Hey, this is AK2.

I'm trying to get in contact with some people. I was wondering if McSweeney is still around. If not, does anyone have his contact information? Thanks.

BPK still posts here, yes. Not frequently outside of the Anime Forum, though.

A question - what does "AK2" stand for?

Ash Ketchum 2. AK2 is one of UPN's oldest members, dating back to the classic Summer of 1999. Man oh man, good times. His personal relationships with other well-known members include that with his sister, Nyasu the Top Cat (NTTC); with Butterfree, later known as Shampoo, known to her peers as Emily; with many of the mod-admins that Jaxel appointed ... yeah. Well-known member up through the end of the Jaxel era of UPN webforums.

AK2! Wow... thanks to Talon's post I'm almost having flashbacks to the year 2000.

I feel bad for not remembering any of these people... I mean, I was around then, so why don't I? :(

There could be many answers to that. One that comes to mind is, "You don't bother committing trivia to memory." Friends aren't trivia, but the names of so-called "famous members" -- members who you, Blaise, did not feel especially stood out or made an impact on your life at UPN -- is not something I would expect most people to remember.

I mean, I could ask you if you remember staron1111111, or cheeky86 / Lord Voldemort, or Oddish, or Saber, etc. etc.

Hell, Saber, even I'm not sure if I'm spelling his name right. (One of Jaxel's original mods who he fired, along with all the others, back in late Summer '99 when he appointed Iyse as a co-admin and KV, Leto, etc. as the new Mod Squad.)

I remember Oddish. And Lyse, er, Iyse. And Leto, too. I miss Leto.

You just reminded me of how old habits die so hard. XD I still read his name as "EYE-see", not as the English word "ICE." In other words, I read his name the way people pronounce Icee® for those fruit-flavored crushed ice drinks.

I still think about Leto when I hear something about Australlia. :(

But I don't think we'll really be hearing from her again bar some massive stroke of luck.

Also it's sad I still remember those names, right? Cerulian City forums ftw.

Cerulean City sponsored forum for the win indeed. We were the coolest (hidden) clique in all of UPN. Makes you wonder sometimes why more of the bigger names in UPN (SiN, Dratsta, Kojiro, Kasumi the Mighty, etc.) didn't investigate why that subforum was getting more activity than the TCG or even General Discussion forums.

Reminder/Clarifier to those who don't know: "General Discussion" was the top forum in Jaxel's UBB and was the equivalent of Kuno's "UPNetwork" forum at the very bottom of the first division of UPNetwork.net's forum structure. It received about as much traffic as Serebii Joe's does for similar reasons: lots of user suggestions for how to spruce up the site.

Man, when I got these cookies in England called Penguins, I was told that the trick I discovered in England was a spin-off of the Tim Tam Slam. I cannot hear the word "Tim Tam" without thinking of Leto. I'm sure you feel the same way: for us, Tim Tams belong to Leto. :)
