Looking up thise stuff from 2006 is weird. It's like a time machine of the internet. The wiki that time (more specifically Kuno since I asked him about it less than a year ago) forgot.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to new entries? I was thinking we could update the League Table from there (so we don't have to look up the new link and download it every time). I was also considering putting up the level acquisitions when I have time (that's a lot of table cells x.x). Maybe even an updated census, to keep track of the number of different types of Pokemon, although I'm not sure who'd keep up with it.

LOs have discussed the use of a Wiki in the past but it's far too easily changed to be considered our main source of information. We have the site and LOs have access to it so we can make changes when we see fit. That way we have a relatively infallible source of rules and regulations that we can refer to with confidence without fear of ignorant changes.

I was just fixing broken links already on the Wiki; plus, if anyone altered the rules on the Wiki, it would be spotted and dealt with via the Recent Changes page.

Personally, I would be up to the task of making sure no one edits in misleading information.

Since a Level 1 Trainer starts with a maximum of 12 Pokémon
The Legendary Pokemon Arceus, Articuno, Azelf, Celebi, Cresselia, Darkrai, Deoxys, Dialga, Entei, Giratina, Groudon, Heatran, Ho-oh, Jirachi, Kyogre, Latias, Latios, Lugia, Manaphy, Mesprit, Mew, Mewtwo, Moltres, Palkia, Phione, Raikou, Rayquaza, Regice, Regigigas, Regirock, Registeel, Shaymin, Suicune, Uxie, and Zapdos are not allowed as a Pokemon on your squads.
You should be fixing outdated information, otherwise it looks like you're lazily copying and pasting each page without even reading any of it. Format information in a wiki-format, perhaps via footnotes to the UPN Site and various announcements on the forum so it looks like you're just displaying the information all in one place (so it won't be the main source of information for info on PASBL) which is the purpose of a wiki.

The species characteristics is a bit of a mess, maybe we should have pages on each Pokemon. Something like "Bulbasaur (PASBL)", with their species characteristic, level available, evolutionary line, moves they are capable of learning (updated for Gen 4), and a link to their strategy page in the Shadow Files if applicable. I think that's the type of information people will be interested in. Don't just go ahead and do this though, create a sandbox page so we can work on a decent template and format and so the wiki admins can have their say (should be a given for most major updates)

Fixed gym leaders, on account of it being a fairly minor thing to fix. Didn't bother putting Muyo or Weebs on on account of Muyo having never actually done anything about having a gym and Weebs having been AWOL for a year. Debatable whether Chozo should be on it, but he started a gym match recently even if it went nowhere. ShadowDino again debatable but I recall him having a match with Jeri recently so he's nominally still active. I also can't remember the name of Shade's gym and can't get onto SPPfail atm, if anyone wants to fix that.

I may make myself a squad page.

I have no intention of putting anything major up there to avoid stepping on LO toes.

I'm not an LO, so I'd rather not directly alter information without league permission, even though I know it to be true. I'm here to put up existing information and prevent people from altering it, not skimming through every line to verify information (though if the LOs would like someone to do so...).

Creating ~500 pages for the use of about fifty active members (only about a dozen of which would actually bother looking) seems like a horrific waste of time. Veekun, Serebii, etc. already have lists of moves, and the Species Characteristics isn't exactly a labyrinth of information (with alphabetical links, even a monkey would have no problem finding what it needed). Plus, with the new generation coming out soon, I would advise against making such grand movements before we even know about knew moves and Pokemon.

He's right in simply pasting what's there. I'd rather him not put something up that's contradictory and then have people whining about the problem. If it's erroneous but posted on the site, it's likely common knowledge that it is If it's erroneous and posted on the Wiki, then well...

I would recommend doing two things:

(1) closing member registrations on the Wiki, at least for now. You can always manually register people who want to sign up by having them ask via the forum proper.

(2) letting someone have the Wiki power to go through and delete all pages made by spambot accounts and subsequently deleting the spambot accounts themselves.

'Cause you've gotten a shitton of Viagra and other spambot shit on the Wiki from the looks of things. (Just check out "Recent Changes." :|)
