:m:1urbnq0z]
How does one acquire "bombs" (the 2nd button), and what do they do besides clear away all pellets in a given radius? (e.g. do bombs enhance score? weaken score? can you use a bomb in a bonus round or will that auto-fail you?)[/*:m:1urbnq0z]Since I can't seem to beat the first stage with Reimu, I'm going to try Marisa and hope it makes a difference. Doubtful, I know. Oh well. Practice!

I forgot to mention that Mountain of Faith is quite a bit harder than the other Touhou games =/ I haven't even gotten through the second stage (of course, I never seriously tried either.)
Now for your questions.
1. The red ones power increse your power (there's no power meter in MoF for some stupid reason.) Collect enough and your attacks will be more powerful. The blue ones are like coins in Mario, as in they give you an extra life if you collect enough. I don't know the green ones yet. They are new to me @_@.
2. They are all the same in damage. They just change the color for variety. I mean, you have to admit that it would look pretty bland if the same colors kept going all across the screen.
3. You have a certain amount of lives, and one hit kills you. The stars beside player are the amount of lives you have.
4. You acquire bombs by upping your power. If you pay attention to your power meter, it will go down one after you use one. As for what they do, they can do several things. I personally use them when a bullet is about to hit me. However, they can also clear the map of enemies, or damage bosses. As for the score thing, they can keep you from getting a spell bonus when fighting the boss.
Suigin: What's a spell bonus? @_@
If you kill the boss when she is using one of her specials (her health bar is red), then you get a pretty good spell bonus. It's pretty much an assload of points. However, if you use a bomb, you won't get the bonus. Don't let that discourage you from using it when you have to though. If you are going to die, use a damn bomb. The main thing in this game is surviving! That should be your main focus.
As for who use, it does make a difference. Some characters are more powerful than others, some are faster, and some can spread fire. I always use Marisa. You see, she's fast, and her attacks usually mow down the opponents.
EDIT: I made some mistakes. EDIT AGAIN: This game is way different than the other games @_@

Didn't want to double-post, so I waited for your reply. Anyway, update from a bit ago ...
I made the switch to Marisa and the game randomly suggested starting with her middle spell card, so I thought, "Okay, why not?" and, shrugging mentally, clicked A and proceeded onward. Whoa! The difference was like night and day. Not in Marisa herself (I don't know what you mean about her being "faster," I think both girls were about the same speed) but in her powered-up weapon! If I got her weapon power to like Level 4 or Level 5 (just a guess; I had four orbs in front of me and was fire 4+ lasers), I was able to kill the Stage 1 boss (in any of her forms) in literally under 5 seconds. Probably somewhere between 1.5 and 3 seconds. It was crazy.[/*:m:2m97u7pz]
I made it all the way to the final boss of Stage 2 and got through a few of her things before I died. I had 1 bomb left, too. Shucks.[/*:m:2m97u7pz]
I played again as Marisa, but this time decided to try out her bottom spell card. The so-called "frostthrower," i.e. a flamethrower but icy wind instead. It was damn powerful, but I lost soon after Stage 1 because I retreated from the boss to the bottom of the screen, got trapped, and was dodging bullets while firing at her for a good while before I realized, "Shit! This weapon's range is too short!" Tried to get closer, but I had to use a bomb. IIRC I beat her, but lost very early in Stage 2. Maybe I didn't even beat her.[/*:m:2m97u7pz]
Then, I realized something: you've got medical studies, boy :P, and you've also got a few animes and stuff you are doing in your free time as is. You can't master both IaMP and MoF, so choose one and do it first.[/*:m:2m97u7pz]
So deciding, I decided to tuck MoF away and try to work on getting better at IaMP. I am, after all, a self-declared fighting game fan.[/*:m:2m97u7pz]
So, I'll try to improve in IaMP (as mentioned), hopefully ready for online stuff by March 1. Also, by that time, we'll be getting really close to Comiket, so who knows ... maybe SWR will be out by then. If not with Spring Comiket, then hopefully with Zun's special Touhou event in May. (Reitaisen or some such?)

Oh man, Touhou had that old Megaman ripoff game! (Mega Mari?) I remember I could never get very far into the game, even with someone telling me the boss weaknesses and stuff. x__x
That game was HARD. Better that than ridiculously easy, of course!

I haven't tried either of the two, but I do have a game for you. Patchcon! Defend the Library! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vTkVzPg4yU) It's so addicting in every way. It's cute and fun =D It's on doujinsoft, but I had it before doujinsoft added it ^o^.
I also have a Touhou RPG downloaded, but I am having a few troubles playing it, and I didn't put any effort into trying because I probably won't understand it anyway.
I can start showing off images if anyone wants =D I have 500MB of them, so I'm more than willing to share. I will take requests =3 Anyway, lets start off with a good Kaguya image. Well, I only have 14 images of her, so the choices are a little slim.

[strike:7gcplx7s]Post what you will, but ... one reason the Touhou community and I have never gotten along (or perhaps I should say "have long avoided each other, until today") has been that there are just so many Touhou fans (perhaps the majority ... no, certainly the majority) who have sexual interest in one or more of the girls. And I'm sorry, but no matter how you cut it, that's LOLIKON for 95% of them. Hell, "Patch" looks like she's a Cabbage Patch Kid, and yet today I saw an image of her in her pajamas with her butt lines showing through the pajama pants, and the first reply was "Man, I want those pajama bottoms!" and the second was "Man, I want what's inside of those pajama bottoms!" -_-;
So, I'm just saying ... post whatever you want, but if you're "posting for me," you don't need to waste your time or energy posting "sexy Touhou pics." Unless the artstyle has modified the girls to make them look more womanly (e.g. Reisen has taken on a look that mirrors Horo's from Wolf & Spice), I'm not interested. Or ... quite the opposite.
Hmm ... maybe I should post image examples myself to show what I mean.
Unacceptable Softcore (http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/3293/1199903563980ts4.jpg)
Acceptable Softcore (http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1980/1200092902407iz8.jpg)
Super-Acceptable Because It's Not Even Sexual (http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/7885/1200096734507zm0.gif)
And finally ... these are just my opinions. Disregard and post what you will, so long as you're not told off by dami, Kuno, etc. (e.g. you can't post hentai, since even I can't post hentai. Or else I would have done. >_> ) By all means, have fun! :( I just don't want you to waste your time uploading images "for Talon's sake" when Talon is unappreciative. ;p Save your minutes and spend them on better things.
But by all means, share images like the ones I linked above and said were the Acceptable kind. I'm all up for acceptable hentai and super-acceptable non-hentai Touhou pics. I especially love the cute kinds, like this (http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3113/1200107514018nc6.jpg). Or this (http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4215/1200179617758qr1.jpg). Or especially this (http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/6137/1193243365721gv8.png).
BBB: But Talon ... that's not even from Touhou. :?
Talon: Well, it could be. :)
BBB: No. :P
Talon: :(
P.S. Just so you don't get the wrong idea ... I totally saved the image you provided, but it weirds me out that it's Kaguya. :x Kaguya hentai is ... not something I'd look into. But the girl you posted (if I hadn't known it was Kaguya), very nice.[/strike:7gcplx7s]

Well, I have to apologize. Leaving the original post up there because I'm sure you've already read it, but anyway, two things to be said:
1- When I thought about the post I made, I put myself in your shoes and realized it made me look like a big dick looking for an excuse to argue. (Even though that's not the case! :x) It made the situation worse instead of better. Which is exactly the opposite of what I'd hoped to achieve.
2- I really like this image (http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6537/20061124001734ch8.jpg), so I guess that makes a lot of what I said above either BS or yesterday's news. One of the two.
Long story short, "Touhou girls with womanly bodies," cool, "Touhou girls with little girl bodies," not cool, "But did BBB even post such a picture? No, you asshole," roger.
Oh, and by the way ... I found a cool image especially for you since you say you like Youmu. Tada! (http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1061/20061208231230wq4.jpg) Okay, maybe "cool" isn't exactly the right word, but something tells me she's doing an inside joke that you'll appreciate and I don't. Maybe. Possibly. Have a free Youmu. T_T

Wow! I'm glad I didn't catch that earlier. ^_^; I'd of been pissed.
Anyway, I wanted to show a completely asexual and adorable pic of her, but I didn't have it (some of them had blah artwork, and the others were group pictures.) Alot of the Touhou pics I have are from an image pack I downloaded, so I didn't pick alot of the things I have (none of them are explicit, thank god.) It does have alot of great pics though. Here's a great Reisen one ^o^ (http://cdimg2.crunchyroll.com/i/spire4/01072008/2/b/e/a/2beab8eb039f10_full.jpg)
Now, I mentioned this before, and I will mention it again. If I like/know a character, explicit pictures will make me feel uneasy instead of aroused. Explicit pics of lolis either bring a feeling of uneasiness, or sadness (you know, when you see something and tell yourself "This is wrong.") The picture I posted wasn't explicit though.
Actually, I have a page that is full of Touhou doujins, however, I made completely sure that they were all clean. Here's the page. (http://www.freewebs.com/aortic/touhou.htm) If there's anything questionable, they will say so in the description. I downloaded a bunch of them from this. The best one I read was called "Charming Border of Life." Actually, the three pages about the Youmu help clinic came from it. Advent Cirno also came from this site (the artwork is better than the preview picture).
Oh, and cute Youmu picture. I loved the pic with Ran though X3. You know, the one where she was blinking and stuff. (My chat buddies also loved it.)
EDIT: Took the picture out because it was just stupid.

Well, because of Touhou (and my lack of self control), I got next to no medicine done this weekend. :x I logged in right now to e-mail a professor, but I thought I'd stop by here to say ... TOUHOU ON THE BRAIN. x_x I saw this cool video of Patchouli fighting Yuyuko, and now I really want to try out Patchouli (even though people say she's one of the worst). She looked really fun to use and pretty powerful, and her fighting style is very different from Reimu's from what I saw. Patchouli fought pretty close-up and personal with a lot of short-range magic (like tornados and fireballs) whereas Reimu, as we both know, specializes in the long-range smackdown. If my observations are correct, then mastering Patchouli could be useful for the first tournament of your guys' I get to participate in, since if somebody can get past my Reimu, repeating more of the same (e.g. Marisa) would probably do me no good and I'd lose 0-3 pretty quickly.
IaMP is turning out to be a lot like Pokémon. lol
In other news, I watched my replay of the time I beat stages 1-3 of Mountain of Faith with Marisa, and ... dude. I'm going to have to get that video capture thing you use to show people replays, 'cause ... I beat all four forms of the final boss in literally under 15 seconds. Each form lasted somewhere between 1 and 2 seconds. So 8 seconds of actual damage dealing, and the remaining 7 seconds being those interims between Form 1 and Form 2, Form 2 and Form 3, and Form 3 and Form 4.

Definitely try that Mega Mari game, then, because it's JUST like the oldschool Megaman, right down to the sounds and physics! It even makes that "beep" every time you land a jump. xd

It makes WMV's and is very good at keeping the filesize low. For editing purposes, you might need Windows Movie Maker, which comes with Windows.

Wow o_o ... Patches is BROKEN.
At around 3:45 (or so, I think), I decided to play a quick game of IaMP. Like I wrote earlier, I really wanted to try Patchouli out since I figured she'd be a great short-range combatant compliment to my long-range Reimu. Boy was I wrong ... and yet boy was I right! O_o;;;;;;;;;
WRONG: It turns out that Patchouli is an incredibly long-range focused player. She has one of the slowest movement speeds (including how long she stays in the air) in the game, which makes her a sitting duck for close-range combat. I found this out the hard way when I fought Youmu in Round 4. (More on that below.)
RIGHT: Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooly shit, Patches is broken! o_o
Let's get one thing straight here ... most of the girls have X number of moves, but a lot of the moves are just variations of one another. For example, Reimu's Down + A move is the same as her Down + B and Down + C except for distance, that's it. Or her 236 + A move is the exact same as her 236 + B move except one throws 2 seals and the other throws 5. No big deal, and definitely no big difference to the mechanics of play. Patchouli, on the other hand, has a unique move for nearly every mapping. And I mean unique. As in ... the girl has (a) fiery cannonballs of two different speeds, (b) three different basic magics (as in Basic A, Basic B, and Basic C), (c) tornados that push the opponent away, (d) a geiser or something that draws the opponent to you, (e) an escape move that allows her to go limp like a rag doll and move away from the foe, (f) an aerial "stay away from me!" purple powder move, and that's just the half of it. I haven't even mentioned her melee attacks, lol. This girl has more moves than (literally) Reimu and Marisa combined in terms of mechanics-usage. She is one versatile girl! And considering that the other Touhou girls of the Original Six lack this versatility, that makes Patchouli broken.[/*:m:35j7oeiv]
Her basic "A" move is one of the most powerful (1000+ damage), widespread (6 or so balls that go low, mid-level, and slightly aerial above a standing girl's head), and accurate (it's a homing move, for Christ's sake!) moves in the game. And all you have to do is tap A. No 236 rolling. No 623 rolling. No Down Down + D to activate it. Just tap A.[/*:m:35j7oeiv]
Her 2nd-level Ultimate that is the uppermost choice ... yes, the fireball, that's it ... is fucking insane! I am so glad I have yet to encounter that in the hands of the A.I. 8O Fucking insane. (A) It does 72 hits unguarded, (B) unlike Marisa's Master Spark this move doesn't drain you of all of your mana even if you get a perfect 72 hits, meaning you need only hesitate for 0.5 seconds before laying the smackdown with your next long-range attack (unlike Marisa, who has to wait a while), and (C) best of all, the A.I. (at least on Normal) either never blocks it or blocks it initially but then gives up halfway through and still gets hammered by this move. Absolutely owned. Destroyed. Finished. Best Ultimate I've seen in the game so far, hands down. It's so good, it's cheap. I honestly felt very cheap every time I won a fight using it (and I won many fights using it over and over and over!) because it's just too damn good. Like using Slifer the Sky Dragon against a deck made by Tea Gardner. :P ;)[/*:m:35j7oeiv]
For all these reasons (and I'm sure there are more my excitement and long-typing has made me forget), Patchouli is so awesome she is too awesome, and I highly discourage people from using her if they really want to learn how to master IaMP. She's definitely a "beginner's crutch." Though ... I have to say, I'll sure be using her if she's allowed in any of BBB's tourneys! Oh my God ... so broken!
War Stories below. Read on, dear Reader! Yes, read on!

I practiced with Patches for 5 minutes or so before I realized most of the things I already told you above. (Like her wide movepool, her powerful wide movepool, and her broken 2nd Ultimate -- don't leave home without it!) Amazed by how diverse Patchouli's movepool was, I tried out Reimu again as well as Marisa, just to double-check. Just to make sure I hadn't been stupid or something all this time and neglected to discover Reimu's amazing movepool of her own. Nope :|, I soon found ... Reimu's still Reimu. Marisa's still Marisa. Reimu's three down moves are all the same. (So on and so forth, like I already explained above.) Realizing I probably didn't need to practice anymore with my newfound assassin, I entered Story Mode, picked up Patchouli, and headed off.
(order may be slightly off as indicated by question marks, but the girls' identities I fought are definitely 100% correct)
1-Marisa
?-Sakuya
?-Alice
4-Youmu
?-Yuyuko
6-Yukari
7-Suika
Marisa: Easy. I'll admit -- I died once. Pretty pathetic (considering how overpowered Patchouli is), but all the same, I was still getting used to her. :P  ;) So cut a guy some slack. I completely destroyed Marisa in the 2nd round with my first Ultimate Fire Ball of Doom. Talon 1, CPU 0.
Sakuya: Med...Easy. At first, I thought Sakuya was going to give me some problems. She kept throwing knives, which made it very difficult for me to execute my Ultimate. (Hitting Down Down D with a 360 analog stick is harder than you think!) But once I managed to pull it off successfully, holy shit, Sakuya was a sitting duck. The Ultimate Fire Ball of Doom claims another life. Talon 2, CPU 0.
Alice: EASY. I feel bad for Alice fans. :? She was easy when I played as Reimu (and had 0 deaths), and she was even easier now with overpowered Patches (again with 0 deaths). I think I may have used the Ultimate Fire Ball of Doom (henceforth UFBoD) for novelty's sake, but in the end I kept Alice from doing anything just by hitting A whenever she stood up or jumped up. She never had a chance. Literally: I think she dealt maybe 33% of my health bar's worth of damage tops.
Youmu: HARD. Oh my God, what the fuck happened!? ;_; Youmu was so easy when I played against her as Reimu, but ... wow. I was beginning to think that BBB's Youmu wasn't going to be so scary to face off, but holy shit, after the ass-kicking I received from the CPU Youmu, I'm now afraid. She killed me three times, and one time she took away my entire life without even letting me stand. (That was Life #2. I had died with Life #1 in a corner, and Youmu would just not let me escape. Or stand. :x) Every time I tried to jump over her (like I easily do with Reimu), Patches would get caught by the green sword and take a lot of damage. Every time I tried to activate my Ultimate, Youmu's ghost doppelganger would smack me and keep me from doing it. It ... really, really sucked. -_-; I was afraid that my adventure was going to end right there. I don't even remember how I beat this one. Probably involved a lot of luck.
Yuyuko: Medium and Fun. This was a perfect match-up. Yuyuko is basically a foil for Patchouli (it seems) with a lot of the same mechanics. And the A.I. I fought was neither too hard (I was able to kill her either without ever dying or with only dying once) nor was she too easy (I had to block a lot, I almost never got to execute my UFBoD, etc). In the end, it was the UFBoD that won me this battle. (Talon 3, CPU 0.) Two or more of Yuyuko's Ultimates required her to go into the air and make herself vulnerable, and I used those opportunities (when she went airborne) to take my sweet time Down Down D'ing and then 236 (or 215, depending) + D'ing to completely destroy her.
Yukari: Hard but Fun. For a semi-bonus boss, I was surprised by how easy Yukari was. And that's about as far as that easiness claim goes. I think she killed me three times. Maybe four. Either 3 or 4. All I remember is that I felt like I had barely escaped having to use my first Continue and I felt really grateful in the end that I did not. (Thank you, Touhou Goddesses.) My favorite attack of Yukari's was when she summoned Ran to help her out and Ran (sexy, cute, foxy Ran  ) would come spinning onto the screen and hurt me even if I was blocking. It was a powerful attack that could only be neutralized by taking away Yukari's life as fast as possible, and that was what made this fight fun. You could no longer block every move, only some moves. What I also liked about this fight was how it was programmed: it was very, very difficult to pull off my Ultimate, but whenever I was able to pull it off, it took away all (and I mean all, like, a full health meter) of Yukari's life. I did this twice. She had four lives. lol I think I got her the other times using various projectile attacks.
Suika: HARD ... but not as hard as Reimu-version Remilia. O_o I lost to Suika a total of 9 times: 5 lives the first try, then I clicked Continue, and then 4 lives on the second try. (Well, I'm guessing it was 4 times. I lost count when I entered the final portion of the fight where you can no longer see your magic meter, health bar, or # of Bombs available to you.) The part I had the toughest times with were the 2nd form and the final form. The 2nd form is when she jumps into the air and comes crashing down on you as a giant. I never could figure that one out -- I lost two lives both times I passed through it (so 4 of the 9 lives) and I defeated it both times by pure luck. (The first time with an UFBoD and the second time with some well-placed Basic A's.) The final form is the one I mentioned where your status bars all go offscreen and Suika just goes energy-pellet apeshit on you. I died twice (so, 2 of the 9 lives, and specifically 2 of the 4 lives lost on Attempt #2) before I realized that there was no point in blocking or trying to use the UFBoD and I just needed to Basic A her to death. Felt a little cheap, but oh well. :| Her other modes weren't too much trouble. Her 3rd mode (iirc), the one with the black hole-like object, cost me my 3rd life on Attempt #1, but I made it through on Attempt #2. In fact, on Attempt #2, the only lives I lost at all were the two to the giant Suika and the two to the final Suika we've just discussed. So I guess that speaks for itself for just how capable Talon + Patches were for Suika the Drunken Arceus. ;) (What!? She looks like an Arceus! Admit it! :P ;))
My score from after I beat Suika is attached below. And now, the third and final of my three posts in a row!

In this final post, I'd like to address a few important things for BBB and me. :)
Patches single-handedly unlocked every character except one: Remilia, the only one Reimu managed to unlock. I got Yuyuko, Yukari, Suika, and I even saw Hong Meirin in Practice Mode.[/*:m:28nzwdj6]
You know what that means: I'm ready to battle you guys! Well, maybe not skill-level wise  , but I'm ready to do it in terms of technical (i.e. software) capabilities.[/*:m:28nzwdj6]
And I don't intend to hold off until I get really good to play you for the first time, BBB. I wouldn't mind playing you asap (tonight, tomorrow, whenever) and just having fun for a few fights or so. Then I will toddle off to my cave and (like I mentioned) train in the game until I get good enough to (first) beat Marisa 2-0 as Reimu, (second, and far far away) beat Remilia 4-0 with Reimu, and (third) at least reach Suika with Reimu. When I can do that much, then I'll feel confident enough in my IaMP skills to join your guys' tournament(s).[/*:m:28nzwdj6]
If you want me to use Patchouli (because you want to see for yourself just how broken she is), I can do that. But I'm guessing you don't need me to demonstrate. I'm guessing you know all about her overpoweredness. In which case, I am up for an agreement to either (a) neither of us use Patchouli in a fight or (b) both of us get to use her if we so choose. (I think A would be better.)[/*:m:28nzwdj6]
As for who I will use to play you, it'll be Reimu, Patchouli, and probably one of the new characters I've unlocked. This is assuming, of course, that Patchouli isn't nearly as overpowered as some of the girls you'll be using (e.g. Yuyuko or Yukari) and assuming that you don't mind such powerful girls being used. (After all, they put them in the game to be used, didn't they? ;))[/*:m:28nzwdj6]
Let me know if and when you want to play. If it's tonight, strong preference towards 10PM EST or later. If it's tomorrow onward, any time after 7PM EST should work.
Finally ... I'm ready to be helped with the online thing-a-majig. Please tell me precisely which of the Caster files I need to put where. I'm assuming (for now) that moving the Caster .exe to the folder you showed me, all by itself, isn't enough to get it working properly. I'm assuming that there may be other files which need to be moved or renamed, too. (If not, then great.)

As for Mountain of Faith, Marisa's lasers are really overpowered at level 3. It took me only a few seconds to mow down the final boss o.O (I kind of got pissed at your gloating yesterday and beat it ^_^; )Yeah, I think I accidentally discovered that glitch on my own without realizing what it was. I never made the connection that it was because she was at Level 3. In fact, I was never able to replicate it again, despite several attempts to do so. Anyway, in light of the fact that Marisa's Level 3 SpellCard #2 is buggy, I suppose there's no point in bragging or being proud of how quickly I beat people. Looks like everyone has been able to, lol.
Still, despite the bug, Marisa SpellCard #2 (honest) is my favorite card of all. I tried out all six yesterday during several playtests through Levels 1 and 2 -- Reimu 1, Reimu 2, Reimu 3, Marisa 1, Marisa 2, and Marisa 3. In the end, I felt that Reimu's spellcards were all a bit too similar (which sort of sucked, since none of them was better than Marisa #2 :|), and while Marisa's three SpellCards were unique, I really didn't care for #1 or #3 as much as #2. #2 was like "a better #1" even without upgrades, and then with upgrades, I felt it had the best spread of all.
If I were to play as Reimu in MoF, I'd say that SpellCard #1 was my favorite because, when it's upgraded, it has a homing signal-esque property to it. No matter where you are on the screen, the spell tags Reimu shoots out (from her power upgrades) will seek out the nearest bad guy and destroy him. So that's useful. It was especially useful in the Level 1 miniboss fight.

Alright. Unfortunately, I won't be able to log on AIM when doing it though, so please go to the chat when you are ready to fight. You see, IaMP takes up all of my RAM, and I want to keep every program off that I can (IaMP requires 256MB of RAM, and that's what I happen to have.) Anyway, don't worry about everyone there. They aren't lolicons. They are actually very similar to me. Anyway, I will be there all night. Trust me, you will know who is me.
As for the Patch thing...go ahead and use her. As I told you, I would like to see how powerful she can be, because she has seriously been nothing but a punching bag. I would like to see how powerful she can be.
EDIT: Suigin, you should try some of the earlier Touhou games though. I personally thought all of them (except for PoFV) are better than MoF. As I said earlier, IN is my favorite. Yuyuko eats EVERYTHING =D

I have had this image for the longest time -- since Fall 2005 at least -- but I never knew who the girl was, and figured it was either a character made up by the artist or fanart of an obscure character.
Now, having just watched somebody complete Level 1 of EoSD on Youtube, it all makes perfect sense ... (click) (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/1121846367211.jpg)

Oh yea. Rumia. She takes nothing to beat, but there's just something really creepy, but also cute about her. I happen to have some utterly adorable images of her =D Here's one of them. (http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj20/bigbadbirtha/rumia9.jpg?t=1200414591)
Alright. I said I would do this for a long time, so here goes! I am pretty much going to give my brief thoughts on each of the Touhou games I have played. I'm not going to bother with any specific details, because I simply don't feel like it.
Touhou 1: Highly Responsive to Players- Honestly, I didn't have much fun with this ;_; Have you ever played Brickles on one of the really old PCs? Well, this is like that. You just bounce the ball around and knock all of the tiles down. Then there's a boss and you just knock her out with the ball. Incase you didn't know, you are Raymoo in this.
Touhou 2: Story of Eastern Wonderland- Here we go =D This is the Touhou shooting that I downloaded this for. You get to play with one of three Raymoo powers and just shoot stuff. This also introduces Marisa, who I always use in the Touhou shooters, and even IaMP =D Of course, she is just the second to last boss.
Touhou 3: Phantasmagoria of Dim Dream- =/ You spend the whole game just competing with the computer in a shooting competition. It wouldn't be bad, but you have to press the shoot button for each shot instead of holding it. That hurts my fingers. I didn't have much fun with this.
Touhou 4: Lotus Land Story- This is probably my favorite of the earlier ones. You choose between Marisa and Raymoo. One thing that makes me attached to this is the fact that I can actually beat this on normal without any continues XD
Touhou 5: Mystic Square- This one is like Lotus Land Story, but you can choose two other girls that no-one cares about. It's still awesome Marisa and Raymoo action. This also introduces Alice, the boss killer in Imperishable Night.
Touhou 6: The Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil- Now I'm starting to care about the characters. Not only because they stick with the series in this, but also because I can understand what they are saying. This introduces Cirno, Patch, Sakuya, Remi, and Flandre. Like LLS, this is Marisa and Raymoo all the way. This is also a massive improvement over the others in visuals and music.
Touhou 7: Perfect Cherry Blossom- I'm pretty sure that this is the most popular one, and I understand why. I mean, it introduces Youmu and Yuyu. We also get to play as Sakuya in this one =o I still haven't played this too much though.
Touhou 8: Imperishable Nigh- ~My favorite =3 Well, mostly because I can use Yuyu and Youmu (even though I suck with them.) That, and we see the love duo of Alice and Marisa =D Well, this has four teams. Raymoo and Yukari, Marisa and Alice, Sakuya and Remi, and Youmu and Yuyu. So as you can tell, this has more playing variety than the others. Also, if you either beat it with everyone, or download version 1.00d, you can play as any one of the characters individually. Lets not forget the characters it introduces either. It introduces Tewi, Reisen, Kaguya, Mokou, and Yuyu's delicious Mystia. Too bad Yuyu doesn't get a dragon though ;_;
Touhou 9: Phantasmagoria of Flower View- =/ This is just like Touhou 3. Just a competition between you and the opponent. One good thing about this is that I can use Youmu (You can also use Reisen. Suigin's fingers shouldn't hurt like mine because he's using a controller.) I didn't have much fun with this.
Touhou 10: Mountain of Faith- It's the Jesus game! =O I mean, look at the name, Jesus HAS to be in it!!! That's right, Jesus kills stuff with holy beams that come out of his armpits. Of course, since it's Touhou, he has to use his powers to turn into a girl. Alright, fine. It has nothing to do with Jesus. Well, me and Suigin have talked about this. I'll tell you that this is one of the harder Touhou games out there. Mostly because Normal mode is like Hard mode of one of the others. Of course, when you use Marisa's one power, it's a cakewalk. The great thing about this? Introduces Nitori X3.
Immaterial and Missing Power- My first and favorite Touhou game out there. I'm much better at fighters than shooters. I can also tackle the Lunatic difficulty in this, unlike the shooters ^_^; I also love the ability to netplay other people, even though they are bogged down by my crappy computer. The gameplay? Love it. It's like a more projectile-heavy EFZ. It's also less fast-paced than EFZ, but the specials are more available. Unfortunately, this game promotes underage drinking with Suika ;_;
Patchcon! Defend the Library- This is so addictingly cute. This is like one of those games where you have troops, but they are all adorable, and squeaky-voiced lolis X3. The gameplay is also surprisingly good. Just buy some units and send them out. You get money for each enemy you kill, and you can level up your troops. There's 6 different teams you can use with two extra characters.

Actually, I only posted three of them. I posted the Mintos one, the Hotpockets one, and the Mac & PC beatdown one. Well, since you actually care about Touhou clips, lemme post two clips that I really like.
I absolutely love this first one. It pretty much shows manga clips of a Perfect Cherry Blossom manga. Along with it is this amazing version of Yuyu's theme. Here you go =D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBYSUFDdG-I&feature=related)
Here's an awesome one, and also one that inspired some of my moves =3 I call it the Youmu Rape Video =D Of course...when I call it that, people think I mean actual rape -_-; No, there is no pornography in it. It's just a video of Youmu using some cool ass moves. Here you go. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK8XRjeXPr4) I also love the punk version to Youmu's theme.
There's another one I wanted to post, but I can't find it ;_;.

I'd already seen the second one. Two comments:
1- It was very impressive.
2- I first saw the Reimu one, and loved the music so much I bookmarked it and attempted to find the full-length version of the song they guy uses, but I was unsuccessful and could only find a 1:55 version instead. -_-;
As for the first one, I like it, but I also can't sit through it, (a) because I don't appreciate Yuyuko's theme (yet?), and (b) because watching those manga stills makes me really, really agitated that I can't read the manga / agitated that I have not found THAT manga. -_-; I have found "official Touhou mangas," but the drawings inside suck ass compared to the one you just showed me there. The one you showed me there, Yukari looks so cute and so well drawn. And the others were also well drawn -- smooth contours, very anime-ey look, etc. Like great fanart that turned into a manga. So ... I would probably enjoy that video a lot more if I could FIND the damn manga and read it. ;_; (Or attempt to read it, since real manga is still above my reading level considering it doesn't reuse the same 50 words like hentai. XD ;))

Just posting to say that I won't be signing in to that chatroom anymore. I don't know how such a sadistic and arrogant person got into such a high position of power amongst you, but I won't breathe the same e-air as that Irish guy, so ... no more Touhou chat for me.
If you want to play me, I guess you can always ask me here, dude. Sorry.
Most of your friends were nice, but I can't take chances that some sick fuck is going to report me to authorities for his own sick pleasure. What an asshole. And I think you're in danger, too, so long as you associate with him -- the more you let him know about your own hobbies and interests (many of which would raise an eyebrow), the more leverage he has over you. Sounds like he wouldn't hesitate to report any one of us for downloading Touhou material, animes, etc. considering he just threatened to do exactly that with me, and all because I ruffled his feathers a bit and got into an argument with him.
Tell yourself whatever you want, but downloading Touhou games, Kanon the anime, etc. isn't absolved by then later purchasing them. I wish it were, but it's not. You've already let the chat guys know that much about you, and he's already revealed himself for the weasel he is (threatening to report me just because he's bored on a lazy Sunday afternoon and would derive sick pleasure from hearing that he made me suffer).
I'll look to make my own set of friends over at the Touhou forum I signed up at; if I make any good friends, I'll be sure to try and introduce you to them.

It's like the things I say. When someone is going to bed on the chat, I usually say "If you hear any deep breathing, don't worry. It's just me watching you sleep." Do you think I am actually going to go to the person's room and watch them sleep? No.
He's also really prideful. I once got into an argument with him as well, and he didn't quit until I thoroughly proved myself right.
However, if you are going to quit just because of that, then I can't help it.

I thought the picture was awesome. No matter how many times I look at it, I am left laughing my ass off.
Anyway, this is a little late, but I have been searching for that Perfect Cherry Blossom manga for a long while, and I still haven't found it. However, I won't give up. I know it's out there somewhere. As for Yuyu's theme, you HAVE heard it. In IaMP, the theme in Yuyu's stage is her theme. Of course, hearing it and appreciating it are two different things, since I love the actual version much better (the one from Perfect Cherry Blossom.)
Also, since you won't be on the chat for awhile (or ever), if you want to fight me any time, just say "I'll be on AIM." and I'll be there. We can test it and see if it will lag badly or not. Hopefully, it won't. The first step in greatness is beating the "Youmu virus."
One more thing, if you like the images I show off, here is the place I upload lots of them. (http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/Gensokyo/photos) I know Suigin already saw this place, but this is for anyone else who gives a crap. Also, I upload fairly often. The next one I will upload will be Ran.

Because there's a lot of beautiful images you've got that I would like in their original hi-res. >_<

Here you go =D (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9F7CS78W) I apologize for the weird numbering, but I wasn't going to go and re-name all of them. There were some images that were racey, and some that had bad art, so I didn't add them. However, if you have any other requests, I will take them. I'm not only talking to Suigin either. If anyone has a request for a certain character, I will go upload crazy.

If there's one thing I've learned from 6 years of collecting hentai, it's "let people decide for themselves what is and isn't [X]." :) Unless you'd be embarassed to show them to me, you might as well let me have all the images you yourself have got so that I can decide for myself whether I like 'em or not. Although I would have to say that I only ended up keeping about 50% of the images you sent my way, who knows if there were any images you did not send that I would have kept? :)
The above sounds awfully rude, but I can't seem to make it sound politer, so I'll have to clarify right here that I am grateful for the images and found a lot I liked. I mostly deleted blue-eyed Yukari images (blegh! :x  ) and images where I just didn't like the artist's style. My favorite image you sent would probably be "yukari (132)" for the concept (although her breasts are drawn like Amazing Nurse Nanako's! >_<) or "yukari (14)" for the pretty and high-quality-ness of it all.

Well, I'm sure some of the ones I rejected would've been deleted. Besides, as I said earlier, some of them were pretty racey, and I don't want you to have a rant/insult the touhou fan base again (I can only take so much ^_^; )
Anyway, I am mostly posting to show off the newest walfas flash =D (http://www.walfas.org/flash/mof.swf) Suigin should relate to it quite a bit as well. Also, Cirno loves her toaster.

The video was so good I went through and saved a lot of the Walfas flash files. Most of them are a bit too "stupid crazy humor" for my tastes, but man, that MoF one you linked me to was excellent. I loved ...
- how long it was
- how many girls it included
- how many running gags it included
- how it played off of the whole "What personalities do the MoF girls have?" dilemma facing the Touhou community (and me as a confused Touhou newb!)
It was just so good. The only joke I really didn't get was Marisa's narcissism. (She never struck me as narcissistic in IaMP or MoF, but maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention.) Other than that ... Ran, check, Cirno, check, Sakuya, check, ... quite the video. :)

There's a lot of Touhou talk and I don't have time to read it all! So I'll just ask - Talon, BBB, what Touhou games are you two playing right now?
I haven't played the games in a few days not for lack of interest but for lack of time. However, the games I have been playing and have been most interested in conquering are:
- Immaterial and Missing Power (Touhou 7.5 but released irl after 8)
- Mountain of Faith (Touhou 10)
IaMP is a fighter created in part by Team Shanghai Alice and in part by Tasogare Frontier (the makers of BBB's Eternal Fighter Zero). I enjoy it namely because I enjoy fighters; it has a cute and diverse cast; and, surprisingly for a fighter, pretty much every character is usable and has a fairly unique set of moves. (People argue that there are tiers as found in other fighters, but I am of the same opinion as a lot of Touhou fans that the tiers, if they exist at all, are separated by such small gaps that they amount to nothing. For example, Youmu is said to be a lowest-tier character, yet big bad birtha kicked my ass with her handily and he's not even perfect with her (as one can tell comparing his fights with "Youmu masters" whose exploits can be viewed on Youtube). Yuyuko is said to be a higher-tier character, yet I've seen a Youmu x Yuyuko fight between two very skilled fighters and every single win (1-2 in the end, Yuyuko's triumph) was down to the last hit point. Immaterial and Missing Power requires approximately 2 GB of hard drive space after installing the v.1.11 patch.
Mountain of Faith is the newest of ZUN's traditional Touhou games. However, I understand from the fan community that the game is radically different from the previous installments and has much more in common with some of the older titles. That is to say, and indeed quoting one Touhou fan, "Mountain of Faith is a return to form and function [of the older Touhou titles]." It throws out a lot of the developments that slowly were added on generation by generation and takes the game in a radical new direction, establishing a link between firepower and how many potential bomb uses one has. (In previous games, the number of bombs one had was fewer but using them did not impact shooting power. In the new games, the more bombs you don't use, the stronger your regular firepower becomes, creating a sort of "Do I? Don't I?" dilemma for the player that healthily, imo, restricts the use of bombs and encourages players to overcome their cowardice and try to beat levels w/o ever using a single bomb. Mountain of Faith requires approximately 500 MB of hard drive space.

I am spending most of my time fighting my chat buddies in Immaterial and Missing Power. With a lag-free computer, people are more inclined to fight me. Doppel, you should play as well =3 I'll give you the downloads, updates, and caster if you wanna try it out.
Also, I saw the Tier list, and Youmu was in the middle, while Yuyu was at the bottom. Also, the three that were at the top were Marisa, Remi, and Sakuya (three characters I use ^_^; ) Anyway, even so, the tier list doesn't really matter, because anyone can compete with anyone. I should probably focus more on Youmu rather than try to be good with five characters >.> (I can use Youmu, Remi, Sakuya, Marisa, and Yuyu.)

Defense 1. ShrineMaiden.org opinions
You saw a different list than I did, bub. ¬¬ Either that or you're in denial. Everyone at ShrineMaiden has said that Youmu is lower-tier. See? (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.msg9295#msg9295) (More) (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.msg9300#msg9300) (More) (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.msg9301#msg9301) (Somebody who actually gives a solid reason for why Youmu "sucks", quote unquote) (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.msg9413#msg9413)
Defense 2. Japanese tournament usages
Now, those are just people's mean opinions, of course. :x I'm not trying to rub salt in your wounds that a few nerds on ShrineMaiden dislike Youmu. Fuck them. You obviously kicked my ass with her. However, maybe you'll give more heed to what the Touhou diehards in Japan have to say? :? And claiming Yuyuko is lower-tier, well ... that's just not true based on the data. Yuyuko frequently placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the various 2007 championships whereas Youmu never placed. See for yourself: http://iamp.mizuumi.net/index.php/Tourn ... sults#2007 (http://iamp.mizuumi.net/index.php/Tournament_results#2007) (Yuyuko placed 4th, 1st, ---, 3rd, 1st, 4th, 3rd, ---, ---, ---, ---, ---, 1st, ---, ---, ---, and 1st)
Defense 3. WHO CARES!? :D LET'S TOUHOU!
Finally, as if you're not aware already ... Touhou fans are INCREDIBLY PROTECTIVE OF THEIR FAVORITES! (You and I seem to be falling victim to that curse already, oh no! X_x) Anyway, point is, if you go here -- http://iamp.mizuumi.net/index.php/Yuyuko_Saigyouji -- and read her essay or any of the other girls' strategy essays, you'll soon discover that pretty much every girl's page was written by somebody who thinks that she deserves to be in the "stronger characters" tier.   So I guess, in the end, it really is pointless to argue about this. :)
(I especially love the articles on Remilia and Yukari where people make excuses for their weakened status in IaMP and say, "If this were the real Touhou games, they'd fuck you up." :))

Because you acted like I pulled them out of my ass when I did not. And you're damn right I was offended by that. B, by your own fucking link, Youmu is in the C tier. No, I did not attack you, nor did I act like you pulled them out of your ass. All I meant was "I saw a tier list and it wasn't that way at all."
Also...the last time I looked, it was only A B and C. I guess they expanded it. Anyway, this time, Youmu is right beside Yuyu.
Now, I have been VERY forgiving with you. You have insulted the Touhou fanbase many times after I started, and you have implied that I am a pedophile almost as much. After you join in, you taunt me and say "Ha ha! I beat you to your goal!".
Then, I disagree with one little thing you say, and you go out and insult my favorite character. Lets weight in who should be more pissed, shall we?
What you did to me:
Insult the Touhou fanbase maybe 4 times.
Imply that I am a pedophile 3 times.
Taunt me 1 time.
Insult my favorite character.
What I did to you:
Forget that you had China 1 time
Disagree with you 1 time.
Now, am I pissed? No. I just took all of that and let it be (except for the Youmu insults.) I saw no reason to go and start something. Of course, if you didn't mark out that one post before I read it, I definitely would've started something.
Anyway, I don't want to go any deeper into this.

I almost beat the game without a continue on my third try on Normal with Marisa, I got to half-way through stage six. It's actually not as hard as I originally thought, the first few stages are just surprisingly tough compared with PCB but everything from stage three on is actually easier, in my view. Sakuya is a cinch to get through but she took me by surprise the first time I went against her.

Translation: I've been working on the Touhou thread just for you  off and on for the past ... four months now? You can see the beta version below. I envision posting it as four posts.
What is Touhou?
"The Touhou Project (東方Project) is a series of 2D (with 3D background) vertically-scrolling danmaku shooting games made by Team Shanghai Alice, with three fighting game spinoffs co-produced with Twilight Frontier." - Touhou Wiki
Touhou means different things to different people. To some fans, it's all about the original shoot 'em up (or shmup) video games for Windows. For others, Touhou is all about the fan community. The fan community produces hundreds of high-quality images daily, hundreds of comics and videos monthly, and is believed by some to be the most prolific fandom in the history of the world. But whatever it is that brings you to Touhou, fans are usually united about one thing: and that's their fandom for particular characters. With over thirty major characters to choose from and dozens more supporting characters, everyone has a favorite (or two ... or ten ) and fans enjoy conversing with one another about all manner of things -- from power levels and roles fulfilled within the land of Gensokyo to speculation about friendships and even romances.
Main Series Video Games:
The Windows games are what started it all. Touhou games are notorious for their incredible difficulty:
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Touhou/result1153_th.jpg (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Touhou/result1153.jpg)
Yes, you read that right: this is set to Normal difficulty
But in part because of this insane difficulty level and in part because of the wonderfully beautiful patterns the bullets make and the music ZUN has composed for each stage, the Touhou games found their way into the hearts of tens of thousands of pioneering fans who trailblazed the way for the hundreds of thousands who would follow after them.
There are eight official games for PC which you can most easily play. These are:
Touhou 6 - Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Embodiment_of_Scarlet_Devil)
Touhou 7 - Perfect Cherry Blossom (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Perfect_Cherry_Blossom)
Touhou 8 - Imperishable Night (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Imperishable_Night)
Touhou 9 - Phantasmagoria of Flower View (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Phantasmagoria_of_Flower_View)
Touhou 10 - Mountain of Faith (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Mountain_of_Faith)
Touhou 11 - Subterranean Animism (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Subterranean_Animism)
Touhou 12 - UFO ~ Undefined Fantastic Object (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/UFO)
Touhou 13 - Ten Desires (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Ten_Desires)
Side Games:
There are also numerous side games, both official and unofficial. Among the official side games is a popular line of fighters co-produced with Twilight Frontier.

There are three titles in the series. They are:
Touhou 7.5 - Immaterial and Missing Power (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Immaterial_and_Missing_Power)
Touhou 10.5 - Scarlet Weather Rhapsody (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Scarlet_Weather_Rhapsody)
Touhou 12.3 - Hisoutensoku (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Touhou_Hisoutensoku)
The numbering system reflects where the fighters occur chronologically between the games. (So, for example, Immaterial and Missing Power takes place before Touhou 8, Imperishable Night, but after Touhou 7, Perfect Cherry Blossom.)
Here are some sample video links to people playing the video games so that you can see what sorts of games the Touhou games are.

Fanart and the Fandom:
Fanart is central to the Touhou fandom. Perhaps the most prolific fandom in the history of the world, there are literally millions of unique Touhou fanart images, thousands of Touhou fan comics and doujinshi, hundreds of professional-grade remixes of the in-game music, and hundreds of fan videos. There's even a fan-made anime, for God's sake. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOXtdZEw-Xo)

As you can see, the thread's all but done. I just need to put some polishing touches on it. A picture for the fanart section. A picture for the first post. Some more links in the fourth post. Cross-checking things with bbb. Making sure I'm linking to the correct Touhou fan wiki. (I always forget which one's the one that pissed off the fans and which isn't. Not my civil war. ^_^; ) In any event, I started writing this, like I said, when you showed interest in the PASBL. This would have been back when I was still reading that thread, which would have been before New Year's when you guys kicked me out, so ... over four months ago? ^^; In any event, I wanted the thread to be good, and so -- like a lot of Talon projects -- it stalled in Development Hell. But yes, you can see the beta version above.
As for your question, I've never played not played much of PCB. My focus has been on ...
Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (trying to beat it on Normal, have made it all the way to Remilia)
Mountain of Faith (trying to 1cc it on Normal, once upon a time 1cc-made it all the way to Kanako -____-; )
Subterranean Animism (trying to get past Stage 5 on Normal ... that damn cat! ^^; )
the fighters
And I don't play that much or that frequently either, so when I say "my focus," I simply mean "this is what I have done when I have done Touhou game stuff." So yeah. Can't really help answer your question.

Well, I just got Touhou. It's a very good game, I must say, even though I'm terrible at it and can't seem to get past the first stage without blowing all my lives. I just need practice ;_;
I'm starting on Embodiment of Scarlet Devil because I hear it's best to start there. Please confirm/deny.

PCB is where most people start, and it's supposedly the easier game. I personally found PCB easier only at the lower levels, while EotSD's difficulty scaling isn't as dramatic on its Hard and Lunatic stages compared against Normal.
Most players use Reimu in both, but I'm a tied-and-true Marisa player, and Marisa is a lot better in EotSD than PCB. I got to like Stage 7 of EotSD Bonus (against Flandre) using her, while I've never beaten Extra or Phantasm in PCB. It's just too hard with Marisa, and ironically I struggle against the easiest spell, the swastika (lol manji).
I prefer EotSD in terms of gameplay because the bullets are more like gravity bombs, whereas they track better in PCB, meaning one has to graze more, which is harder over-all with Marisa (but easy with Reimu). In EotSD I could graze, but would usually move to a whole different area to avoid a barrage and then graze.

Prompted by Kindrindra's posts in the PASBL thread last year, I talked with big bad birtha about the possibility of making a new Touhou thread, of bumping the pre-existing one, or of asking Yuki to help us prune the pre-existing one into a better state. birtha indicated the best course of action would be to make a new thread. I asked if he wanted to do it, considering he is UPN's #1 authority on Touhou, but he declined and so that left me with the challenge.
Well, as you might imagine, it was daunting to try and talk about Touhou without scaring people away with walls of text. I'm afraid I've still probably done that anyway. ^^; But I worked on the post for about three or four nights and mostly got it done. And then? And then I shelved it indefinitely, like so many other projects. ^^;
Fast forward four or so months and Kindrindra bumps the old thread. It was kind of a shock for us. ^^; Here we were, making a thread primarily for him, and he goes and bumps the old thread that we didn't want to show him. ^^; Well, at least we knew he was definitely interested. And so I resolved to finish the thread.
And then I stalled again. ^^; So then Shuckle posts last night and I'm like "THAT'S IT! " and figure I have to get the thread out somehow. I spent last night looking for the final images and putting some finishing touches on the thread. It's still not quite done -- all of the Shoot the Bullet-related games are missing from the Main Series post as is Fairy Wars -- but I'll edit those and other things in eventually. But for now, without further ado ...
Here's the new home for Touhou chat. (http://forums.upnetwork.net/showthread.php?t=4114) So please, let's take it there and let's have fun sharing videos, music, Let's Plays, fanart, discussion, and more.
