A friend of mine who lives in Washington State took this photo. I have no idea what it (the black thing) is, and I'm asking here so I don't look like an idiot asking her. >> I can't tell if it's a seed for a tree, a funky prune that she decided to take a photo of, an egg sac, an insect undergoing metamorphosis, what. No idea. Looks like something you'd see in one of those sci-fi horror movies about aliens invading the Earth.

Doesn't look like any slug I've ever seen. Seriously, it looks more like the inside of an oyster than a slug. But cool, thanks for the confirmation.
