Michael Jackson is in discussions about creating a 50-foot robotic replica of himself to roam the Las Vegas desert, according to reports.

The pop legend is currently understood to be living in the city, as he considers making a comeback after 2004's turbulent child sex case.

It has now been claimed that his plans include an elaborate show in Vegas, which would feature the giant Jacko striding around the desert, firing laser beams.

If built, the metal monster would apparently be visible to aircraft as they come in to land in the casino capital.

It is the centre-piece of an elaborate Jackson-inspired show in Vegas, according to Andre Van Pier, the robot's designer.

Luckman Van Pier, his partner at the company behind the proposal, claims blueprints have been drawn-up for the show and seen by the star.

"Michael's looked at the sketches and likes them", he told the New York Daily News.

On the subject of the robot, he continued: "It would be in the desert sands. Laser beams would shoot out of it so it would be the first thing people flying in would see."

Seriously though, what is the point of that? Say a tourist like myself wants to visit Las Vegas and I'm flying in. I can assure you that a 50ft robotic replica of Michael Jackson is something I do NOT want to be seeing. If they'd dump it out in the middle of nowhere where you'd have to travel to see it if you WANT to, that's one thing, but forcing it into people's faces... not impressed.

I personally have no likes or dislikes where Michael Jackson is concerned. Everyone knows the guy is a few cans short of a six pack, but even so it's extraordinarily arrogant of him to assume that just because he does have a fan base, everyone wants a part of him and would love to see something like this. I think Brad Pitt is freaking GORGEOUS, but I wouldn't want to see a 50ft replica of him either.

My personal opinion is that this kind of venture shouldn't be forced down people's throats. If they want to go and see it, fine, put it somewhere they can go visit. Don't shove it in our faces *waits for the MJ lovers of the world to beat her to a pulp*

And for the record hon, given a choice, I'd rather see a 50ft Loki than a 50ft Michael Jackson any day of the week ^-~

Dude! I think they should do it. I don't like Michael Jackson's music, and his little child fetish is really none of my business, but this will not only be insane, but extremely scary. You could see a bunch of wrecks and shitty pants in whatever area of Las Vegas they put it in. Hell, they could also stick it in Alabama or something, wait by the huge Michael Jackson and watch the fun begin =D.

although he might have stole it from that futurama episode, but he saw it and said "i want that 50 foot robot to look like me" and turned the idea golden

but honestly if i were to make one i would want the option to be able to control it like a gundam, with the controlroom at the heart, and an observatory/pedo love nest on the head and the eyes (when thier not chargin mah lazars... swoop da woop) to be windows so i may rape children while i relive my childhood fantasy to ride a statue of libertyesque robot like in ghostbusters 2 but the goo lining the insides wont be pink... that would be so bad ass.
