Since i know people are conflicted about this, which one do YOU think is better, for me zekrom all the way :)

I never liked any legends since GSC days.

Since I don't play ubers, my choice won't be based upon an appreciation for the uses of either creature in competitive play. I'll just have to vote based on design and my love for the elemental combinations, etc.

Thoughts that influenced the vote.
Reshiram
Pros:
* Dragon/Fire. It's about goddamn time! :D
* the more noble-looking of the pair

Cons:
* I really don't like how it looks like a giant ferret-rooster hybrid. :| I mean, in what way is this a dragon? In what way were Latios and Latias dragons, too, I wonder? Rayquaza at least looked like a dragon. But is it really that hard? You make it look like Gyarados or Charizard and you're done, mission accomplished. Reshiram looks like it's got a ferret's head, a rooster's feet and body shape, crude wings, and a ratty mane of hair.

Zekrom:
Pros:
* black's a badass color.
* His tail looks amazing, especially when it's pulsing with blue electrical light. :)
* Dragon/Electric is pretty neat-o.

Cons:
* Dragon/Electric seems kind of, I dunno, less dragon-ey than Dragon/Fire or Dragon/Flying. "What about Dragon/Ground?" you say. Sure, sure, I concede. But still: it feels more like GameFreak decided "it's time to roll out a fresh dragon dual-typed creature! :D" and less like they were considering what elements fit dragons in lore.
* Like Reshiram, this guy doesn't really look much like a dragon either. He looks like some sort of thin-bodied lizard with Mime Jr's hat glued to his head and ...
* An ENORMOUS insect abdomen for a tail! What is up with that? :? I know I said it looks cool, 'cause it does  , but wtf!? It looks like what belongs on a hornet, not a dragon! And if it is going to be on a dragon, then why wouldn't it be on the Dragon/Bug dragon? How is this clearly hornet-shaped body part a dynamo for electricity? :?
* At least in Story Mode, it's pretty weird playing with Zekrom. He looks way less elegant/noble and way more crude raw power/brute force/evil than Reshiram does. So it makes for an awkward scene when you team up with Zekrom to defeat N and his Reshiram (Pokémon White version).

Ultimately, I'd have to say that I like Zekrom more. He's ultimately the cooler-looking of the two, even if Reshiram has got something going for him that I prefer over Zekrom. I know that's pretty superficial, but hey: the legendaries we like or dislike are usually based squarely on looks and competitive uses anyway, and since I'm not considering the latter, looks are going to be my main deciding factor.

EDIT: Favorite legendaries each gen?

1: Articuno
2: Entei
3: Groudon or Latias
4: none :|
5: Volcarona (I know it's a pseudo-legendary, but still: it has a frikkin' cult dedicated to its worship for Christ's sake)

Yeah, I pretty much like the legendaries which either look most beautiful (like Articuno) or badass (like Entei or Groudon). Not a fan of the funkily-shaped or mutated-looking critters like Mewtwo (looked like a mutant E.T. in Red and Blue 8O), Suicune ("I have a giant rupee for a headpiece!"), or Deoxys. But that's just me. I expect most people from my generation will vote Mewtwo or Zapdos before voting Articuno. Moltres is right out. (Poor flaming rubber chicken. )

My favourites would be based on appearence and on what it is based.

1st. gen, Mew, it's cute.
2nd. gen, Ho-Oh and Celebi tie at first place.
3th. gen, this is a tricky one since outside of competitive play I don't really like any of them. But I like concept from which Jirachi was born
4th. gen, Cresselia
5th. gen, Virizion.

Reshiram. Although Zekrom has cool typing, it looks too inorganic, and Reshiram just looks much more regal and legendary.
Favorites:
1. Articuno
2. Latias
3. Raikou
4. Kyurem
5. Cresselia

Zekrom 'cause I played White first and that other dragon looks like canine and I can't rememer how to pronounce the name.

My favourite legendary is Zapdos, and that's really the only legendary I'd even bother to use in battle. Like a lot of people, I feel using ubers is kind of cheap but Zapdos has inferior stats to a lot of the Pokemon I tend to use (like Dragonite). It's just a fun Pokemon to use, somewhere in between legendary and legendary in name only.

I'm honestly not too fond of either. However, if I were to decide, I'd pick Reshiram simply because I don't care much for the whole "pitch black darkness" thing.

Also, I usually use the legendary on the cover just because I think it adds a kind of flavor to the story. It's like "Look at Miss Badass wielding that legendary Pokemon that Team (insert evil villain gang of this title here) worked so hard to get, but failed at because she kicked their asses!"

Anyways, Zekrom wins this vote for me, just looks way more badass. That's really it. If we're going for previous Gens:

1. Moltres
2. Raikou
3. Kyogre
4. Darkrai
5. ...unsure as yet. Possibly Kyurem

I disagree with Talon.

I think seeing N with the White Pokemon meant more to me then seeing him with the black one. He was sort of the "good guy" out of the bad guys. He wasn't a bad person, and despite his evil affiliation he was still a good guy. Seeing him with the white legendary felt appropriate.

Fav legends:
1- Mewtwo
2- Ho-oh
3- uhhh.. none? I like Latias kind of :/
4- Heatran is cool
5- I like Kyurem. Then again, it's the only legend I've found. >.>;

Favorite Legends:

2. Suicune (I guess)
3. Jirachi
4. Shaymin
5. Victini

I really liked Reshiram when I first saw the pair revealed, and still prefer it. T'was why I got black even though I liked White's exclusives a lot more (except Cottonee). That being said:

Kanto: Articuno - first legendary and Pokemon I ever saw, on the playground at my daycare when I was like 7 or 8 years old on an older kid's Gameboy. Didn't get the game myself until a year later when I lived in California.

Johto: Lugia - I wanted Silver purely because of him, and worked well because my little brother wanted Gold for a similar reason. Suicune is a very close second.

Hoenn: Eh...Latios, but I don't really feel as strongly about it. Wasn't particularly inspired by any of them this time around.

Sinnoh: Similar to the above, but I guess I'd have to say Shaymin. Had no idea how to get it, and once I found out how I wouldn't be able to, joined Yahoo! Answers and tried to get somebody to trade me a hacked one or help me out (though no one did).

Unova: Not quite sure, would have initially said Reshiram, though I kind of like Virizion too. Haven't developed a bias yet.

I have to agree with this, since I hadn't seen Reshiram until that scene, and so had no idea what it looked like. It was a lot more moving/meaningful a scene for the reasons you said.

Also, Zekrom looks weird when using DragonBreath. Don't believe me? Watch where Zekrom's DragonBreath comes from. Its model is so large, the centre of attack comes out in a "weird" place.

Paradise Birds.
Don't know what they have to do with Dragons, though. Then again, same with Hydregion.

It's a generator.

MOVING ON.

I like Reshiram.

It's a generator.
Yes, I realize that. -_-; (Somebody should look up the word "dynamo." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamo) =P) What I'm discussing in that post isn't function but form: it's an insectoid design attached to an otherwise non-insect-looking, non-insect-typed creature and that's frankly ridiculous. Generators are usually cylindrical in shape, not conical; and Zekrom's tail is undeniably similar to a wasp's/hornet's abdomen. (See? Here's a typical generator (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dc/Hoover_dam_rotor.jpg) and here's a typical wasp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vespula_germanica_Horizontalview_Richard_Bart z.jpg)!)

Kindrindra
04-03-2011, 07:53 PM
They tried to marry a typical dragon tail (Conical) and a dynamo. If you think it looks like an insect abdomen, okay then.

Talon87
04-03-2011, 07:59 PM
A typical dragon tail is not a cone and lol @ you for trying to force that argument. If you're going to sit there and tell me that earthworms, fingers, monkey tails, alligator tails, and Deoxys's arms are all examples of cones, I'm going to sit here and tell you to go back to basic geometry. :|

Oooooooor you could just say, "Okay, I admit: a conical tail doesn't exactly scream 'dragon,' does it?"

(For actual classic dragon tails, try here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dragon_%28PSF%29.png), here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Graoully.JPG), here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dragon_on_Longshan_Temple.JPG), or any number of the dragons here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dragons_in_mythology_and_folklore).)
