The most shameless, guilty pleasure of 2010. Moreso than Kiss x Sis. More so than Seikon no Qwaser! ........... okay, maybe not more than Seikon no Qwaser  , but still. This is one shameless, guilty pleasure I've just discovered. Sorry! lilblue, you might want to sit this one out ... although by all means, feel free to comment! (Uh oh ..........)

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Isshoni%20Training/hinako01.jpg (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Isshoni%20Training/hinako-1023x716.jpg)
"Training", huh?

Quoting AnimeNewsNetwork, "Hinako is mysteriously turned into an anime character and challenges you to get in shape. She shows you several basic exercises you can do while the camera offers some...interesting angles."

That's the case. Hinako was a girl watching anime (what are the odds? a hot girl otaku?) when suddenly she got sucked into the world of the television. Not the least bit creepy, we then show up in what looks like the exact same room with absolutely no passage of time (weird, huh!?), take a look at the TV, and we see a beautiful anime girl taking a hot shower. She turns around, sees us, and excitedly starts talking to us. We're the first human she's seen in a long time, it turns out. She got sucked into the television a number of years ago (!?!?!?!?) and has been stuck in the anime world ever since. She works as an actress in several animes, notably a mecha-warrior-girl anime where she's one of the main squad.

So anyway, Hinako steps out of the shower, gets changed, and lets us in on a little secret: her boss has threatened to fire her if she doesn't lose some weight (:O what a sin! Lose those jigglies!?) and so she's decided to start exercising. She notes that we're pretty pudgy ourselves and asks us if we'd like to join her. Wouldn't I!? :D

And so begins ... this.

EDIT-WARNING: the following pictures should probably not be viewed in public or with others looking over your shoulder.

Hinako is the most adorable girl this side of Venus. She is an improbably perfect entity, some wouldn't hesitate to say impossibly perfect, as she is total "mai waifu" material. She's hot! She's adorable! She wants you to stay with her! So on and so forth. This character was created to appeal to lonely middle-aged men and, well, as a lonely 25-year old I've gotta say, mission fucking accomplished. Sure, when I'm not watching it, I can feel depressed by the fact that I don't have a real-live Hinako in my life. But the moment I turn on the television so to speak and there comes Hinako, all my worries and cynicism melt away and I am just totally "You are so adorable!" for the next 30 minutes.

This is what I want more than anything else.

In Episode 02, you spend the night over at Hinako's and just watch her as she sleeps. This may sound creepy to some, but to me, this episode highlights one of the loneliest aspects of my own life -- how I want so badly to share my bed with somebody very dear to me -- and the episode plays to that sentiment. The one moment that stood out the most for me was when Hinako turns and says to you, "Is it okay if we hold hands?" I don't care if they were going for a she's-scared-of-the-dark thing or a let's-be-intimate thing or what: that was just so cute, so romantic, so what I long for out of life.

As for Episode 03, I haven't seen it yet, but it looks like it's meant to be pretty smutty.

Footage Samples:

Parody:
nice boobs, but ditch the facemask (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8wGHrn559E) - this attractive woman takes a stab at "cosplaying" as Hinako. But before otakus get too injured by her mockery of their fetish for 2D women with that bizarre anime-eye mask, they should thank this lady for (a) having nice boobs and (b) being more than willing to smush them on the hard floor again and again and again on camera as she does several reps' worth of push-ups. Hell, she even does the demeaning pseudo-squat which makes her braless boobs bounce all over the place. Talk about fanservice! So yeah, I'm not quite sure what this woman's intentions were -- a little bit of column A, a little bit of column B, maybe? -- but in the end, thanks, ma'am! :D ;-)

What? The images or the series? XD

I personally don't have a problem with either. ^^ I was just making a joke.

Okay. I thought you were saying this concept upset you so badly that it (as a joke) gave you a bad case of diarrhea. That it was that infuriatingly bad. I thought I could see the veins popping in your temple, anime-style.

Anyway, I went to the official site and I found this: let this page load all the way up, and scroll to the bottom. (http://www.isshoni-training.com/training/index.html) There you should see a survey from Hinako. This is the most adorable thing ever, I feel like I'm getting cavities from this series. @_@ :D She asks, あ、あのね、ちょっと聞きたいんだけど、あたしの筋トレのスピードって、はやい。。。かな?

Awwwwwwwwww. She's asking, "U-um, I have something I wanna ask you, but, umm ... my training speed, I wonder if it's too fast?" Awwwww. "Hinako" is asking this because, in fact, the training speed is much too fast -- remember I mentioned this? "Hinako's reps are spaced so closely together!" -- and apparently enough otaku complained about this either on 2chan or else on Amazon.co.jp or else somewhere, somehow, and this caught the attention of the people who made the video. So they put out this cute survey to ask you what you think about the speed at which Hinako counts off the reps.

So I clicked on そうだね "It is, isn't it..." and ... awwwwwwww. She just about broke my heart, feeling so guilty for asking me to keep up with her. She pleaded with me not to stress out trying to keep up with her if I find she's going too fast for me, and to consider the workout portions starting with the second countdown to be something like a "freeform" lesson where we can each go at our own pace. And then? And then what did she say? With the saddest, most lonely tone in her voice, she goes, "But ... if bit by bit you quit coming [to our exercise sessions], that's no good. Exercising by one's self is so lonely. Right?"

B'awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

I won't leave you trapped inside the television world all alone, Hinako. :(

lilblue: SNAP OUT OF IT!
*slap slap slap! she slaps Talon*
Talon: But... *sniff* ... but I--
lilblue: NO BUTS! SHE'S NOT REAL!
Talon: But--
lilblue: SHE CAN'T GET LONELY IF YOU QUIT WATCHING THE VIDEOS BECAUSE SHE ISN'T REAL!!!

See? This is how effective their product is. Or rather, this is how susceptible their target audience is. ^^;

This is one of the reasons why I stopped watching anime.

Yay for my first time being included in a Talon-controlled conversation? XD Lul.

Surprisingly, you pretty much nailed my attitude - minus the slapping. Fantasizing is okay, but obsessing over a fictional character to the point of actually making her your waifu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsikPswAYUM) is just sad and creepy.

I'm sure you understand she's not real though, and would never go that far... Right? Right?

Is it really? And I love how it's an honor. I guess it's something of a UPN right of passage, or maybe it's more like a UPN "places to see before I die" kind of thing. The Grand Canyon = get a compliment out of Blastoise. The Great Wall of China = spooking Talon with a Spinda. Stonehenge = being brought into an italicized conversation written by the one and only Talon87. ;-)

I'm sure you understand she's not real though, and would never go that far... Right? Right?

Hahaha, the reply I imagined submitting to you in itself just reminded me of this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwrf8loXceA). I just love how James delivers his lines at the end of this clip, just like an authentic psychiatric patient who is quoting what his psychiatrist has told him and yet he doesn't really mean a word of it and in fact feels rather pained/disgusted to have to say it.

Anyway, yes.

Supwize! =3 (http://www.gifsoup.com/view2/1320435/spinda-o.gif)

What's the story behind this anyway? XD

(Feel free to answer in a PM, since we're getting off-topic.)

Supwize! =3 (http://www.gifsoup.com/view2/1320435/spinda-o.gif)

What's the story behind this anyway? XD

It was related to RuSa Effort training or Talon running through that ash field (for ash items?) and being annoyed. Talon said he hated running into Spindas and something or the other. At the time, he was also talking a lot in Fizzy Bubbles Time Out. So I made a comic "What If..." Talon joined FB and ran into a Spinda. You can click on the comic in my signature.

Afterwards it became a running gag.

Also, if you didn't know, I was moderator and zone updater for the Water Zone at the time and a running gag involved using Pokemon to eat other Pokemon, typically Gyarados eating the Pokemon you keep trying to subtly hint that you wanted from me.

I've heard of this show before. I remember looking it up and getting angry that it wasn't a hentai after seeing all the incredibly teasing fanservice.

I've seen the comic in your sig, which is how I knew about the "supwize". Thanks for explaining the rest to me.

Talon, you were a member of FB once, weren't you? Did you ever run into a Spinda? (And either of you ever consider returning someday?)

I'm pretty sure I coined "Supwise!" and what made it epic was that you put it into your comic. I forget what triggered it, but I said that the Spindas on that route would jump out at me and with their stupid faces say "SUPWISE!" and I'd be all "GYAAAH! >_< NOT YOU AGAIN!" The conversation may have had something to do with the member who had the word "Another" in his name and who was a big fan of Spindas.

Anyway, this is all very off-topic -- and in such a cool thread, too! =P Take it to PMs or to general chatroom, please. ^^;
