Kinda laborious to post everything I'd want to post all at once, or in any particular order, so instead I'm going to do neither of these else I'd never post this thread at all. Enjoy!

"Kotone! Will you ma-... will you ma-.... will you m--... will you make your way over here and team up with me?" It's the best I could do with the pun. (original 結婚 kekkon shiro "let's get married" and 組もう kumou "let's join forces"). Keep in mind, Silver actually says to the hero "くもう" in the original games. :)

My favorite fanart ever. Too large to directly post here so you'll have to click the thumbnail. I have a 40" posterized version of this in my apartment, with permission from the original artist. (Check out this picture's Comments section on Pixiv and you'll see our conversation! lol) Whoops, here's the original (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Pokemon%20Fanart/1252957991764.jpg). I especially like these Gym Leader fan arts, they really bring the character's and concepts to life. I've had trouble tracking down any other similar fan arts, or the artist.

One of the best things about a new Pokémon release is that there's an outpouring of fanart pertaining to that particular game in addition to all the other Pokémon fanart we'd ordinarily see being uploaded by fan artists to the Internet.
B/W comics are still going strong, and one popular pairing is the protagonist -- female or male -- with N. Here's a cute comic I found Sunday morning. Translation is offered as a courtesy for those who want to read what's being said but can't. (There were a few things that don't translate over into English 1:1. Also, keep in mind that the Japanese word for "like" and "love" is the same. That's the crux of the joke in this comic. The hero says "like" but N hears "love.")

Was looking for Pokémon fanart this morning on Pixiv, just on a whim. Found this: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=17062580
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Pokemon/th_17062580.jpg (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/talon87/Pokemon/17062580.jpg)
It's a bishounen anthropomorphizing of the three Unova starters. I think they did an especially good job with the final stage of all three starters -- the king, the warrior-ogre, and the samurai -- but the depictions of the other stages are good too.

Was discussing the fan pairing of the chivalrous knight Escavalier with the fair maiden Lilligant tonight and decided to share some stuff here I'd found on Pixiv and enjoyed.

It'd be pretty sweet if the B/W anime team incorporated this into the episode where Escavalier is first shown. It just works so well, even if as Loki pointed out "This wouldn't work irl. BUGS EAT GRASS!"  It'd also be mega-sweet if we saw this incorporated into the fourth Mystery Dungeon series.

I dunno, but it dates back a while. lazy uploaded his picture(s) on October 22 of last year while 猫狐よしお@いろいろ中 uploaded his picture on November 22 of the same year.
Here are some more pictures (Pixiv links only) that should serve to illustrate the extent to which this fan pairing exists  . I'll list them by artists first, and underneath each artist I'll list out the drawings. Click the spoiler tag to reveal the list:

This is the oldest work I can find on Pixiv when I search for Shubarugo and Doredia in Japanese. Dated 9/26/2010, it is titled very simply 騎士と姫, or "Knight and Princess" / "The Knight and the Princess" / etc. I don't know if this fan artist was the first one to refer to Doredia as "Hime" (Princess), but the name stuck -- you see it on so, so many titles of Lilligant fanart. Escavalier is the spitting image of a knight, of course, what his Roman-styled helmet and his European-style jousting pole. I think what most attracted fans to this pairing was the idea of a knight and his fair lady coupled with the idea that he's a Bug-type but she's a Grass-type. Like Loki joked about, they shouldn't be a pairing. And so there enters in the forbidden love angle. ;-)

This simply-named piece, 「まもる。」 ("I will protect you."), was uploaded just two days later, on September 28, 2010. Like its predecessor, it has quite a few Pixiv users who have favorited it. Surely they can't have favorited it on the basis of the drawing skills the drawing depicts.  So I think it's safe to say they favorited it because they liked this pairing and they were voting, "We want more." And more they did receive.

http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=15911768
This one's got the full cast. You've got the Fairy (Whimsicott), the Princess (Lilligant), the Knight (Escavalier), and the ninja (what's-his-name  ).
http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=15655163
This one brings back the idea of the Grass Princess and the Bug Knight, although the artist has written "Leaf" in English for 草 which means grass. ^^;
桜豆カカヲ@虫ポケ!
http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=15026904
With a title like this, I think it's safe to say this artist D'awwwwwww 's over this pairing. ^_-
うぱお
http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=16914118
Remember that group of four you just saw a few seconds ago? Yeah, they're back again. Dunno if this'll stick or not, but here's a contribution from うぱお titled 姫と騎士と同人誌 (Hime to Kishi to Doujinshi, "The Princess and the Knight and the Doujinshi"). It's an 18-page comic about some misunderstandings between Escavalier and Lilligant that runs a little Midsummer's Night Dream at times. No porn, completely work-safe, though it does take place at the Daycare and it does involve a "Who's the Daddy Mommy?" moment when Lilligant catches Escavalier watching over eggs.

It's by no means universal -- for example, there are only two pages' worth of hits for ドレディア シュバルゴ (Doredia Shubarugo) versus the fifty-three pages' worth of hits for just ドレディア (Doredia) alone. However, a lot of the earlier hits for Doredia are of other characters who may have shared the same name as Lilligant or else had names similar enough for Pixiv to return them to me in my search. But yeah: the pairing exists, I dunno who first thought of it or why, but I think it's cute and it makes good character design-based sense.
After all, she's the princess type and he's clearly a knight in shining armor. ^_^

That is amazing fanart. I've always liked "realistic" pokemon (when it's done in a way that preserves their poke-nature), and the little stories he wrote about them are awesome too.
I loved the Torcoal, Camerupt, Magcargo and Torterra most.
