Well, after I rejoined the TCG, I had my dad order Colloseum and XD used. And I LOVE playing them again. So, which do you like? I'm partial to XD, cause of the diversity in the shadows. Shadow Baltoy also gets a +1 in my book.

Now...-returns to lurking in the ASB forums-

Never played XD. Owned Colosseum, though. It was okay. I really disliked how everything was slow-as-molasses dual battles, but I did like how it had an actual story. It's the closest I think that we've ever come to having a main series game in 3D, though certainly neither Colosseum nor XD can be considered main series games. The Pokemon battle animations and move graphics in-battle left something to be desired, but I really loved the look of the various cities when you were in exploration mode. I especially loved how certain cities had Pokemon outside of their Pokeballs and they were rendered correctly to scale. That was pretty neat.

Probably won't vote since I never played the other one and so can't fairly judge.

Stadium was the best. I haven't played either Colosseum or XD.

Neither of them. They were both 3D console Pokemon RPG's done completely wrong, in my opinion. I just wish they had a more personal RPG experience with more open world aspects and the true Pokemon style of gameplay

I kinda wish there would be a pokemono MMO, but that's completely off topic.

While I didn't play either of them, the deciding factor for me was the main character of Colosseum. First playable Pokemon badass, in my opinion. Wishing for another in the series, as it was something that broke off from the old formula and made it work.

I enjoyed these two much more than I did any handheld game, that's for sure.

Voted Colloseum.

Well I have both XD and Colliseum. I haven't fully played through them in a while but I enjoyed them for what they were. Even though I suspect many were expecting games like either the stadiums or the mainstream games, I still like them. I like XD more for one main reason; the awesome looking Shadow Lugia. If Lugia's shiny looked like that I would've done everything in my power to get one.

The entire point of them was to do something different from the typical games. Evidently, someone doesn't get the concept of a 'spin-off'.

That doesn't change the fact that they're poorly done spinoffs for the most part =/

Why can't I vote for Pokémon Snap?

Worst poll ever.

He's not always right. For instance, he likes Stunfisk.

...Did you actually ever play Colo?

Oh god why do we still not have a new Pokemon Snap. That game was amazing.

Yes, I owned both it and XD, and played both of them. I preordered it, and got the bonus disk with Jirachi.

I'm not just making shit up. Although I didn't hate them, I didn't like them as much as I thought I would, and certainly didn't like them as much as the other spin off Pokemon games I've played (Stadium 1 & 2) and not even close to as much as I like the main series Pokemon games.

Colosseum was better than XD, and XD was better than Channel, though.

I liked both of 'em!

I spent more time with Colosseum since it was quicker/easier ta grind to L100 in it but XD was by far the better game so I'ma vote for that. The Orre region felt much fuller and better in XD. Sure they reused alotta places but that with the expansions made it great. The final assault on the villians base was pretty cool to.

You really shouldn't be comparing them to the Stadium games. The stadium games are pretty much battle generators while Colo and XD are actual, fully fleshed out RPGs. Not that there's anything wrong with a battle generator.

I know. I was more going along the lines of your "it's not a mainstream Pokemon game, it's a spinoff!" thing... so I compared it to other spinoffs.

I loved both and still hoping for a Wii/Wii U Pokemon game like those.

XD. It has more shadow moves, and Shadow Lugia (the first ever alternate form, I might add).

Shadow Lugia was not the first ever alternate form: Castform predates it.

Ah these games. I loved XD and Colloseum. Whilst you couldn't really catch any wild pokemon, I loved the concept of the games. The story is solid though, and the battle animations were done well. I've always liked the idea of having a PROPER 3D pokemon game that you could actually play through, and these basically sum it up. Again, catching pokemon and having a varied team is a little tricky and they should have thought about it harder, but overall they're great games.

Shame they didn't make one for Gen 4, and probably won't for Gen 5.
