I was looking at the ban list for standard tournaments, and I was sort of surprised.

150 – Mewtwo 386 – Deoxys
151 – Mew 479 – Rotom
248 – Tyranitar 483 – Dialga
249 – Lugia 484 – Palkia
250 – Ho-Oh 487 – Giratina
251 – Celebi 489 – Phione
382 – Kyogre 490 – Manaphy
383 – Groudon 491 – Darkrai
384 – Rayquaza 492 – Shaymin
385 – Jirachi

wat.

On a somewhat related note, it's interesting that PUSA recognizes the threat posed by Wobbles.

For 3v3 I'm not supprised TTar and Celebii is banned, although I am for Rotom, Phione being on the list and Garchomp not.

You know you don't actually mention Wobbs in that post :x

Doesn't T-tar evolve at level 55 whereas the level cap is at Lv.50? (And in that case Dragonite can only compete if it's the event Dragonite given away at TRU D: ).

But Rotom? Seriously? O_o

By similar logic, is there such a thing as a Mewtwo that has a level lower than 70? I never played FR/LG but I would imagine that Mewtwo was still inside the Unknown Dungeon at Level 70. :|

As for Wobbuffet, didn't DPP rectify that problem? If I recall correctly, Wobbuffet's Shadow Tag no longer works when his opponent also has Shadow Tag. This means no more threat of Wobbuffet vs. Wobbuffet. Also, in 3 vs 3, Wobbuffet is probably more of a liability to the team than he is an asset. He's much more useful in 6 vs 6 because 6 vs 6 is where you start to see team strategies evolving and Wobbuffet can throw a wrench in those by removing a crucial member of the link. In 3 vs 3 battles, it's almost always a fight to the death between 3 speedy sweepers.

Official Pokemon video game tournaments are 4v4 double battles. But Wobbs is pretty worthless in double battles so who cares.

As for the ban list, promotional Pokemon are always banned so having Phione be out of the picture isn't a total surprise: not that anyone would ever use that shitpile in this competition. I'm assuming Rotom's out because appliance forms can't go online (or any other cart-to-cart connection), but that's just a guess personally.

You're right, I'd already forgotten about that. Thanks for the reminder.

The original list I pulled up was edited and I didn't realize that it was added in.

Rotom.
Wtf.
Also how legit are the people in qualifiers for these things? I really don't want to IV breed and I'm vaguely interested in this stuff.

To win a region you'd have to be 4 srs. One of my good friends was in the JAA final four a few years ago, and he told me it was pretty hardcore.
