How to deal with hackers?

Arlong Park recently underwent some trouble when an admin went rogue, killed all moderators/admins and destroyed half the forum. While the admins are currently trying to work a solution, there's nothing I can do outside of commanding the legions to maliciously hammer our home, and that would be bad since it hurts the forum after we get rid of this despot.

So, is there a way to force this guy out within a normal user's capabilities?

I'm trying to keep a low profile to avoid my head getting chopped off. This is a serious problem since the server guy doesn't know what to do, either. >.>;;

Could last for weeks. I'd like to hack his account, but I'm not a politician.

This might help. Loki, what sort of powers do you have as a mod? Could you look at someone's private email address and the like?

I may have. The rogue admin is ten years old and a complete idiot. He doens't know how to delete forums or wipe the server, just ban people and create a new category/forum.

So, what are the extent of your abilities?

Maybe I shoulda said, "YUUUUGGGIIIIII~ OOOOOHHHH!" at the end of my post.

My level is hardly anywhere close to worth gloating about.

The way the admin should be going about it is contacting the person who owns the server and to tell him to either shut down the site temporarily or restore the other administrators.

Also, I thought forums had a special protection on the Head Administrator to prevent things like this from happening. Like that time the old vB Forums were hacked by that Palestinian supporters (it was like an '04 event iirc). All the admin except Kuno were deleted because Kuno's account was protected from deletion. All the hacker could do was change Kuno's name.

It's not the case on AP. My boss, the head admin, was deleted and banned, and so were the other admins as well. The server guy can't be reached, so the forums are up solely to facilitate discussion on how to go about this problem.

I would ask dami for help, but he's not on right now.

Download a password hacker. I just searched on google, and you can find loads of them. xfd Found this one that can help with all sorts of passwords: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/loginmgrasp.asp

Dunno if it'll help on a forum or not, but it's worth a shot.
